Describe your activity:
I've been really active since I joined a few months ago. I’ve been working through irl college and, though I've got a lot on my plate, I still find myself logging into SchoolRP almost every day. It’s a really fun way to interact with people and make friends and I’ve honestly been addicted to it hard. So like, your basic SchoolRP player.

What is your motivation to apply for reporter?:
I've had my eyes on joining factions ever since I started to love roleplaying on SRP. Including my self into the community and gaining more opportunities to roleplay and have fun with everyone else is one of the biggest reason I'm applying to reporter. It's a bridge that would allow me to not only enhance my own experience, but others as well.
Do you have any experience with writing? What is your relationship with writing?:
I don’t have any CRAZY experience with writing, but I’ve had my fair share of times where I’ve written a thing or two for fun. That’s the bridge that connects me to writing, for fun and creativity sake. I’m very into fiction and stories, sometimes writing my own or just making fun plotlines for the hell of it. As of late I’ve joined the journalism club on a character I play almost all the time and actually my first school news report! I’ll even link it below if you wanna take an extra look at how I write in my pieces.
don't be shy take a look
Are you aware of - and will follow - the set of rules provided to you?:
Yeah of course. I’d be sure to follow the rules and correct any mistakes that may arise.
Why should we accept you over others?:
I can't lie, if I could, I’d just reply that I'm just a fun lil guy, but of course there’s always more to it. I find a lot of value in lighthearted tones and chill vibes, no matter how cringe it might be to say. To be cringe it to be free, but anyways- I’d add an atmosphere that’d feel inviting and, not to brag lowkey but, draw others in for fun talks and good times. Though sometimes I can find myself having hard times doing things in life I always push myself for the better, that’s a great quality that's good to have in your roster. Would I be committed? Of course. Would I be dedicated to the roleplay? Of course! There’s a lot that I have to say to sell myself, but I’d like to think that what I chose could be something unique that’d be good to point out about myself!
Do you understand you have to stay completely neutral with all reports? (Your report can't have any OOC or IC bias towards a specific group.)
I could’ve sworn there was something about this in the Journalism Club application and I was gonna write about it but there wasn’t, so I guess I’m a liar. Anyways, read and understood!
Do you trust that you will be able to stay active and complete the monthly quota?:
Oh yeah, staying active and writing reports are no issue.
Summarise what you imagine work as a reporter is:
The work done as a reporter is well. . . in the name. To write and post reports. But I feel like there’s just a bit more to it all, the work of a reporter stemming out from their papers and into the behind the scenes of it all. Like just how hard the work might change based on a number of things. Time and place, getting to know events, how relatively easy it is for you to go up and talk to people, all skills that change how hard it is for a reporter to get work done. But all those other factors coincide with how well a reporter can twist a story to make it more enticing to the eye. The creativity, the visual appeal, ways to grab and hold onto attention. It’s a wild amount of things that all lead up to words on a page, no matter if it’s to inform or ask, or simply exist. So yeah, the work of a reporter is to make reports, but it includes all the intensive factors that take time and effort to make the report in the first place that counts as well.

IC (In-Character) Information:
Treat this section like it is your own character answering it:
Full Name:
He’d take a look around the office, his eyes meandering around the interview room as he finally settled onto the people sitting in front of him.
“Hellooo~ It’s nice to meet y’all. My name is Isidro Baquiran.” He’d slightly raise his hands, shrugging his shoulders a little as he leaned back into the chair.
“But hey, we aren’t strangers,” He’d smile, making eye contact with his interviewers. “Feel free to call me by my first name.”
Preferred Name/Nickname and Title (e.g., Ms, Mr)
“Yeah, Isidro's fine with me. And the title, well, I go by mister.”
Current Age (25+):
A small glint of light glazed over his eyes as he squinted, the corners of his mouth raising a tad.
“Ah! Well, I’ve actually just turned 26 a few days ago,” He’d respond, letting out a soft chuckle. “November 9th, that’s the big day~”
Past job/work experience:
“Hmm. . . I wasn’t doing much back then. I was mostly in college for my degree and then flew out to Karakura a bit after for family reasons. Now, here I am.”
Degree/qualifications:
His head would perk up at the mention of academics, something he would look to take pride in.
“Ah, well I actually got into school relatively early!” He’d lean forward, placing his elbows onto the table. Crossing his fingers to create a place to rest his chin. “But after a few years I’ve graduated with a Masters in Journalism and a Bachelors in Communications.”
He’d wave his hand, leaning back into his chair.
“Good times, good times.”
Nationality and born location:
“Filipino-American, though I haven’t gone to the Philippines in quite some time. . .”
