What is your Minecraft username?:
197Os (With an O)
Do you have Discord (If so, what is your Discord username?):

How old are you? (Optional):
20 (21 in 10 days.)
What is your time zone?:

Describe your activity on the server:
I've been on and off since late 2017, taking several month breaks in between activities. However, whenever I've been active on SRP, I've been involved in a variety of role-play scenarios. I've been in multiple crime families, including Whyos and Tsuyoi, and I'm currently engaged in non-crime families such as the Akiyama family. For several months, however, I've been more active than ever and decided it was finally time to leap into faction activity. The majority of my organized roleplay so far has taken place within the criminal context, so I felt engaging in a non-criminal faction would be an interesting way to branch out.
Have you ever been banned (If yes, when and why?):
I don't believe so, I have been warned for leaving school grounds, however.
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you will be demoted?:
Yes, of course! I wouldn't be fulfilling my role.
School Employee Role you are applying for?:
I'm applying to be a Librarian.
In as much detail as possible, describe the employee role you are applying for:
Librarians are the keepers of the library, managing and overseeing its boundless maze of shelves. They hand out library cards and keep a watchful eye over the students who seek refuge within its paperbound realm. Alongside their specificity, Librarians also oversee general faculty responsibilities, such as dealing with student behavioral issues and intervening in fights and conflicts. A good librarian is defined by a single word, available. Good librarians are available to offer interesting roleplay opportunities to new students, who have yet to establish themselves, alongside students who are just bored, hanging around.
What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?:
Over my several years of on-and-off activity within the various roads and back alleys of Karakura, I've been thoroughly encapsulated in the culture and lifestyle of its many citizens. I've played criminals and high schoolers, vigilantes and college athletes, and have deeply enjoyed every environment I've had the pleasure of engaging with. Beyond this, however, I'm also a professional Dungeon Master in my free time. I get paid to run D&D games at birthday parties and events and engage in roleplay consistently, through personal sessions as well. I've consistently been running Dungeons and Dragons games since 2018, spanning settings from the medieval period, to the modern day. My longest-running campaign has been ongoing for over a year and a half consistently. I am very fond of engaging and interesting roleplay and would find the opportunity to experience yet another corner of Karakura's workings quite a blessing.
Why do you want to join the School Employee faction?:
I'd like to join the School Employee faction for a plethora of reasons. Firstly–and most simply– I work in a school in my actual life. The faction sticks out to me as a good middle ground; still familiar, yet entirely different in perspective. I also understand from a server perspective, that the school is an environment designed to collect everyone within a smaller area, meaning it's intentionally a place for instigating roleplay situations. I wouldn't want to miss out on that opportunity by joining another faction, uninvolved with the main school grounds. Furthermore, I have a lot of friends within the school faction as a whole, including several in-character family members. Some of my friends currently engaged in the academic faction include, Smoll_Potato, Kinyuun, Frenzyyy, and CATLOVER_10. Lastly, I think I'd enjoy roleplay as a librarian character-wise. The character I'm applying with, Laurey, is an ex-criminal, who was never caught on any major crimes. Because of this, he'd be a very unorthodox librarian. Old, grizzled, and sarcastically bitter, Laurey would treat students with respect of course–to the degree required– but would never do so with a bubbly or quiet disposition.

Currently, I have two grade 12 characters. Yuta Akiyama, and Laurey H. Addler.

Situations
/*Do not mention the use of FearRP*/
During a work shift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how does your character react?:
Laurey isn't one to lose his temper, and he tends to have a soft spot for the rowdy. They remind him of himself when he was younger. Of course, despite this, a job is a job. He'd likely use his imposing appearance and stature to attempt to intimidate the youngster. It is important to note, that he wouldn't treat the situation with anger or frustration, but with fair sternness. He is an experienced leader, after all.
(I'm including an action for each, despite not requiring it.)
/it The man stood, staring blankly. His face betrayed him as a smirk spread across his face. Flashes of nostalgia spread across those old tired eyes. He took a step forward, intimidatingly entering the student's sphere. "Get goin' knucklehead." He spoke, sternly. Not harshly, but with authority. "before I have to call you in."
