What is your discord name & tag?:
Hoeqq#3837

Previous bans:
N/A

Describe your activity on the server:
If I had to, I'd rate my activity roughly a 7 out of 10 currently, this applies for all my accounts too. I recently have finished my schooling and officially graduated so I have quite the amount of free time, meaning I am able to devote more time and my activity will be heavily increased. However some days may differ to others due to my job, although I can guarantee at least 2+ hours each day.

What is your timezone?:
AEST/AEDT (GMT+10/11)

List your current and past applications:

What experiences do you have with roleplay?:
RPH has really been my main form of RP experience besides a few minor servers such as potterworld.mc and small discord servers. I've been playing SRP on and off since late July 2016, from then I have expanded in my role-play skills; although at the time it was mainly within the student role but now currently I've been able to try and explore new roles within the server, gaining roles such as: College Councillor, Swim Team, Swim Captain, School Nurse, English & PE Teacher and College Professor. These roles have allowed me to expand more on my role-play skills and grow as a person. I've also role-played within smaller roles such as AnimalRP and GangRP. I have also role-played on FRP experimenting with detailing my actions and writing. As mentioned before majority of my RP experience has been within the RPH community.

What is your motivation for applying?
As mentioned before, I've spent most of my time on the server immersed in the roles situated in the school environment and mainly that alone. My primary motivation to applying for EMS would be to gain a slight change in role-play settings. I find the role of EMS very intriguing and like the idea of working with a lot of detailed writing. I've seen the server grow since 2016 and watching these new factions pop up created this overarching goal of wanting to eventually be involved with one. One of my many reasons of choosing to apply for EMS and EMS specifically would be the group of players that are a part of the team. I know quite a few of them and get along well with all, which would also make It easier for myself to fit in. I also have quite a range of background knowledge on medical terms, operations and what it takes to be a skilled healthcare worker.

Which role are you applying for?
(Surgeon, Doctor, or Psychiatrist):

Surgeon

What knowledge do you have of Hospital Work?
I have quite the expansive knowledge on Hospital Work OOCly and slightly the way it's ran ICly, however this is what I can gather; Most medical staff members are healthcare professionals who examine, diagnose, treat and prevent injuries, illnesses, and other impairments. Their primary goal is to diagnose, provide treatment and care for those with health complications. Overall promoting good health and well-being.

What is a Surgeon?:
A Surgeon is typically able to remove diseased tissue or organs, repair body systems, or restore diseased organs with transplants. Surgeons can be general surgeons and perform any type of surgery, or they can be specialised, like heart surgeons, brain surgeons, dentists, or veterinarians. All surgeons are physicians, but not all physicians are trained and qualified to the same degree as surgeons or not at all. Surgery involves the cutting of the individual's tissues or securing/closure of a previously sustained wound/injury. Surgery can be performed on a human or an animal in order to repair and diagnose internal problems.

What do they do?:
Surgeons operate in the serious event of illness, injury, or disease, and perform a number of different surgical procedures on the individual's body. Occasionally surgeries are performed to correct problems in the body or to investigate the cause of internal bleeding. Surgeons conduct specialised procedures and are in charge of all aspects of the surgery process. They overlook surgical technicians and make sure all standards of care, ethics and safety are being followed in the operating room. Surgeons can perform non-invasive and uncomplicated short procedures that last just a few minutes, or invasive, serious and complicated surgeries that take several hours. Since human life is threatened, surgeons must stay and be alert, prepared and situated for all types of emergency situations, and be qualified and able to carry out lifesaving initiatives at any given time throughout a surgical; procedure. Surgical procedures are categorised by importance, type of procedure needed, the body system involved, and the degree of invasiveness:
  • Elective surgery - Is performed during non-life-threatening conditions and is done by appointment usually depending on the surgeon's availability.
  • Semi-elective surgery - is conducted to prevent permanent disability or even death, but can also be put off for short periods of time.
  • Emergency surgery - is performed quickly and efficiently to save life, limb, or functional capacity.
  • Exploratory surgery - is used as an aid in confirming certain diagnoses.
  • The****utic surgery - is conducted to help diminish or improve a previously diagnosed condition.
  • Cosmetic surgery - is performed to improve and alter the appearance of an individual that is considered otherwise normal structure.
Surgeons have the option to choose and specialize in one particular area of medicine and perform surgery related to that area, such as:

Cardiothoracic Surgery
Pediatric Surgery
Obstetrics Surgery
General Surgery
Colorectal Surgery
Vascular Surgery
Urology Surgery
Musculoskeletal Surgery
Plastic Surgery
Oral & Mallofacial Surgery
Bariatric Surgery
Brain Surgery
Otolaryngology Surgery
Podiatric Surgery
Ophthalmology Surgery

