In as much detail as possible, describe the employee role you are applying for:

The Chef faculty role is a position within the Karakura Educational System providing sustenance, service and cleanliness to the Highschool and College grade students. Chefs are responsible for care of the school kitchen, preparation of all consumed goods and service to the academic populace. The Academic success of a student is greatly influenced by the quality of their diet, so such a role is vital in ensuring that the Karkuran youth have the energy that they need.

What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?:

My experience is broad, I have been involved in roleplay since the age of sixteen, organizing writing and participating in various sets of rules and systems. Whether it’s on the table with paper pens and dice, or through a screen with a mouse and keyboard, I know my way. I have been graced with the environment of SRP for a some 5 years give or take, and am quite familiar with the community, ruleset, and expectations for the behavior out of character as a role-player and in character as a realistic yet

Why do you want to join the School Employee faction?:

I would like to provide a unique and detailed interaction of substance and fun, as well as give players both new and old an example on how things can be done. I see this role as an opportunity to both grow as an individual, but to share said growth through example.. As “Seneca the younger'' a Roman philosopher states: “While we teach, we learn” I have also been curious for a while what it would be like to interact with SRP from the perspective of an alternate age role for quite some time, and I felt like now is as good a time as any.

Situations

During a work-shift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how does your character react?:

My character would react by addressing the language.

Elliott turned his head towards the youth with a jarring speed. His braided hair bounced with aggression in his movement. Addressing the student by name, he spoke firm and self-assuredly:

“Redirect your passion into something useful, and mind your profane tongue; this is a center of learning, there is no space for your curses.”

You notice two students are physically fighting in the hallway, – multiple punches have been thrown – how does your character react?:

My character would react by proceeding with these actions:
Backup call upon sight.
Initial Verbal warning paired with approaching for further assessment.
Second Verbal warning, threatening detention, and physical involvement. ( Separating the fight. )

Upon glimpsing the brawl before him, Elliott’s pace quickened- no longer was he aimlessly wandering the hallways. His accelerated pace was directed towards the scuffle. Approaching them he yanked his school issued faculty radio from its place on his belt and gripped it tight- the pressure of his large hands depressing the button on the side. “Fight in the east wing hallway again, requesting backup.” As he wormed his way through the adolescents, Elliott would attempt to surpass the brigade of hypnotized bodies surrounding the delinquents entrenched in combat; without impacting them violently in any capacity. Elliott barked:
“MOVE. THAT’S AN ORDER.”
If he was resisted, Elliott would resort to leveraging his strength, wedging himself between them. He raised his voice once more issuing a second booming command:
“BREAK IT UP OR I WILL SEND YOU ALL TO DETENTION.”
He had ensured his intentions were clear; and such words foreshadowed a stereotypical cook’s anger arousing: Although such a turn of events was unlikely, his body language and expression indicated an ambiguous eventuality.

Another school employee is clearly acting inappropriately, doing something very dangerous on the job, how does your character react?:

My character would react by proceeding with these actions:
Approach the situation and try to conduct a reasonable conversation.
(A): Conduct conversation privately and call authorities.
(B): Conduct conversation and call authorities.

Elliott approached his colleague directly, placing a hand on their shoulder in order to gain their attention; speaking concisely, the Chef addressed the colleague by their name; “I would like to speak with you privately.” Gesturing towards a place of privacy where this behavior could be addressed without the witness of students. If refused, Elliott would not hesitate to remind them of whatever policies they were opposing or risks they were creating on the spot. Elliott would also make it clear that in addition to the behavior being inacceptable that he desired the best for the individual; they worked together in creating a safe and efficient academic environment for students: they’re on the same team. He would encourage them to stop at once and do better for not only the sake of their employment and reputation, but for the example set for the pupils. Upon finishing his confrontation Elliott would immediately contact whoever was in authority, making them aware of the details.

When in the employee break room, how does your character act?