You notice two students are physically fighting in the hallway, – multiple punches have been thrown – how does your character react?:
He'd immediately physically separate the students, likely using his old-man strength to break them up. Even though it'd likely be more responsible for him to verbally attempt to intervene, Laurey would likely be too overwhelmed with excitement to think that through. ****yzing the surroundings, and understanding the philosophy of delinquents, Laurey would immediately make sure that both of the students understand the consequences of leaving the scene, as is often common, making sure to ****yze and put to memory the student's appearances. Should a student leave, he'd likely insult them under his breath, for their cowardice, before handing out appropriate detentions, and pursuing proper procedure for understanding what had taken place. He'd take into account witness testimony, and likely take some of it into consideration. This is all subject to variation, however, as in more severe cases, Laurey would likely take students to receive medical attention, before investigating what had taken place.
/me would immediately rush forward, forcefully placing himself between the two troublemakers before speaking in a firm grizzled tone, "What the-" He restrained himself, "heck is goin' on here?" He'd turn towards one of the students, his eyes alight with the obvious disappointment of a father figure. "Don't you two have the sense to take your catfights outside school grounds?" He'd turn towards the other, "Hm? Now I have to deal with it." He'd look down, swiftly ****yzing both student's injuries, with specific attention to the state of their fists.
Another school employee is acting inappropriately, doing something very dangerous on the job, how does your character react?:
To put it simply, should Laurey observe another employee being a "knucklehead" as he would lovingly state, he'd watch on. Laurey is a firm believer in the way of the brick wall. Should the employee do something he deemed crudely idiotic, it would be Laurey's philosophy that the world will judge them as it may. It isn't his problem. He may get some entertainment out of it, inherently pessimistic, and without concern. Life teaches lessons better than any mouth can.
/my legs would cross as he sat back into his chair, anticipating the time-tested payout of taking a risk to befall the figure in front of him. His eyes were restricted to a squint, and he couldn't help but allow a subtle smile to break his face as the inherently dangerous act took place. Perhaps he felt a tinge of guilt–not intervening– perhaps not. Whatever the case, he certainly didn't act on it as his body rose and fell slightly with a half-hearted giggle.
When in the employee break room, how does your character act?
Laurey would likely sleep, or take the time to read through some comical genre, perhaps an inherently dramatic romance, or a kid's fantasy book. Laurey is by no means an intellectual, at first glance. He'd probably treat fellow staff as either friends or nieces and nephews, depending on age. Very friendly and outgoing towards those who respect him, in a sleezy sort of way. He is, still, at heart a conman. Laurey doesn't bother himself with formalities and manners, when in private–heck, he hardly does in public– which would bring an interesting dynamic to the typically formal and responsible culture surrounding the staff's roleplay.
/it The old man would cross his legs, placing them on the breakroom table as he leaned back precariously in the small chair. His reading glasses sat on the end of his nose, as he looked down at the book, labeled, Live, and Love. Was- he reading a romance novel? He'd glance up, addressing the figure as they entered the room with a grizzled, "Huuuff" of acknowledgment, before returning to his cherished reading.
Provide us with at least three detailed /me's of your character whilst in your chosen role:
/me: (Laurey T. Adler) would wander through the various shelves of dead trees, he had no interest in taking advantage of. The majority of it, he thought, was just older, richer, folks rambling about how they could fix your problems anyways. He'd glance down with an unnecessarily dramatic amount of disdain, at a book that had fallen to the floor. After a moment of staring, he'd 'old man' grunt as he bent down to grab it, before standing back up, glancing down at the title, and reaching up to place it in its proper place.
/me (Laurey T. Adler) turned, glancing around him as if checking to make sure the coast was clear, before leaning in to speak to the student before him. "Look kid- I could let you off with a warning if you get movin' now, but if you keep fightin' me on this, I won't have a choice." He appeared to be genuinely trying to extend a piece of advice the kid's way, despite his grizzled and slightly enthused tone. "They got cameras everywhere in this place, so I can't speak long." He'd pause, speaking through the side of his mouth; a feeble attempt at hiding his speech. "So beat it," He'd turn, acting busy by rearranging books.
