Describe your activity on the server:
I was Inactivite for a while due to school and other stuff with my family. I am coming back. I was only gone for about a year and I'm already getting back into the swing of things. I am planning on being on everyday for a couple hours at least maybe more. To add onto this I have also been playing for a lil over a year now doing CrimeRP/GangRP so I'm excited to do something new.
List your current roles on the server:
None at this very moment this would be first "job" inside of SRP

What position are you applying for (Maiden or Priest)?
Shrine Priest
What is your motivation for applying?
My motivation for joining is to explore a different style of roleplay beyond just GangRP and CrimeRP. I’ve noticed a recent decline in that type of RP, while more people are starting to experiment with other roleplay situations and careers in SRP. This opportunity feels like the best fit for me, especially since I’m returning after being away for about a year. I’m genuinely passionate about this and hope you’ll take the time to consider and read my application.
What do you currently know about Shintoism? Are you willing to learn more about it?
I don't have much knowledge and I'm really looking forward to see a different side of SRP with RP that I haven't ever done or explored so I am so ready to learn more about the Religion.

Backstory
Age 0 – Birth (March 12th,1995):
Kang Dae-hyun is born in Busan, South Korea, to a strict, working-class family. His father runs a small auto repair shop; his mother works long hospital shifts. From the beginning, discipline and silence shape his household. Emotions are controlled. Expectations are not negotiable.

Age 7 – Early Discipline:
Dae-hyun spends most afternoons in his father’s shop, learning how to dismantle engines piece by piece. He develops patience and precision, preferring observation over noise. Teachers describe him as intelligent but distant, always watching more than speaking.

Age 15 – First Fight:
After defending a classmate from a group of older students, Dae-hyun earns both respect and attention he never asked for. The incident teaches him something simple: restraint works—until it doesn’t.

Age 18 – Leaving Home:
Graduating high school, he declines university and instead completes mandatory military service early. Structure suits him. He excels quietly, gaining tactical discipline and emotional control that hardens his already reserved nature.

Age 22 – The Tattoo:

After a betrayal within a close circle of friends leads to legal trouble and fractured trust, Dae-hyun cuts ties. The geometric tattoo begins here. Each section is intentional, marking loyalty given, loyalty broken, and promises he intends never to repeat blindly.

Age 23–27 – Building Control:
He works private security and underground enforcement jobs around Seoul. His reputation grows—not for recklessness, but for precision. He plans before acting. He speaks little. When he commits, outcomes are decisive.

Age 28 – Present Day:
Dae-hyun lives by a personal code carved deeper than ink. Loyalty is absolute. Betrayal is permanent. He doesn’t chase chaos—but if it finds him, he shapes it into order.

CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE / SITUATIONS

How does your character act around shrine grounds? How do they interact with guests and other staff?

Kang moves through the shrine grounds with a deliberate softness, as if he’s careful not to disturb the silence. For him, these gravel paths aren’t a place to project power or authority—they are an anchor. Given the weight of everything he’s walked through, he treats the shrine’s traditions as a necessary discipline, a way to keep the older, sharper parts of himself in check. He doesn't just follow the rules; he finds a quiet kind of sanctuary in them.

When a visitor stops him to ask for directions, Kang doesn't offer a practiced, empty smile. Instead, he gives them his full, quiet attention, speaking in a tone that carries the weight of his academic roots tempered by a very real, very human weariness. He’s the person who notices a flickering lantern or a stray leaf and fixes it without being asked, preferring to let the rhythm of his work speak for him. With the rest of the staff, he isn’t much for small talk in the breakroom, but he’s always the first to show up and the last to leave. He doesn't ask for trust; he earns it through the steady, shadow-like consistency of his presence
.

You see a guest jumping around the roofs of the building and overall disrespecting shrine grounds, how would your character handle it?
When faced with a disruptive guest, Kang doesn't just react; he stills himself. There is a flicker of his old life—a flash of heat—but he meets it with a long, slow breath. He doesn't raise his voice; instead, he uses a tone that is heavy and immovable, like old stone. He tells the guest, firmly but without malice, that this space isn't meant for noise. It’s an invitation to respect the grounds, but it carries the unmistakable weight of a man who knows exactly where the line is.

If the guest pushes back, Kang doesn't snap. He simply occupies the space, stepping in with a presence that is impossible to ignore but avoids being an open threat. He guides them toward the exit with a steady hand and a quiet, relentless patience, treating the disruption like a storm he’s waiting to pass. He isn't worried about his pride or winning the argument; his only goal is to restore the sanctity of the silence. For Kang, walking away to call for help isn't a sign of weakness—it’s the ultimate proof that he’s no longer the man who solves problems with his fists.

Why does your character want to become a shrine maiden/priest? What do they wish to achieve?
"My reason for seeking to work at the Monastery stems from a deep personal connection and a desire to give back to a place that has had a big impact on my life. Growing up, I frequently visited the Monastery and sought consolation and guidance in its tranquil surroundings and teachings. For me, the Monastery has served as a light of hope and knowledge, and I am excited to contribute to its legacy. I am passionate about assisting others in discovering the same sense of serenity and purpose that I found here. I hope that by working at the Monastery, I can contribute to its mission and help the community in meaningful ways. In addition, I am eager to learn from the experienced priests and increase my understanding of the Monastery's."
