WHAT YOU NEED TO SUGGEST OR MENTION:
[Please read until the end!]
Seeing as we teachers/professors can no longer customize our classroom anymore, I would like to make a suggestion on behalf of the teachers who teach certain subjects that would fit better in a different classroom setting. There are two solutions to this:
1. Modifying the classrooms to fit the teacher's subject.
One possible issue with this is the fact that everyone wants to keep every classroom the same.
Another issue is that what if that teacher quits? There would be no purpose in changing their classroom in specific to fit their subject.
----------------------------
So my real suggestion:
2. Rooms that will actually fit their subjects rather than modifying the classroom itself.
What I mean is adding rooms that can fit certain departments rather than having to teach in a normal classroom. Seeing as P.E. can easily use the gym, outside, and the gym room, I believe it would be fair to have other subjects, specifically Science, Music and/or Drama, Design & Technology, to have a separate room from their classroom to be used.
What will the rooms be like? Where will the rooms be? How can these teachers use them? All the questions will be answered below:
The first question you would want to have answered would be the location of these rooms. I decided to take a look around the school first before deciding exactly where these rooms can go. I stumbled upon the under-construction area where there would have been the college dorms which have been a scrapped idea. Now I'm not so sure if there's already a plan for this area but I would like to put my two cents in for this suggestion.
These areas or under construction rooms can be used for dedicated subjects. The rooms will be a Science Laboratory, Coreograpghy room, Computer Lab, and a Kitchen. These rooms can only be accessible by teachers/professors and of course the higher-ups. There will be two rooms on each side. Here's a demonstration to explain it better:
----------------------------
Science Lab - Purple
Computer Lab - Blue
Kitchen - Yellow
Choreography Room - Green
Hallways - Red
Each room will, of course, have a door of entry. Depending on what side each of them is located, students/teachers will have to either take the back or front stairs access these rooms. If it's possible, a small 1 block wide hallway can be added to the side of these rooms to go back forth between the front and back of the school.
The Science Lab will, of course, have lab tables, a "brewing" area which is where chemicals will be handled, a washing station, and many decors. The Computer Lab will have desks with computers/desktops including one of those smart boards, a station or designing, and decor. The Choreography room will have a stage, some seating, instruments for display with a piano, and decor. The kitchen will have stoves and ovens, utensils, a washing station, and decor.
Any teacher in the Science department, including professors that teach anything under Science, may use the Science Lab for lab work or experiments. Design & Technology teachers as well as professors who teach anything similar including cooking since there is catering under D.T. may use the Computer Lab and Kitchen. Drama and Music teachers including professors who teach similar subjects may use the Choreography room alongside using Gym seeing as it is hard to control your students in the gym as its more of a public place compared to a single room.
If these rooms aren't able to be here due to the staff having a different plan for this area, these rooms can also be put in vacant classrooms found anywhere in the school!
----------------
Now how will they be used? The only ones that can access them will be professors/teachers and higher-ups for teaching purposes, specifically those who teach subjects that need these rooms as said above already. The only way students can access them is when a teacher or professor can oversee them so nothing potentially gets destroyed.
Seeing how when a P.E. teacher wants to start class in the gym, they may use the command
/class start 0 20, with 0 being the gym itself as the room and 20 being the slots of people. These rooms can also be numbered 1, 2, 3, and 4: /class start 2 20 as an example. So, while teachers may keep their main classrooms for any other reason, they may also access these rooms in case they need to do any other work in these settings which fits them better.
As said before, both teachers and professors who teach similar subjects that are suited for these rooms may use them. The only issue would be when will each of them use them. This will be the perfect time for teachers and professors to use communication and either develop a schedule or both come to an agreement of who will use it today or tomorrow. These rooms will be for optional use for those who really need to use them which will depend on what the teacher/professor has planned for their class.
-------------------
Now my sole reason for suggesting this.
As said above, we can no longer customize our classrooms to the way we want and I believe this is a bit of a better alternative to that small issue among the teachers. As someone who also teaches science currently, I find it much more appealing to have more of a lab room rather than doing experiments on regular desks. Again, these rooms can be used publicly with the permission of a teacher/professors so any student may use them.
If you guys have any alternatives to this suggest too I'm more than happy to hear uwu