Elliott spends most of his time in the kitchen, but if found there he would be sharing a recent culinary creation. He often brings leftover pastries to pass around to lift the spirits of his co-workers. Elliott is a Chef in every sense of the word, professionalism comes above emotion. Unless when tasting a masterpiece: if he is enjoying something particularly excellent or flavorful you can tell. Hums of pleasure and shaking his pinched hands expressing his favor towards the dish-

Provide us with at least three detailed /me's of your character whilst on your chosen role:

/me Elliott reached across the counter-top to the magnetic bar ornamented with various cutlery, Grasping the cleaver, Elliott pulled it off with little to no resistance taking the blade to his station; all the while pointing it downwards. :”CORNER SHARP!” He clearly announced, indicating its presence to the rest of the kitchen. Placing a cloth underneath the Hinoki cutting board, he brought the cleaver upon the peeled carrot awaiting him. The carrot fell apart as intended, but the total pressure exerted into the process seemed off. Particularly disgusted, his face turned sour as he habitually ran his finger across the blade to test its edge: the knife was dull as a rock.

/me Returning to the aforementioned countertop, Elliott procured the Honing Steel from a hook beside the rack of knives and set it aside the sink alongside the obstructively diminished cleaver. Ducking beneath his station, he re-acquired. This was Elliott’s proverbial box of tools; and such a cook as himself went nowhere without them. Unstrapping the velcro holding each side he would unfurl the bag like a scroll, revealing a set of pristine knives; much more exceptional in quality than the ones provided before him. However; the one day where a cleaver was required was the day he had left it at home. Elliott was already aware of the lack of a proper tool, and wasted no time searching for it; his intent was to sharpen what he already had. Unzipping the side of his bag, Elliott rummaged through various other utensils and kitchenware, ushering three rectangular green structures into the light. Reinstating his position by the sink, he placed them each side by side on the spotless metal workspace. Turning the faucet on, Elliott moistened the surface of each of the whetstones by flicking his wrist, letting out some pent up frustration with his exertion. The droplets sprayed; gathering in pools atop the steel. Although it seemed careless Elliott knew he would be cleaning up the space once it was done regardless due to the dark water that would fall to the sides of the grinding blocks.

/me Sparing no time he directed the worn and rather large kitchen knife at an angle and sc****d it across the whetstone, lifting the blade and repeating the process where he had begun. This took some time, and although the process was tedious; Elliott’s focus was consistent. He steadily guided the blade along until the entire length was sharpened, gripping it firmly. Turning the blade he repositioned it to his other hand, steadying it with his dominant. Finding the angle once more on the alternate side, he continued his process; driving the knife across the rough orthogonal stone with grating sc****s . Once he was done with this stone, he was onto the next. Such a process was time consuming, evidently why it had been avoided for such a long time. Elliott pondered at how a cooking space had left their metal in such a state; the longer you go without sharpening your blades, the longer of a painstaking process it becomes. Concluding the process, Elliott took the honing steel and sc****d away at the blade, confirming that there were no burrs that could potentially get into the food. His exasperated thoughts brought him through the drawn out procedure at what seemed like less time; but the clock begged to differ: Elliott spent fifteen minutes on the cleaver alone.

/me Elliott cleared off the space where he had sharpened; rinsing and drying the stones and replacing the vacancy in his bag where they belonged. Splashing more water across the sink, he rinsed the surface. There was not need to sanitize metal shavings; so the gray water was wiped clear leaving the countertop as lustrous as before. Finally wiping off the knife he migrated to his workspace; “CORNER SHARP!” Placing the bag underneath the table Elliott faced the halved carrot: positioning his fist over it he guided the cleaver with his knuckles and sliced the carrot lengthwise at around one third of the length. Turning the carrot so that it stood on the section he had just cut, he guided the acute knife into the orange vegetable at a comfortable pace; filling the room with the sound of rapid dicing. A smile crept onto his face as a pile of one centimeter thick sheets of the carrot gathered. Stacking the sheets three high he would cut into them lengthwise, conducting a julienne cut. Now satisfied, he would flip the cleaver backwards; placing the lip of the bowl in the expanse between the steadying cloth and the board. It was not long before all of the stringlike cuts of carrot were shoveled into the transport pan: the large surface area of the knife was instrumental in expediting the transfer. The chopping process was replicated until the pan was full, leaving the stockpile of peeled Carrots empty and the Chef’s job done.

