"Destiny defines who you are, your destiny, is to become a yakuza."

Shibusawa-ikka is primarily an RP-based group, looking for players who are searching for an experience different from the average gang on SRP.

Shibusawa-ikka is a subsidiary family and supporting clan to Enomoto-ikka, a Japanese yakuza based in Osaka, with offices and clans all over the country, one of those clans, being Shibusawa-ikka, over-saught by Takayama Shibusawa, and lead by his son, second Kumicho Orochi Shibusawa. Shibusawa-ikka is one of the younger and more relevant clans out of the six in Enomoto-ikka, the other five being Kazama-kai, Dōjin-kai, Hamazaki-ikka, Oda-kai, and the host family, Watanabe-ikka. Shibusawa-ikka has an office on the rural side of Karakura's island, and an office in Osaka's Nishinari-Ku neighborhood. It's the only clan out of the six in Enomoto-ikka to expand to Karakura Island.

Shibusawa-ikka rose from humble beginnings, being built from the ground up in 1986 when the main five clans began to grow too large, and Enomoto's higher-ups were looking for a solution. After months of searching, a 36-year-old Takayama Shibusawa was a Shateigashira (third-in-command) in Enomoto's Dōjin-kai, being hand-picked by Enomoto-ikka's oyabun at the time, Bunta Watanabe, to run a clan of his own, one with his name as the main feature. At the time, Takayama Shibusawa had a six-year-old son, Orochi Shibusawa. At first, Takayama was hesitant, but he had been pledging his undivided attention and devotion to his clan since he was 16. He had no other choice, as he wanted to make his fellow yakuza proud.

When Shibusawa-ikka started, they thrived, this was due to a time in Japan when their economy boomed, a period spanning from 1986 to 1992 called "The Bubble". Shibusawa-ikka originally began as a band of 15-or-so loan sharks and enforcers, hired to take advantage of the economy and the people in Osaka looking to get a piece of it. Shibusawa-ikka was known for giving out large business loans with large amounts of compound interest, trapping their customers in a never-ending hole of debt. Shibusawa-ikka dominated low-income areas of Osaka during the "Bubble" period, where bad credit was not an uncommon sight, making the loan sharking business for them even more lucrative.

During that time, Shibusawa-ikka at its peak, had around 100 different sworn-in members, and over 1,300 business associates, on both sides of the law, even police, still not touching narcotics, it was surprising that the yakuza had such a strong grip on Osaka. At the time, Takayama also invested in real estate across Japan, which is how Shibusawa-ikka got to Karakura in the first place.

As years went on though, Shibusawa-ikka's member count started to decline, as well as their annual and monthly income. In 2013, when Orochi was 33, he searched for solutions. He rummaged through old files and transactions, even phone books looking for business opportunities for the clan. At the time, Enomoto-ikka's oyabun, Bunta Watanabe, had passed away, making his second-in-command, Yamato Watanabe the one to take over. Yamato was "new-school" and was willing to do whatever it took to keep the clans afloat, as two of the six clans, Hamazaki-ikka and Oda-kai were already on the verge of dissolving.

Orochi kept his search going, eventually finding the phone number of an owner of a gas station in the rural half of Karakura who let Shibusawa-ikka use his business as a front for some of their. .more illegal work. Orochi called the owner, and he agreed to keep their partnership going. Orochi sent a few foot soldiers out to the area, and after researching Karakura, he realized Karakura had one of the highest murder rates in all of Japan, along with it being extremely low on the national safety index. Orochi saw this as an opportunity, slowly expanding his yakuza on the rural side of Karakura- only just now expanding to the more populated, urban half.

In December of 2020, Orochi made his way into Karakura City, managing to spark a beef with a local gang, and household name The River. After a turf dispute went south, a Shibusawa-ikka higher-up and adopted family member, Craig Shibusawa was found dead in his apartment. Orochi took this as a sign to leave until things settled down, taking his second-in-command's death as a warning. Now he's back with a stronger, and more well-built family, ready to take on whatever challenges await him, with his eyes set on a certain group.