/me (Laurey T. Addler) seemed to slink away, reaching under the desk to remove what appeared to be an old, worn, leatherbound journal. He'd open it, scanning the contents with nervous fervor. He seemed to be reserved as if trying to hide. His eyes appeared to squint, as the parchment reflected against his glasses, casting mirrored lines of inky writing, across his strained expression. Whatever was inside, he certainly wasn't inclined to share.

In-Character Section
Born an unregistered and un-named child to parents he never met in the Deep South of Louisiana Laurey grew up in the destruction and wake left by hurricanes and ruins. For the majority of his childhood, he made ends meet scrounging through old collapsed houses and stealing what he could from passersby’s. During his youngest years, Laurey was taken care of by a woman whose name he never remembered as she was shot and killed by a man when he turned around 4. (Laurey had no actual exact idea of his age). When Laurey began to become more aware of his existence and the world around him, he reckoned turning himself in would be the best approach; so as a young man, he walked into the closest police station and announced his situation.
Through the legal system, Laurey dictated his legal name, Laurey Holliday Adler; his middle name being a reference to the boys' favorite cowboy movie Tombstone. Laurey also was able to decide a fitting age, as no birthday could be concluded deciding he was around 10. Laurey was placed under the care of a Louisiana orphanage and cared for in the home as well as any orphan can be in the wreck that was Louisiana. Eventually, however, Laurey saved up enough money (after achieving a job at a grocer in town) to move out of the pit he was born in. Around this time Laurey was a young teen; who fantasized about the culture and distinct differences of the exotic land of Japan, idolizing it. So he purchased a one-way flight and left. When Laurey arrived with nothing but the clothes on his back, he began doing what any man would in that situation working on a fishing boat. Laurey would stay with the owner and his family for the time. A wonderful group of people, who cared for him and treated him as family. During his stint with the fishing boat, he began attending school, at Karakura High. There Laurey grew in his physical prowess gaining strength from the manual labor and money from the consistent jobs. During this time he grew fond of aquatic animals, keeping a pet pufferfish named Jerry. Jerry would be the key as it turned out, to Laurey meeting the group of friends he’d grow to call his first family.
One afternoon, during the latter half of the school day; Laurey spotted a group of girls sitting under a tree in the grass. He’d approach them, cracking jokes about his pufferfish named Jerry and offering them another (which he’d also caught). The girls finding this hilarious would take the other pufferfish, and began calling all pufferfish 'Jerry'. Though idiotic, it sparked the friendship between the group and Laurey was now accepted among them. One of the women, a green-haired upperclassman named Dola, would over time grow to be like an older sister to the group, overseeing activities and planning things to do. Due to her upper-class status, everyone sort of respected her.
As time went on, the group became more involved in general tomfoolery which escalated into full-blown criminal activity. The first target was a clown –who wrongfully– had been pestering and scamming people. Dola, noticing Laurey as the only man involved at the time, asked him to go “rough him up” for her. So, he did, rushing over and beating the man into unconsciousness; after which he was robbed by the girls. Laurey was enthused by this, thrilled by the feeling of combat and using said combat to help his family. So the crime escalated further. The ‘Whyos’ family was formed, and from the day it formed, Laurey was named the head of the 'Street Division' for the group. This meant he was responsible for The dirty work of actually fighting and roughing people up. The rest of the family's affairs were handled by the 'Administrative Division' and the 'Communications Division'. For a while, the Communicative Division would collect information such as enemies and allies, and communicate that to the administration who would then tell the street who to beat up and how badly.
Laurey became encapsulated with this life, growing more accustomed to the brutality of crime and violence. He became feared; his weapon of choice being a metal bat; allowing him to beat people to the brink of death without killing them; enough to where they’d only remember his mask by the end of it. However; simultaneously Laurey felt loved and appreciated more than ever before in his life. He began to date a woman whom, he fell in love with in the communication division, she had been one of the women he first met at the tree. She was kind and gentle; unlike many of the other outspoken and–In Laurey's opinion– crass women of the group. Laurey held nothing against the other girls; but this one; her quietness spoke volumes. She luckily reciprocated the feelings, and as the months went by Laurey eventually proposed with a wedding ring.
