a young girl lay aloft her mother’s corpse.
her ma would lay stiff as a board.
a faint trembling breath would mix with her ready remorse.
but the girl did nothing but let then let her ma treat her so poor.
abuse, mentally and even to her body.
a young little girl has nothing to say.
in her trembling hands, a doll so shoddy.
the girl has herself all a fray.
she snaps her bones, all in her head.
she’s losing it, she’s lost her mind.
she doesn’t know what to do with the dead.
kissing her ma’s hand is all she can find.
years later, the girl has sprouted beautifully fair.
her skin pale, and her hair long and amber.
the girl had strength, she got through such despair.
the got through the somber and sorrow.
although she reminisces of her mother’s abuse.
she still has hope too strong and profuse.
