blxe_sky
List your time zone and country:
Cst (central standard time), United states of America
Describe your activity:
On a scale of 1 to 10, I would say I am about an 8 for my activity. I am online almost every day. I spend about 4 hours a day but that can go higher depending on my mood!
Link any significant applications (e.g., Roles/Teams, exclude languages):
Professor application - accepted
What is your motivation to apply for reporter?:
Throughout my time on SRP and RPing, I have done many different types of roleplays. Currently I am a professor and I am also active in familyRP. Being a reporter helps me broaden my roleplay experience. I'm always looking for something new to do and different types of players to meet. I want to be active in the community and meet new people.
Do you have any experience with writing? What is your relationship with writing?:
For the past year I've enjoyed writing short stories. Sometimes they are about my characters or even interactions they have had, all the way to random OC’s I’ve made. I really enjoy writing, and it is one of my favorite hobbies along with my art. Writing is something I can turn to when I need to express my feelings or even want to kill time or relax. it's something i mainly turn to when i have art block with my drawing. It helps me clear my mind and explore different thoughts and emotions in a creative way other that my art. It’s become something I truly look forward to, and I hope to keep improving and exploring more through it.
Are you aware of - and will follow - the set of rules provided to you?:
Yes. I understand the rules and will follow them accordingly.
Why should we accept you over others?:
I believe that everyone has something special about them. For me, on top of enjoying writing, I really enjoy investigating and questioning people as well as sketching. I like getting to the root of things, understanding different perspectives. Note talking is also something that comes easy to me. I find it easy to hold conversations with people, whether it’s casual or deeper, and I enjoy connecting with people through these conversations.
Do you understand you have to stay completely neutral with all reports? (Your report can't have any OOC or IC bias towards a specific group.)
Yes. I understand. I will stay completely un biased both OOCly and ICly
Do you trust that you will be able to stay active and complete the monthly quota?:
I’m pretty confident I can hit my quota every month while staying active. I’m pretty consistent at spreading my time out evenly across accounts and with tasks. Along with this, asking questions and digging into conversations with people sounds like a lot of fun and getting to share what I’ve found through my research is just an added bonus.
Summarise what you imagine work as a reporter is:
Working as a reporter on SRP involves investigating, gathering, and communicating with different types of people. On SRP the reporter role specifically entails working on WhizzFeed(entertainment posts!), Daily Paranoia(paranormal activity/superstitions), conducting interviews(One on one with a person), handling front desk duties(attend the public or sell products) , writing reports(Forum posts focused on serious matters), And working the in-game broadcast(weather, song of the day, or a quote/joke. for the whole of karakura heh). I believe you also need to be friendly and get along with your peers/co-workers. Most importantly I believe being a good reporter is about having fun with the work

IC (In-Character) Information:
Treat this section like it is your own character answering it
Full Name:
She sat with a certain poise, one leg crossed over the other back straight. Mindlessly twirling a strand of her hair between her fingers. eyes staring out directly towards the interviewer.
"Hoshimiyu Kokoro or Just Kokoro is fine, however most people drop the formalities pretty quickly."
Preferred Name/Nickname and Title (e.g., Ms, Mr)
"Most people just call me Kokoro, though some past colleagues have taken to calling me 'Kuro' or 'Koko'. 'Kuro I believe is due to my hair"
The woman gestured towards her black hair casually. clearing her throat she continued.
"As for a title, let's go with Ms. for now as I am not married."
Current Age (25+):
Kokoro answers without hesitation, her tone steady, indifferent to the number.
“I am twenty-seven years of age. old enough to know right from wrong i believe.”
Past job/work experience:
Kokoro straightened up impossibly more, tucking the strand of hair she was previously playing with behind her ear
"I started out as a contributing writer for a local weekly in Tokyo, mostly neighborhood profiles, and community events. Nothing flashy, but it taught me how to listen."
She glances down for a moment, thinking
"More recently, I’ve worked freelance In my hometown of Shizuoka before moving here to Karakura for a change. I like getting to the root of things. The why behind the story, not just the what. And while I’ve dealt with bigger cities, I’ve always found smaller communities tell more honest stories.."
pausing she hummed in thought, more so a dramatic effect than anything.
"if you know how to earn the truth!"