All seemed well and continued to flourish until one night sitting out by the beach, the woman Laurey had now been engaged to for a year told him she simply, wasn’t interested anymore. Laurey, now heartbroken left the beach and dove headfirst into his work within the crime family burying himself. Other women would take interest, simply for him to respond with shallow affection in some feeble attempt to fill his emptiness.
It seemed that this would remain Laurey's cycle, bitterly burying his emotions in senseless acts of outbursting violence, until one day, the Administration called everyone in for a meeting. A deal with the notorious fight club of Karakura was in discussion. And so, true to name, Laurey alongside his several subordinates within the family's street division, prepared similar black suits and arrived at the specified meeting location. Immediately something was off, there weren't just a few representative members alongside his division, as was often the case. No, everyone in the entire family was present. The conversation took place within the underside of the city, near where the fight club was being held. Despite the importance, Laurey couldn't help but be distracted when the current owner invited him to spar, inside the ring. Not wanting to miss out on an opportunity, he obliged and the spar began. Immediately, the man rushed towards Laurey who took a step aside, removing a cigar from his back pocket. Again, the man swung, Laurey avoiding the hit through a small twist of his hip. He placed the cigar between his lips, lighting it. The man then, took Laurey by surprise, shifting his weight to throw a kick which landed against Laurey's shoulder. Laurey, now experienced in the art of combat, leaned into the kick, countering the man and throwing him off balance. He took advantage of his opponent's stumble, twisting into the kick to deliver a devastating leg sweep, that sent the owner to the floor. For a moment, the room fell silent, as the man picked himself up. Luckily, the owner was a good sport–what should've, in hindsight been an immediate alarm to the man– and as he brushed himself off, seemed to be more enthused for the potential alliance. Things soured, fast, however. The meeting itself had been an ambush. Figures in all black swarmed the group, taking member after member in a blur of senseless violence. Family member after family member was killed, and slaughtered by the group, and despite his best efforts, Laurey was unable to prevent it. None of those deaths would compare, however, to the soul-wrenching scream that echoed from across the room, jolting the fight, and finally causing the assault to end. Laurey turned, fully gripped with fear, as he witnessed the woman he loved, lying a bloody mess within the arms of his matriarch.
He didn't understand how to cope, didn't understand who to turn to. His family, the only place he'd found security and safety, had ended in a tragedy worse than his upbringing. He attempted to push on, after the slaughter. Laurey tried to pretend that nothing had happened however, he was entirely broken and without motivation to continue, taking his leave. He fled back to the United States silently. He knew what was left of his family, wouldn't chase him, but he didn't have the heart, or the courage to face a goodbye. He was gone for a considerable amount of time to wait, learn, and pass the time limit of prosecution; before returning a man now at peace, questionably. Despite his now, peaceful appearance and cadence, some wounds require more than time to heal, and scars remain throughout. Returning to Karakura brought back painful memories, and needing a place to work, Laurey turned towards what would likely be an opposite path to his previous; peaceful and calm, surrounded by writing, rather than fighting.

Motivation for Joining KHS (Character perspective):
"I'm tired, of living life fast. I think I'd like a job where I can settle down, and help people out for once. I enjoy books enough, and the quiet soothes my mind. I also don't rightly see a lot of older folks interested in helping out the youth. I think it's dumbing them down. Some of these youngsters need someone to teach them some manners. The way of the world, and such. Of course, I don't have the specifications to be some sort of teacher, so I figured handing out books would be the next best thing. The pay isn't bad either, and I need something to keep a roof over my head. Suppose that being a librarian would do."
Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?:
"Because you'd be giving an old man, a chance. I've lived a lot of life and wasted quite a bit too. For once, I'm trying to do something to give back to the city that gave me the only family I'd ever known. I'm returning to this city, for good, and I'd like to be able to earn my keep and provide for myself. Allowing me the opportunity to make a name for myself, through helping out the youth would be all I'd ask."
