Celeste is a stoic, intelligent, and mysterious girl who tends to hide her feelings, similar to Kyoko (Her VC). She speaks with high confidence, despite feeling none inside of her. A lot may go on behind her calm demeanor, such as feeling as if she is not living up to her family expectations, and even thinking that she might be one of the worst people in the world. For what reason? She's unsure. The thing is, she will never actually tell you her problems because she doesn't want to be a contributing factor to your stress. She's been bottling every negative emotion up for many years, including depression.

Backstory:
It was almost a miracle day for the Italian family. Almost as if a new star was born, one that would be the brightest in the sky, and one to be remembered by dozens of generations to come. This child was almost like a gift bestowed upon the heavens in the eyes of the Mafia. Almost as if it was a game changer. Whatever magic that God himself bestowed upon the child was almost like a direct gift from the heavenly deity himself. It all started with her azure blue eyes, almost like the ocean which perfectly matches her personality and aura. The ocean can be either calming waves or raging tsunami’s waiting to destroy anything in its path. Why should all this information about her be shared with you? Who is the Mafia? If Karakura is in Japan, why are we talking about Italy. Well, in order to share the upbringing of the gifted child in the Devereux family, I must inform you about the family themselves, and how they put themselves in the situation that they were in.
1946
It all started with two brothers who had been forced by Nazi’s in the 1940’s to move from their home country of Poland to Hungary, where they lived a rather secretive life, not keeping a high profile. Times were hard in the once beautiful and thriving country. Due to The Great Depression, Hungary was hit hard in terms of economic status. The worst hyperinflation was occurring, making an entire month of a man’s salary just enough to buy a single egg. As a result, a major amount of crime was present, protests turned into riots which turned into manslaughter. While all this was happening, one brother named Damian who was only fourteen, was only attempting to survive with his older brother, Adam who was slightly older at sixteen. They had to make it out of the country. They had to move somewhere. Even if it was a fascist country, at least the inflation wouldn’t be as bad as Hungary. They knew about the risks of the Hungarian border patrol. They knew they would die. But their hunger. Their instincts had told them to shrug off the risks and make a run for it. Either they get detained and executed by Hungarian border or die of starvation and sickness. Days and nights turned into weeks and months until the duo was given somewhat of an opening to escape the hell that their country had to offer. The border patrol was at lunch, and overconfidence led to them giving an opening for anyone to leave. So, Adam decided to give it a try, whilst Damian wanted to save all the malnourished children, and hopefully cross the border into Slovenia. After arguing for a solid 2-3 minutes about their decision, the brothers decided to split, and Damian went back to the city and gathered all the children he could to try and escape Hungary once and for all. Unfortunately, not all can be helped. But we’ll get back to that later.
For now, Adam was running as fast as he could into Slovenia. Adam remembered the days when he would play football with his brother, running as fast as he could with the ball to try and score. Unfortunately, in the football match from long ago, Damian was able to catch up to Adam, and push him whilst he was running at full speed, which resulted in a leg injury. He remembers his unfortunateness, and now he shall learn from his mistakes and run no matter what. This isn’t a game anymore; this is real life. He made it across the border after long minutes of running that felt like long, gruesome hours. He made it. He escaped hell and made it to Slovenia. Although he knows his story doesn’t stop here. He plans to take a boat to Sicily, as he has strong family ties with an already existing mafia boss there. He could easily get a ranking in the mafia, wanting to level up his position in the mafia to boss so she could make his own rules. It was all but a fantasy for Adam as of right now. But he could not stop wondering what happened to his brother.
The cross from Slovenia into Italy was rather difficult, although way easier than the escape from Hungary. It was only hours into this newfound country that Adam realized that he had no support system here. He knew nobody in Slovenia, and never even spoke the language. But in order to survive, he had to learn basic sayings in the Slovenian language. He tried to look for someone to tutor him, although nobody was willing to help except for one man. This one man ended up aiding Adam to the point where he could speak conversational Slovenian, and eventually, Adam put his trust in this Slovenian man named Leo. Leo had a boat that could possibly get from the Slovenian border to Italy via the Mediterranean. He was a calm man of around 32 years of age, willing to do anything to help friends out in this crisis. It was a hard goodbye for Adam to say, although he knew to achieve his dream, he had to move on.