Degree/qualifications:
She offers a faint smile
"I Have a Bachelor’s in Creative Writing with a minor in Journalism. Creative writing taught me how to craft a story. Journalism taught me how to find one. Both matter when you're trying to tell the truth in a way people actually care to read!"
Nationality and born location:
gave a simple nod towards the interviewer, answering clearly, beaming with pride.
"Japanese. I was born and raised in Japan. Shizuoka, to be exact."
She pauses for a moment, almost reflective
"oh how I miss the views of Mt. Fuji, and the waterfalls.."
Phone Number:
“You can reach me at 030-404-4503. I keep my phone close, and my inbox organized.”
Kokoro would reach into her purse, pulling out a pre-printed business card with her name and number in bold font, carefully sliding it to the interviewer.
How would you describe yourself in under 150 words?:
taking a moment she thought hard.
"I am deliberate and composed, someone who values clarity and quiet. I prefer observing before speaking, finding meaning in subtle details others might overlook"
The woman reached up to tap her chin now trying to find the right words.
"I appreciate routine but remain adaptable when circumstances demand, and above all, I aim to be someone dependable"
What are you interested in writing about? How will you achieve this, and would you consider going out of your comfort zone?:
The woman hummed a small glint of something came to her eyes
"I’m most interested in writing about the stories that shape communities... the quiet moments that reveal character, the challenges people face, and the resilience they show. I prioritize listening carefully and building trust with those I interview. It’s important to me that people feel heard and represented accurately..."
She trailed off in thought
"As for stepping outside my comfort zone absolutely! Growth comes from challenges. If a story requires me to explore unfamiliar territory or confront difficult subjects I’m ready!"
What are your expectations for the job?:
"I expect this job to offer meaningful opportunities to connect with the community and tell stories that matter. I hope to continue growing as both a journalist and a person. Every assignment should challenge me to refine my skills… Ultimately, I want to be part of something that improves the community, not just reports on it"
Do you have a criminal record? If so, list the crimes below:
her expression was calm and stern, almost scoffing at the question.
"No, I do not have any criminal record."
Fluent Languages (Underline your native):
"Japanese is my native language along with the only language I currently know. Unfortunately I've never had the privilege of traveling Out of Japan."

PROMPTS:
You will have to write two reports about a topic of your choice. Here we can see how pronounced your writing is and how creative you are. Use your own formatting and your own report idea. (If you're found plagiarizing an actual report or another applicant, you will be denied.)
#1 - General report. Report about a topic, informing players about an event or significant issues to Karakura.

#2 - Interview. It's important to have well-rounded questions. Create your own interview with ten questions or more. And answer them yourself.
Thank you to sharkchompr for allowing me to interview you!
[!] A soft mechanical click echoes, its red recording light blinking to life. The lens adjusts with a quiet whirr, focusing slowly on two seated figures framed by tall shelves of worn books. Dust particles drift lazily in the air, catching the light of the lens. [!]
The woman would set her hands gently on the table, mindlessly twirling a pencil in between the digits.
[Kokoro] “thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to meet with me, I'd like to start with a simple question Ms. Dubois, may I have your full name for the camera?”
Valentine smiles toward the interviewer placed in front of her.
[Valentine] “My name is Valentine C. Dubois”
Her tone is warm and gentle in her words, followed by Kokoro pausing her ministrations with her pencil to write it down.
[Kokoro] “And Ms. Dubois what is it you do for a living?”
The woman raised her brow causing Ms. Dubois to let out a small giggle, with a small breath escaping her gentle lips.
[Valentine] ”I am a professor, as I have been for about half of my life now. My subject is literary, however!”
Kokoro nodded her head gently and the sound of her pencil once again scratching on the paper laid out in front of her could be heard. She looked up once more towards the woman opening her mouth to speak.
[Kokoro] “Ms. Dubois.. what initially inspired you to pursue a career in literature?”
Valentine reminisces within her past. Her hands were neatly placed on her lap as her eyes stayed focused on the person.
[Valentine] “Well, I have always taken a liking to all of the books I read as a young girl. It was something I seemed to excel in. I felt a calling, I was drawn to it. My main inspiration would have to be the stories my sister and I were told as folklore. Something about stories and writing them seemed to stick with me while going through my school life."