Phone Number:
“Right, here-”
He’d reach onto his bag, pulling out a velvety green business card with umber accents. The creme colored texts displaying his information.
“Everything about me can be found there, but (030)-395-3716 is what I got on there,” He’d finished before crossing his arms. “Feel free to shoot me a call anytime.”
Finishing his sentences, he’d follow up at the end with a simple wink of the eye.
How would you describe yourself in under 150 words?:
His eyes would raise up to the ceiling, fingers tapping on the desk as he formed his thoughts.
“Well, if I couuuld, I’d probably talk about myself for hours on end,” He’d grin, rolling his eyes a lil as he cringed at his own words. “Sorry, that was, ugh-”
He’d raise his eyebrows, scratching the side of his head as he returned his gaze to the interviewer.
“Right well, I like to keep things simple, casual. Like conversations between friends. I’m not one for the high end or superficial. . . fancier things. I like it where we’re at, ground level. That’s one of the best ways I could describe myself.”
What are you interested in writing about? How will you achieve this, and would you consider going out of your comfort zone?:
“I’d like to write about the more exciting portions that happen within the city streets. The world is always full of danger and disasters that always seem to make it out into the media, but where’s all the good?”
He’d straighten his back, his eyes darting back to his hands and the eyes of his interviewer.
“There’s always something good going on in the world, that’s what I’d focus on. Even if it meant going the extra length to find more, tracking stories back to the source, even if. . .”
He’d take a pause, his eyes resting a little while longer on his hands. Twitching at the thought in his mind, flicking back up soon after.
“Even if it means reaching out to anyone and all, a story that can bring a smile to a face in the world is worth it, right?”
What are your expectations for the job?:
“I can’t imagine the job would be easy, but hey, what in life is? I expect that I’ll have to push myself harder than I’ve ever had to before. There’s only so much I know, and while ignorant, I’m not one to screw myself over because of my pride.”
A softened look appeared in his eyes.
“I’m sure there’ll be tumbles, but I’ll have people there to help me out through it all. That’s a big expectation I’d like to have. A community that’ll help me out when I’m struggling on the job.”
Do you have a criminal record? If so, list the crimes below:
His eyes would widen at the thought, shaking his head and hands in denial.
“No! Uh- god. . . I couldn’t even imagine!”
He’d huff in surprise, a small laugh leaving him.
“I’m not at all cut out for that sorta lifestyle. Not with my morals. . . and most definitely not with my below average strength.”
Fluent Languages (Underline your native):
“I’m really only fluent in English and Japanese, though I know a bit of Tagalog, if that matters.”
PROMPTS:
You will have to write two reports about a topic of your choice. Here we can see how pronounced your writing is and how creative you are. Use your own formatting and your own report idea. (If you're found plagiarizing an actual report or another applicant, you will be denied.)
#1 - General report. Report about a topic, informing players about an event or significant issues to Karakura.

#2 - Interview. It's important to have well-rounded questions. Create your own interview with ten questions or more. And answer them yourself.
[!]
The video fizzes in towards an empty tunnel, the passageway only lit by the singular lines of LED’s attached towards the wall. In steps in one male, a tan skinned individual with plush blonde hair. Adjusting the camera, he’d fidget for a few seconds before landing in frame with a second individual. . . A tall formed figure in black attire, a mask covering any features that could give them away.
[Isidro] “Hellooo all of Karakura! It’s Isidro Baquiran here once again with a new friend! Say hi!”
[Masked Individual] “. . .”
[Isidro] “Uh. . . haha- Uh, right! So-”
[!]
The masked individual would take hold of the camera, inaudible whispering was heard through the mic. The two of them. . . bickering? Either way, the tall individual would let go of the camera, the two returning back in place.
[Isidro] “Ok! Uh. . . Tall person- I’m glad I caught you! I was just thinking about them-”
[Masked Individual] “Them?”
[Isidro] “Oh the- The uh sprays, I mean. Your spray paintings! Especially the one you did just a. . . second ago.”
[!]
The individual sat there, crossing their arms. A simple nod was given, Isidro visibly excited at the response.
[Isidro] “So! Tell me, Masked Mystery, for a lil personal insight, when did you really start to notice the spray paint markings appearing around Karakura? And if I may ask about your first one?”
[Masked Individual] "Hmm. . . Noticed them? Well, hell, I’d say nobody takes note of any single spray ‘less I made ’em. First one went up in the back of an abandoned railway. Nice lil quiet spot. No cameras and all the time in the world."
[Isidro] “So you’re an artist huh? You got a reason to pick the places you choose to tag?”
[Masked Individual] “You tryna rat me out?”
[Isidro] “I- No! No, trust I wouldn’t-”
[!]