He set sail from Trieste, planning to sail all the way to Venice to stop for a re-supply, and fully move to Sicily. Adam was alone on his long trip to Venice by boat, and he couldn’t stop thinking. What happened to his brother? Did he make it out? Is he in Italy already? Was he executed? These negative thoughts ran through his head and stressed Adam out to the point where he was almost ready to give up... It was a dark, starry night during Adam’s boat trip. He would lay down on the front of the boat, watching the stars, hopeless. He asked God why his people must go through this. He himself and millions of other people were dying, starving, and nothing was happening. None of this holy spiritual magic that was mentioned in the bible was happening, yet it feels like end times. Adam was wondering how long he would last in this cruel world. Everything was going to end for Adam. He gave up. Until he saw Sirius. The North Star. He was weirdly inspired by Sirius. Despite being many light-years away, the star still shined valiantly for many generations and eras. The star shined brighter than any other in the night sky. Despite competing with billions, trillions, potentially quadrillions of numbers of stars, it still chose to be the greatest among them. He was inspired by this, and decided to keep going. He, if not him, one of his family members will be Earth’s Sirius. When Sirius was formed, it never just gave up trying to be a star, all the elements and steps needed to form the star continued for years until the process was done. The results? Something that will be respected, seen, and studied among civilizations for millions of years. Why give up on a simple boat ride. He shouldn’t be thinking about what could’ve happened, but accept the greatest possibility and move on with his life. Adam stood up on his boat, and screamed at the top of his voice that he was going to be the greatest. He was going to be the most reigning Mafia boss there is with a story that could be told for generations, and that he himself had a power that nobody else had, and that would be the courage to never fall, never surrender, and keep going…
1972
Years have passed, and thankfully, Adam was able to make it to Italy, and eventually after many days without sleep and constant training as well as stealth, precision, and training his reactions, Adam was able to successfully become one of, if not the most deadliest hitmen in Italy’s complete history. His footsteps almost sound silent, thus being able to easily kill people without much of a fight. Adam was legendary during his time, and because of his status, he was promoted to Underboss, just a little while away from the role of Godfather. The boy was a man now happily married to a beautiful Italian woman with three children. Ever since these children were a young age, they’ve known about what their father does, so naturally, they would attempt to become a part of the Mafia as well. It was a night away from Adam’s promotion, and as the Underboss was getting ready for bed, he had heard a faint door slamming sound from his living room, so naturally, he went to check it out. It was nothing? Just in case, Adam went to take a peek at the room of his children to see if they had snuck out, and as usual, Stasius (17 y/o), the eldest, had. He complains about them doing their stupid antics the night before the biggest day of his life, but hey, a father’s got to do what a father’s got to do. Adam went to look for Stasius in the vast city of Palermo which was successful. Although what came after this was definitely unexpected. Stasius pulled out a whole assault rifle from his back, staring at his father, saying how he controls him, and “The Mafia” will give him a raise if he is able to kill one of a major rival mafia’s Underbosses, soon to be Boss. With a heavy heart, Stasius shot his father right up until he bled out, and after he realized what he had done (Stasius), he cursed himself for killing one of the only people who cared for him just for a Mafia that never saw him as anything due to his low ranking.
“It was for another Mafia, wasn’t it?”
Stasius chooses not to respond orally, but slowly nods his head with eyes shifted to the starry night sky.
“I knew it. Goddammit Stasius… you were a smart kid. You could not have become like a doctor or something?”
While Adam laughs to himself, Stasius starts sobbing, kneeling down on the hard, cold concrete, throwing his rifle around 3-4 meters away from him. Adam realizes that it would be too dangerous to reveal any future Mafia plans to family members, as you cannot even trust them. Adam’s last words are the following.
“If you plan to continue with this, never tell your wife, your kids, your brothers. Nobody about your status. You got me Junior?”
Stasius promised on it. He promised to never reveal the Mafia in his life which ended up benefiting the family in the long run.
1990
Now Stasius must go through his own struggles, and eventually, he was able to achieve what his father did not. He was now a Mafia Boss, as a matter of a fact, he was a major ally with the same Mafia that his father was in. Stasius himself now had children of his own, as a matter of a fact, he had four of them already. The eldest was Bella (12 y/o) and after that was Luciana (10 y/o) then fraternal twins both of 7 years of age, Alessandro and Andrei. All of his kids strived to be something in life that was never related to crime due to the way that their South African mother had placed strict rules on them. Bella wanted to be a doctor and had the potential to. She constantly gets good grades and is very well-mannered. Luciana wanted to move to the United States and become a surgeon, Alessandro and Andrei both never decided on what they wanted to be in life yet, although everything would change when they would discover a book written by a certain German communist a long time ago. Although not proficient enough in reading to fully understand what Karl Marx was talking about, Andrei was somewhat inspired. Everyone gets the same thing? That truly sounds like a utopia. No poverty and no overly rich people. It was a beauty in concept. Before Andrei even knew what to do in life, he knew he had to revive the USSR somehow. It was dying. Andrei knew that communism was the only way out of our “corrupted” societies, yet he wondered why it was failing for all of these countries. It enraged the 7-year-old as much as a politically concerned 7-year-old could get. Basically, he didn’t care, he just wondered why communism was failing, and he wanted to be a political figure when he got older.
