Why are Teachers so important to SchoolRP?:
Teachers flesh out the school environment, their main goal being to immerse players in the roleplay and make sure the school experience is enjoyable for as many as possible. To this end, they conduct classes, maintain a presence on campus by fulfilling their duties, and actively involve themselves in interactions that entertain student players. Without teachers, there would be no school.
In addition, they act as mentors that can guide the path of newer characters, as well as authority figures that enforce rules and create a power dynamic. When done right, this allows for stories and character development that can have effects that extend outside of the school. The teachers, like any other role, can and will have profound effects on other players.
In their spare time, teachers have their own hobbies and interests like anyone else. They should pay attention to how they act outside of school, since students will most likely not leave them alone even off school hours.
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you may lose your role?: Yes
Do you agree to undergo teacher training if your application is successful?: Yes

What's your character's full name?: Helena Everheart
What is your character's nationality?: Japanese
What is your preferred subject to teach?: Art
Describe your character:
Helena is a slightly pale-skinned woman with long black hair. Her left eye is dark green and her right is dark blue, though it is not easily noticed.
The first detail most people would notice is that Helena doesn't emote very much, if at all. She hates exposing herself, including her presence and her thoughts. She's extremely conscious of other people, and will outwardly acknowledge it if they overstep their boundaries. Due to the sheer lack of meaningful social interaction in her upbringing, Helena tends to be quite terse and clinical with her words, sometimes even a little passive aggressive. Despite this, her experiences in Karakura have mellowed her out somewhat, and her old students have known her to have a softer, caring side.
Helena prefers covered clothing, no matter the weather. At work and formal events, she prefers to wear uniforms and suits, viewing them as the truly "proper" dress code (though perhaps due to this fashion choice, people tend to mistake Helena's gender at a distance). She is a professionally disciplined individual who has a low tolerance for people that disrupt systems and the order of things. However, she is very aware of long-term consequences, and is sometimes inclined to close one eye when she thinks certain procedures are short-sighted and detrimental. Ultimately, she highly acknowledges the enforcement of regulations and the importance of maintaining her public image, but also uses her own judgement to keep things civil.
If she's doing work off-hours, she may find a café or pavilion to do her work, though in the interest of privacy she would prefer to just do it at home. Out of old habit, Helena explores the town and likes to observe interactions between people, while keeping her own presence to a minimum. She is known to follow people out of boredom, using a personally crafted methodology, and if she seems to have passed you several times on the same street in the span of a few minutes, you may be her current target.
As a hobby, Helena tends to do odd things and ask strange questions. Perhaps she's gauging the reactions of people, but it could just be that she's bored. At night when there are less people around, she also likes to wander the streets and forests alone, giving herself time to reflect.
She has no concrete plans for the future; her experience in Karakura has made her more accepting of whatever may come.
What is your character's outlook on students and co-workers?:
From her prior teaching experience, Helena already knows that many students will be rude, mischievous or otherwise slow, and knows how to deal with them in her own way. She also knows that there are good students that contribute to the class, and every once in a while, there is an exceptional student that will go on to leave a mark well beyond the school. All of this in mind, Helena is strict while conducting her class, doing her best to impart some sense of discipline, but also tries to be as open-minded as possible to cater to each student accordingly.
Regarding her colleagues in a professional light, she treats them as equals and functional adults. She will not impose herself on the methods and interactions of other teachers unless explicitly requested to, in the same way she expects minimal interference with her own way of doing things. Outside of professional duties, however, she defaults to being cold, and is not afraid to be honest if asked for her opinions on things. She will also still have her occasional habit of following them around.
What is your character's motivation for teaching?:
From a pragmatic standpoint, she was unemployed and bored, and wanted to make money. This is a way to kill three birds with one stone.
From an emotional standpoint, she felt extremely out of touch with Karakura. Having taken an extended leave from the town, she has seen many of her old students and colleagues go into new roles and grow as people. She wishes to go back to teaching in the hopes that she can inspire younger students to grow and discover their ambitions.
Roleplay Scenarios
A student in class is struggling to understand the content, what would your character do?:
Helena will go over the material again, slowing down the class if necessary. To keep things interesting for everyone else, she may try to do a demonstration or activity to illustrate her points. If this results in less time to cover certain things, she will simply cover them in a later lesson.
A student is continuously being disruptive in class, talking out of turn, and making jokes with classmates. What would your character do?:
Her first step would be tell the student to be quiet, and to whisper if they really feel the need to be quirky. If they continue their disruptive antics despite her warnings, she will simply throw them out. Helena's main focus is on teaching the class, and punishing students should not distract from that unless they disrupt the class.
Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas related to your preferred subject:
For a lesson on Composition, Helena may bring the class around the school to look for points of interest. Perhaps the library, perhaps the roof, maybe just a hallway. The lesson activity is to make an artwork with a story, and Helena would advise her students to pose for each other to imply certain stories.
For a lesson on Concept Design, Helena would invite a student up to the front of class. She would have them describe the kind of clothes they would wear. The class activity would be to have the rest of the class come up with a costume that is both appealing and something that the student would wear, while not being afraid to experiment with colour and a story behind their designs.