As well as this, there are many other roles and the Hospital staff are split amongst the following:
  • Hospital Director: The director handles all administrative functions of the hospital. They run the hiring process and supervise staff. The director also enforces hospital policies and manages fiscal affairs.
  • Clinical Manager: The clinical manager’s duties are similar to the director’s. However, they do not carry the same executive power. They work closely alongside staff and guide the director in their duties, such as hiring, supervising, training, fiscal affairs, and general management.
  • Clinical Lead: There are a total of three clinical leads, with one of each from the three following branches: surgeon, doctor, and psychiatrist. The clinical lead watches over their branch and communicates with the hospital manager and director to guide in supervision. They also provide feedback to their branch and ensure that everyone within the division is getting their work done.
  • Attending: Attending workers have completed all their training. They no longer need close supervision and can go off-duty. Each of the three branches contains attending surgeons, doctors, and psychiatrists.
  • Surgeon: Surgeons are trained to carry out a variety of operations, such as suturing, removals, biopsies, tracheostomies, ect. Surgeons typically work in surgical teams to handle some patients.
  • Doctor: Doctors diagnose and prescribe medications to treat their patients. They can administer a variety of treatments and tests, such as IV therapy, cardiac catheterisation, X-Rays, CT scans, and MRIs. They may also order and inspect laboratory results to gain a proper diagnosis as well.
  • Psychiatrist: Psychiatrists diagnose mental health conditions and prescribe medications to aid in a patient’s recovery.
  • Interns: Interns perform basic duties under the supervision of an attending professional or clinical lead. They may take patient histories, make treatment suggestions, provide provisional diagnoses, and conduct physical examinations.

SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY
What is your character’s medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?

Neko’s medical specialty is General Surgery and Emergency Medicine. She had chosen these as her main area of focus purely out of interest and her own skill. Neko found that she was able to really apply her skills and knowledge into something that involved regularly helping out patients in need. She also focussed on this specialty as she looked up to fellow staff within this role who encouraged her on her academic endeavours.

What medical residencies did your character take after medical school?
After graduation, Neko was placed into a 5-year General Surgery residency at the Tokyo Medical University Hospital and an additional 3 year residency in emergency medicine at Tokyo-Shinagawa Hospital where she spent most of her time working within the children's ward.

Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?
Yes, during her residency Neko also worked as a Surgical Assistant and an Emergency Nurse.

Has your character completed any additional schooling?
None other than what was included in her PhD

SECTION 3: CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique?

The Japanese female stood at just 5’4. She’d have a slim yet fit build along with a semi-hourglass figure. Her wavy pale blonde hair cupped her face perfectly, showing off her angelic features. Her shimmering eyes glistened with oceanic amber. Usually seen with her RBF (resting bitch face), occasionally smiling, probably at a picture of a cat... Hidden, she’d own a tattoo of a Shinto Shrine mural across her left shoulder blade.

How does your character act on and off duty?
On duty, Neko comes off as very serious. She keeps an open mind and carries a sense of maturity with her. She strives to present herself with the upmost professionalism at all times. Her face, seemingly always almost lacking emotion and persona. However when she’s done with her patients or talking to closer co-workers, her bubbly side starts to appear out from her shell and she will come off as more animated. This side of her tends to come out a lot more when she is off duty, where she’ll spend time with her family and out doing activities she enjoys.

Does your character function better on their own or with others?
Neko is on the fence between both work settings, she can easily adapt with both options. However as independent as she gets, Neko functions better working in a team environment, whether that be with other surgeons, assistants or standby nurses. The job is done more efficiently and she gets to keep a shred of her insanity as the day moves on.

What plans does your character have for the future?
Neko has dreams of moving her way up through roles within EMS, but outside of this, she wishes to build a family of her own and explore Karakura even more. She hopes with this new work opportunity she’s also ble to branch out and meet new people as well as become a reliable figure and someone who which the public can look up to.

How is your character perceived by others? How does it contrast with their perception of themself?
Neko is viewed as an ambitious hardworking individual with a good heart. Some believe she is a perfectionist and an overachiever especially when it comes to her studies and past academics. Neko however, sees herself as not the best, she is always unsatisfied with herself and will work harder and harder each day to change that about herself. Neko will strive to become the best version of herself possible. She also is perceived as a social hermit at most times as she rarely takes time off her studies to socialise with others; on the odd chance she does, she’s not normally making new friends rather just sticking to the ones she already has and knows.