Well. That failed. For some reason, Andrei’s family decided to take a business trip to Russia just to see everything going on in the falling country. This is when Andrei realized that utopia’s don't exist. No matter what, a perfect world cannot be created by an imperfect society. He saw malnourished children, as well as once strong, rich men now on their knees, begging for breakfast so they can supply their family. The 7-year-old thought that he could take matters into his own hands by stealing bread from a seller, and giving it to a hungry man on the cold, Moscow street. Unfortunately, the seller noticed, and ran after the child as if he were to kill him. So, by pure instinct, and just like his grandfather, he ran as fast as he could throughout the city, hoping to not get caught. He made it to a safe enough placer after long minutes of running that felt like long, gruesome hours. But now, he was lost. He had no idea where his family was, nor could he possibly try and find them. Well, now Andrei’s gone. But we’ll get back to what he did in another backstory.
Meanwhile, Alessandro was worried sick for his brother. Weeks passed by since Andrei’s disappearance, and Stasius tried everything possible to find his lost son, but to no avail. You might be thinking, why is only Andrei getting all the misfortune? Well, it’s about to get a whole lot worse for his fraternal twin brother. Alessandro was on a plane ride to the United Kingdom to visit his cousins right after leaving the falling USSR. It was a dark, stormy night. Lightning was able to be seen from the plane, whilst it was going through the worst case of turbulence ever. Then, the unluckiest thing happened to Alessandro and his family. Lightning struck the plane, which destroyed one of its engines. People were panicking, screaming even. Some were passing out of shock. Alessandro barely knew what was going on. That is until the impact had happened. Luckily, the plane was over land, and it ended up crashing into the Scottish wilderness. The plane's explosion was able to be heard from kilometers away, although nobody was close enough to hear it. There were absolutely no survivors other than the 7-year-old boy, who was now in the same situation as his brother. Alessandro was alone. He couldn’t get his mind off of the same thing every hour of the day. What happened to his brother? Is he safe with someone? Is he in another country? Was he killed? These negative thoughts ran through his head and stressed Alessandro out to the point where he was almost ready to give up. It was a dark, starry night during the 7-year-olds several kilometer journey just to find someone. He would lay down in the grass, watching the stars, hopeless. He asked God why innocent passengers must go through this. Alessandro was wondering how long he would last in this cruel world. He was malnourished out in the middle of nowhere. From the primary school geography lessons that they taught, he could tell that he was still in Europe. Maybe in France, who knows? Why would it matter at this point?
Hours after the plane crash, Alessandro was looking around to see if anyone was there, and luckily, he was able to find someone. A girl who seems to be around his age along with her father who looks to be in his early 30’s. The girl exclaimed to her father that she saw an injured boy, although Alessandro couldn’t tell since he never learned English. Her father realized, and ran to the boy, checking up on him, placing him on his shoulders, and carrying him back to their house that they had around half a kilometer away from where they stood currently. Alessandro was treated to a meal, and had made a new friend. His new friend’s name was Alice, which was the girl I talked about earlier. Alessandro couldn’t communicate to the man via English, so he was lost. But something unexpected happened. The man introduces himself as Henry, who can speak fluent Sicilian Italian. After that revelation, Henry could finally get answers from this boy, although when Alessandro introduces himself, Henry seemed to be a lot less outgoing than when the duo first met. Two days later, Alessandro is led to London, the capital of England where Alessandro claims where his cousins are.
2001
Years later, Alessandro learns English, and is rather thriving in his cousin's house in London, where he is now being raised and going to school. He is now eighteen years of age, and had taken a trip to Italy with his cousins for a family reunion. There, he meets several of his family members, although he is still disappointed to see that his brother was not there. He walks down a certain aisle that was walked by his father when his grandfather was killed by pure coincidence, and of course, Alessandro wouldn’t know the story behind his grandfather's death, but it seems as if life repeats itself. Andrei was spotted, although his expression never seemed excited despite not seeing his brother for years and being trapped in the USSR. As a matter of a fact, he seemed angry, enraged even.
