Mai Lệ Huyền grew up in Nam Dinh, North Vietnam with her single mother, Anh Huyen. Mai's father passed away when she was very young, so Anh Huyen raised Mai on her own. Anh Huyen worked tirelessly as a seamstress to provide for Mai and give her the best possible upbringing. Mai's childhood in Vietnam was filled with warmth, love, and the rich culture of her homeland. However, as Mai grew older, she longed to explore the world beyond her small town. Eventually, Mai and her mother made the difficult decision to move to Karakura, Japan in search of better opportunities. They hoped to start afresh and build a new life in a new country. Tragically, not long after settling in Karakura, Mai's mother, Anh Huyen, fell ill and passed away, leaving Mai devastated and alone in a foreign land.
