Akira Accardi was born in Quebec, Canada on November 18th 2003. She grew up with her mother Elise M. Bruni, and her father Gustave J. Bruni and they spoke French. Akira was a quiet, collective child. Elise and Gustave were wanting a baby boy with black hair, blue eyes, and pale skin, but when they found out they were having a baby girl, they at least wanted her to have blue eyes, and pale skin. When Akira was born, she had ash, brown hair, and dark green eyes, with light, tan olive skin. Her parents weren’t very happy with this and since her parents had mental issues, they weren’t as loving as they could have been with Akira. A few years later when Akira was 11 months old, right before her birthday, Elise and Gustave were happy to say they were going to have another kid. Akira was also diagnosed with ADHD around this time and her parents put her on medication to calm her down, which worked very well. They found out that the child was also a baby girl, however they still hoped she would have blue eyes and pale skin. When Akira’s sister, Aceline Bruni, was born, she had these beautiful blue eyes, and pale skin, just as they wanted. Since Aceline was the perfect looking child, Elise and Gustave neglected Akira and gave their full attention to Aceline. Akira grew up with undeveloped speech due to lack of attention and support, but that didn't stop her from going on doing things she loved still.
When the girls started school, they went to a small-town school with only a few kids. Akira was struggling with writing and reading, when that’s when her teacher pointed out she was dyslexic. Every student thought Aceline was a beautiful child who was fun, nice, and kind to hang out with. Akira had no friends in school and was often forgotten. Aceline took advantage of this and started to bully Akira throughout elementary school, and since Aceline was popular, the rest of the kids started to follow what she did and bullied Akira as well. Akira was diagnosed with minor depression at the age 10, from being neglected by both her parents and bullied in school. She felt as if no one loved her and often spent her time locked away in her room, sleeping, or she’d sneak out of her window and go enjoy the beautiful city of Quebec. Her grades were slipping, and her parents would yell at her for being such a lazy, ungrateful child. They didn’t pay attention enough to know that she was suffering from depression. Akira then began to develop purple, blue, dark, baggy circles under her eyes from crying and not sleeping at night. This made the students bully her more.
Akira became a very quiet, sad, emotionless kid at age 12, and since she became quiet, she didn’t speak much French and forgot how to speak it. She spent her next 4 years being neglected, unloved, bullied, and depressed, locked away in her bedroom, doing nothing with her time, but looking outside her window. She develops a bad habit of drinking to cope with her
depression.

By the time she was 17 she decided to move away to Karakura, Japan in hopes to make new friends, and get a new start to her life.
Akira made plenty of new friends and she started to uncover her true self. She was very optimistic, happy, outgoing, and also a very stubborn person. She found that she loved swimming competitively, and learned to speak Japanese. She became less depressed and found people who actually loved, and cared about her. She doesn’t talk much about her past, and how she grew up, since it wasn’t her most favorite period of time in her life. Every time the question is brought up, she just tells them where she was born. Now that she is 18, she has found a loving family that fills that empty hole inside her from her childhood.
Since she became more of herself and found things that made her happy, she wanted to learn how to speak French again. She has gotten books, and has been studying the language for some time now. Some of the words spark her memory while others haven’t. She’d study French mostly after school up in her new room, of her new family. It reminded her of the city she grew up in and how beautiful it was as well as how lovely the language itself was; how smoothly it rolled off the tongue. She eventually got the hang of it after a while and spoke fluently.