“I’ll give you one chance Alessandro.”
“W- What do you mean? Brother! I haven’t seen you in so lo-”
“Silence, you join the Mafia, or you die”
An assault rifle was pulled by Andrei, and it was aimed at the floor. Alessandro fell into shock. His own brother becoming a criminal? What mafia is he talking about? Why is he not excited to see him?
“What… Mafia”
“I could’ve killed you right on the spot for a fortune of euros for what you did all those years ago, but I’m giving you a chance to join my side. Accept it, will you not?”
Alessandro stared at his brother sternly with much anger, although you could see it in his eyes. You could see the sadness in his eyes. He hasn’t lost his brother physically, although mentally. He’s as gone as his parents.
“You were such a good boy Andrei. And you join some Mafia?”
“Leave the past in the past. It was the only way I could get out of the place you all left me in.”
“I didn’t leave you there, and what did I even do?”
“Join it or I will assassinate you and your friends a block back.”
With no choice to pick, Alessandro reluctantly picked to join the Italian Mafia. Alessandro essentially disappeared from society, training in hiding with his brother to become a hitman. Although killing was something that the boy was greatly against, he had to learn how to unless he gets killed. Plus, he was exceptional at it too. I guess this will be his new lifestyle in the Sicily Mafia until he can find some way out.
2005
Time went on and on, major events happened, and Alessandro is now a considerably high ranking in the Mafia. He is also held in some of the highest regard among the men. He is said to be equivalent in skill to the “Night Killer” ninja that may occasionally work with the Mafia. He married Alice, the girl he met hours after the worst moment in his life, where they happily lived in Italy. Lately, the family ties between everyone has been getting weak, nothing new is happening. Almost like before the Universe was made. There is just emptiness, although one person. One girl that will rise above anyone else in her family and be hoped to achieve the impossible was brought into this mortal world. Celeste appeared.
Celeste is what brought the family back together and filled the empty sky with brightness, like the North Star Sirius. This child was almost like a gift bestowed upon the heavens in the eyes of everyone thus far. Then her shiny, straight, blonde hair. When Celeste was in the arms of Alice, she was calm, she stopped crying as soon as she saw her mother. She was a peaceful baby. She slept silently, like a ba- Wait. She is. I’m dumb.
Early Life
Now, Celeste is my OC, so obviously she’s going to be the one talked about the most here. She was able to start reading (somewhat) at a very young age. As a matter of a fact, at the age of just 2, she was able to read a simple book. She reads books in Italian, attempts to speak in Italian, and overall, Celeste is doing really well. In everything a toddler should be up to this point. Due to her fathers business with the Mafia (Which nobody knows about except Andrei) and her mothers constant work hours as a surgeon in Italy, Celeste was really either with a baby-sitter, or alone in her room. She was mostly quiet, even when out in public. She would just be in the corner, twiddling her thumbs. Even in Primary school she was silent. Although there is one thing about this girl that none of her other family has, and what coins her the nickname “The North Star” among her family members. Her intelligence, especially for a 6-year-old, was insane. She would constantly not try at all on her rather elementary tests whilst others struggled. She was also a very loving child, having the strongest connection with her parents. She was an only child for all of her life, so she was able to get all of the attention, and she was the one that shined the brightest in the family. She was the one that had the most expectations out of everyone, and she damn well knew that. She was in fact, annoyed that all this attention was placed on her just because of a family peril that is happening currently. She struggled to make friends in primary school even though she was one of the prettiest among everyone. She was certainly popular, although her insecurities limited her social ability. She would constantly be worrying she was never worth what she really was. What if everyone pushed her too hard? What if she could not do the impossible. Many have tried to approach her, but ever since she was little, she was too intimidating. She barely spoke to other people by choice, yet she was always the main topic of the school. Contrary to now, she grew and hit puberty a bit before others, which makes her one of the tallest ones in her primary school. She confused her sheer intimidation with people not wanting to start a conversation with her, and always asked why. Why does she have to be an outcast? Is there a reason behind her not being able to talk to anyone? Will she ever get out of this constant loop-hole of going to school and doing the best she can, and going back home with her family expecting more. She knew her family was proud of her, but Celeste wasn’t proud of herself. She never found anything she was interested in. Not a sport, not a subject. She was getting top tier grades
2018
Celeste was now a teenager, aged thirteen. The girl was spoiled badly, getting whatever she wanted, although interestingly, she humbled herself greatly as well. Her life wasn’t all that interesting to her until she found out something groundbreaking that would change the course of her life forever. She was walking through a familiar aisle with her father, and luck never seemed to be on their side. Andrei was in the same aisle that the two brothers reunited at, waiting for Alessandro to give orders on what to do with a target. Andrei was pissed to see that Alessandro not only forgot about the whole meet-up but brought his daughter to territory that the two considered their own.