The masked individual would chuckle, clearly laughing at the male in front of them. Isidro sighs, relaxing his shoulders a little, rolling his eyes in a playful manner.
[Masked Individual] "Sorry, I’m messin’ with ya. The places we tag aren’t random. They're where they need to be. Where the people can see ‘em if they ever cross that path. That’s what matters."
[Isidro] “So you do it for the look? Or is it the message?”
[Masked Individual] “Uh. . . Depends. Sometimes it ain’t about messages. It’s about the territory. A sorta mark, if you wanna call it that."
[Isidro] “Oh, a mark! Like a spot to place in the town for you and your people. I can’t imagine the other civilians in the city seem to take a liking to the work?
[Masked Individual] "Again that just depends who you ask. Some people will always call it trash. Some will stop and look, call it a style. But it doesn’t really matter to us, not like we tryin’ to impress critics."
[Isidro] “And the police?”
[Masked Individual] “Tch, what about them.”
[Isidro]“Well, I can’t imagine the police, much less the government, have good things to say about these spray paintings.”
[Masked Individual] "Course not. They always got sum opinion or theory ‘bout us but. . . most of ’em wrong. They think we’re loud, attention seeking. But the truth is, the real work happens where they ain’t lookin’."
[Isidro] “Oh I think I catch your drift! You know, I swear these things pop up almost overnight! The designs change almost in the blink of an eye.”
[!]
The two sat in silence, a little awkward atmosphere surrounded them. The masked individual once again let out another laugh towards Isidro.
[Masked Individual] "I wasn’t talkin ‘bout the sprays but you know what, sure. After all, sometimes overnight’s the only time worth working. Time doesn’t stop for people like us, so we don’t get our chances to wait."
[Isidro] “Damn, seems like a lot of pressure, no? Getting things together, moving out in time, it sounds like a race against yourself.”
[Masked Individual] "I don’t know where you’ve been but everything in Karakura’s a damn race. Time passes, pressure builds, people choose sides, and others are left behind. I, we, just make sure to make our presence last. That’s partially what these images are for."
[!]
Again, another sit in silence moment. Though, the odd tension from earlier seemed to be nowhere to be seen.
[Isidro] “Passionate. . . It’s sorta amazing.”
[!]
The masked individual would seemingly look the man in the eyes, his crossed arms slowly falling down to his sides as he laid his hands in his lap. His tense figure slowly softened.
[Masked Individual] “Amazing, huh. . .? I’ll keep that in mind.”
[!]
Isidro smiled towards the individual, his eyes widening once again as he continued.
[Isidro] “Ah, right! Well- uhh. . . just a few more things, if that’s fine with you!”
[Masked Individual] “Aight, shoot.”
[Isidro] “I’ve seen some sprays done by the shopping district. Have you personally had local businesses or property owners take action against them? Cleaning, covering. . . maybe even framing?”
[Masked Individual] "Agh well, it’s the popular areas like that, that can be tricky. Just like how we place them up in seconds, some scrub ’em off the next. But some leave ’em up ’cause of how it wards trouble off. Kidna funny how easily they change their minds once they see the value in us. Kinda like you."
[Isidro] “Like. . . me?”
[[Masked Individual] “You’re using me for this lil interview, ain’t ya?”
[Isidro] “Ah. . . Pfft- I guess so! But I’d like to think the work doesn’t change the way people should be treated. . .”
[Masked Individual] “Tsk, you tell me how that goes in a few months. Then get back to me.”
[!]
Isidro couldn’t help but chuckle at the person’s word, the individual laughing in return.
[Isidro] “I’ll be sure to, I will.”
[Masked Individual] “Then I’ll be sure to keep your face in mind, Mr.Baquiran”
[Isidro] "Hopefully for good reason!”
[Masked Individual] “Course.”
[!]
Isidro would look over at his watch, noticing the late night creeping up on them.
[Isidro] “Right well, one last thing. The identity, the name you share in the sprays. From your perspective, do you think you add to it all, your people and the civilization of Karakura?”
[Masked Individual] "Damn uh. . . Well, if you’d wanna think of the town as a whole, Karakura’s kinda got its own pulse. We just one beat in it all. But it’s that beat that shows we exist. We keep this town alive, that’s on us. That’s our identity."
[Isidro] “M’kay well I’d like to think I add to the liveliness of the town-”
[Masked Individual] “Ok bud, just let me aura farm.”
[Isidro] “Arua farm. . . you really just-”
[Masked Individual] “Yeah you're done.”
[Isidro] “Wait-!”
[!]
The masked individual would reach over to the camera, the screen fizzing out and shutting into a blurred picture as the video came to a stop.