Kokoro hummed a faint smile dancing her lips.
[Kokoro] “speaking on your main inspirations… Can you describe a particular work or author that has had a profound impact on your teaching philosophy?”
[Valentine] “A few come to mind, but the main one would most likely be Edgar Alan Poe or Fyodor Dostoevsky. Both authors have profoundly influenced my teaching philosophy by reminding me of the power of language to explore the depths of the human experience.”
Kokoro’s head flew back down to her paper, eyes scanning for her next question, a smile now visibly present on the woman's face enjoying learning more about the professor.
[Kokoro] “Ms. Dubois, in your experience of teaching, what challenges do you think young readers face today in engaging with classic literature in your class?”
[Valentine] “I think that the main challenge would be understanding what the author truly meant. Children these days don't seem to understand the impact that classic literature has. Another challenge would be actually reading it from a book.”
[Kokoro] “I see all very interesting points! With those challenges in mind, what advice would you give students who want to pursue careers in writing or literary studies?”
Valentine would smile at the interviewer, her heart seemed to melt with the question.
[Valentine] “I would tell students to chase that dream, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Students who want writing careers are the newest minds of literature, and I think that if they're passionate, I say they should go for it."
[Kokoro] “I see how lovely! What role do you believe literature plays in shaping social or cultural awareness?”
[Valentine] “I believe literature has a pretty important role in both social and cultural awareness. It offers very diverse perspectives, challenges the norms we are used too, and helps people foster their empathy”
Kokoro nodded her head in agreement, Her eyes trailing back to her paper.
[Kokoro] “Looking ahead, what do you hope the future of literary education looks like Ms. Dubois?”
Valentine brought her hand up to her heart, with a big smile plastered between her pinkish lips
[Valentine] “I hope that students realize their potential within their literary creativity. For myself, personally, I have a few college students who come to mind. I know that literature is still alive, because it runs deep within their veins. There will always be people passionate about literature, and I hope they act on their passion and refuse to let it die out.”
Kokoro smiled at that, clearing her throat a bit and she opened her mouth to speak, changing the direction of the questions.
[Kokoro] “Moving on to a bit more personalized questions.. Are there any literary genres you feel are underappreciated or misunderstood?”
[Valentine] ”Poetry. A lot of people don't understand it nor want to read it. But it is very understandable when reading it."
Kokoro snickered a bit nodding her head in understanding
[Kokoro] “simple and straight to the point i love that, and What do you think makes a literary work timeless?”
[Valentine] “I believe that the passion and time you spend on the work makes it timeless. Anything written can be literary, but the ones I mean are the ones riddled in their passion and drive.’
[Kokoro] “How has your own relationship with literature changed over the course of your career?”
[Valentine] "Over the course of my career, my own relationship has changed for the better. I started writing my own pieces, as well as read more literature that appears to be getting banned in most places. I surround myself with books and I read, way more than I should. Literature is now a part of my everyday life, as I read in a manner that could be seen a religious”
Kokoro let out another snicker nodding her head in agreement
[Kokoro] “sounds like me when I start writing! As for my final question, this pertains to a report I'm currently writing Do you think phones play a role in why students may not engage with books and literature in its physical form?”
[Valentine] “I believe so. Many students can just search up the book name with a 'free copy' or a pdf at the end of it. It removes the purpose of picking up a book if you can just pick it up within the palm of your hand. I think that if phones weren't as advanced as they are today, that more people would pick up a book. Phones are able to show people excerpts from books and words that they won’t be able to understand without the full book. It unfortunately defeats the purpose of a book itself."
Kokoro nods, taking in the information for a moment before looking down and scribbling on the paper.
[Kokoro] “thank you once again Ms. Dubois for taking the time to come out and for letting me ‘pick your brain’ for a bit so to speak!”
[Valentine] "anytime! what a pleasure this was!"
The two of them shared a laugh for a moment before Kokoro stood up from her chair bowing deeply in respect towards Valentine grateful for her time.
[!] The frame shifts gently as Kokoro walks toward the camera, her figure moving steadily. Her expression is unreadable, thoughtful, perhaps as the distance between her and the lens narrows. Just as her hand reaches forward, the screen flickers for a moment. Then Click. The tape cuts to black. [!]