The duo would be walking down a street, talking about all the great times that they had in different countries of the world, when Andrei appeared, and cursed his brother out for being so irresponsible
“You brought your daughter to Mafia territory? How stupid of you, Alessandro.”
“Uncle Andrei?”
“What Mafia…”
“I understand. You haven’t told Celeste yet. I thought she would understand? She’s smart enough to.”
“You haven’t told Anastasia either, so why should I tell my daughter? You know what, I’ve had enough of this mafia thing, screw you and your Mafia! Tell the boss I quit!”
“Poor choice brother.”
The same assault rifle that was said to be used if Alessandro never followed the rules was pulled out for a 2nd time, and used immediately. He was shot three times. Twice in the right soldier, and one in the neck, which was near deadly. Alessandro became unconscious immediately, and Celeste fell into shock. She started screaming loudly, and crying waterfalls when she saw her father fall to the floor. That was one of the only people that she could talk to about… anything. That was one of her only motivators in life, and now he was dead at the hands of her own family member. After the unfortunate events happened, the police were called due to a witness being involved, but Andrei was able to knock out Celeste, kidnap her, and drive away.
It’s been… how long again? Celeste in the back of a van, all tied up. She couldn’t even speak, nor move around. She couldn’t find any way out of her situation, nor did she have any idea of where to go or why she’s here. But then she remembers. Her dad was shot. She ended up crying and banging her head at the side of the van for the entire near 2-day-drive. She was starving, bored, depressed, angry, nearly every negative emotion a human can feel was being felt by Celeste right now. When Andrei opened the car door, a sleeping Celeste was peacefully doing her actions in the corner, not having anything else to do.
To make a long story short, she was fed, and taken to a private area near Moscow, where she was tried to be converted into a mafia member, although no matter the torture, the threats, the pressure, Celeste never chose to join, unlike her previous family members. She knew that they would never kill her due to faintly hearing a conversation between Andrei and his trusted Mafia member saying that when Celeste complies, she’ll be taken to China for training. That she would be a godsend to the Mafia due to her reported intelligence. The intelligent young girl shoved it back in the now aged Andrei’s face about their plan, and with nothing else to do, Andrei took a train from Western Russia to the more Asian, Eastern Russia with Celeste. She knows her training in China will turn her into a machine used for evil purposes, but she knows deep down that this will strengthen her as a person, and make her worth something other than intelligence.
2022
Time flew by for the young, now grown Celeste. Years have gone by ever since she stepped into Beijing. She had traveled to many Chinese cities, but particularly stayed in Western China for her training. She was trained by Western Chinese monks that have somewhat of a fake connection to the Sicilian Mafia. There, she was able to master the arts of the Tibetan White Crane. She was able to pick up on Mandarin Chinese after a few years of living in China. Honestly, her life was as peaceful as ever, and she was heavily inspired by Chinese culture. Sure, she wonders how she’s going to get back home, but she has adapted to her new life in China. But now it was time to test the results of her training. Andrei contacted his niece, hoping to use her for a mission. Celeste, naturally being considerably competitive, decided to travel to Sicily to perform a mission. Her first time ever attempting an assassination was on an innocent looking man which Andrei tricked into thinking that that innocent man was a criminal in the sexual offenses, she was able to do it quietly, dropping behind him ever so quietly off of a tall building almost as if she was a video game character. She then went up behind him, and suffocated him from behind. The man tried to scream, but to no avail, as his mouth was covered. After his suffocation, she made quick work of the man, killing him whilst unconscious. Although in her eyes, the guy who she killed was terrible, she couldn’t help but feel like ending several decades of progress in life so quickly, making their death a dishonorable one.
She would keep getting tricked into doing more missions, as a matter of a fact, over 15 of them up until she was about to kill someone, and they admitted innocence. She could tell that it was genuine, and Andrei was tricking her into killing innocent people, thus making her a criminal. Although, she was never caught, which means she still has time to escape Sicily. She only wanted to kill the criminals, not bystanders. She had to move somewhere? But where…
“You should move to Karakura! It’s where I live and I’m making lots of new friends here!”
“Really? I don’t think I’ll need that many friends personally… I just want good ones.”