Backstory
(OOC)

Elliott Antonio was born on June 3rd, 1999* in San Marino to Luna and Georgio Antonio. The couple had been married a year before his conception; and the pressure on his parents had been clear since the beginning of their relationship to have a child: Georgio was one of the few men in the newest generation of Antonios, and such a large family immersed in tradition had begun to become concerned that the family lineage. Such pressure was directed onto Elliott Antonio, all eyes were on him. He was an only child, and although his upbringing was initially incredibly supportive, it devolved into scrutiny regarding his father down the line. His early life was soft and cushy, he was privately educated by tutors and cared for by butlers. Such a life was perceivably normal to him, isolating him from the world and instilling a naïve and limited perspective. Whatever he or his parents did was watched and judged by the extended family, which were equally pompous. When Georgio decided to partner with his brother in law opening a garage, this observation and presupposition turned into negative criticism. Marcus, who was perceived as the Chaotic lowlife American, with nontraditional practices, and a dangerous appearance; was quite the practitioner when it came to Automobiles. This caution was not entirely unwarranted, as the brother-in-law was deeply involved in a handful of shady auto related businesses. Effectively, it would have never been a problem: Marcus handled his business well and kept the Antonio's in business. Without his clientele, and unique transaction methods; the Antonio’s garage would have gone into severe debt and disrepair. Unfortunately this did not affect the rumors, and noxious nature beyond Elliott and his parents. The majority of the Antonios living in Rome ridiculed the branch of the tree concocting a reason to make their connection to the inheritance illegitimate: This method including Georgio, his wife, his sister Sofia, her husband Marcus, and both of their children worked, surrounding their names in a circulation of disdainful dirt-dishing. Elliott was shielded from this feud due to the convenience of distance and youth, but the distance did not shield his father. The disconnection from the family and their resources they had always had access to and were promised to inherit burned a deep insecurity into his father; he could no longer provide what he believed to be important to his family. The product of this insecurity changed Giorgio's once love for his son and desire to share his experience and knowledge; becoming the same dream his relatives had. He dreamt that his son was to become an heir to the pride and fortune of their Automotive shop like his ancestors before. To show the relatives that he had made the right choice and that his pride could be solidified. a false lifestyle that Elliott wanted nothing to do with. Luxury Automotive work was a family business, all of the Antonios had mastered the practice and wrenched metal into art. The reputation was rightfully existent, the majority of them outperformed their competitors where it mattered regardless of circumstance. A desire for perfection in his son’s work consumed Georgio: causing him to lash out in outbursts of rage and verbal abuse. Elliott began developing trauma associated with most high end trade services in general in addition to a requirement to perform. At the age of 9 he needed encouragement in order to independently begin his pursuit, not caustic correction and an expectation to build and lead an automotive empire. He could not perform in something he had no experience in, so he turned to where he was encouraged: The Kitchen with his mother. Both the craft and product of the kitchen became a comfort to the boy at an early age- a process that whether he failed or not would be met with a smile from his loving mother. This had the young Antonio associating cooking with love. So as any sensitive boy would, he pursued it. Elliott applied as a preparations cook at a nostalgic restaurant whose owner they had come into good standing with before his family's aristocratic connections were burned. Regardless, he didn’t need the money; his parents were still financially stable. What he did need was more knowledge, and he made that known to the Presiding Chef. He was in love with the discovery; and could not stop yearning for it. The Chef started him out small, but he quickly outgrew the roll, transferring onto the more complicated and fast paced section of the restaurant. The kitchen became his home: whether he was punched in or not the young man could be found cooking, preparing and organizing the space, studying the expanse of methods and recipes, or performing maintenance. This love for cooking grew like watered weeds as Elliott became closer with his cousin Romulus, now given the opportunity to share his creations and processes with someone his age. Romulus was a great listener, and although he did not entirely share the same level of passion for the art, the two grew in their relationship through it. This brotherhood was a savior to Elliott down the line: when he was required to move out of the house as hard times caught up to his parents, Romulus provided a place to live where he was to study in Japan, Elliott had nowhere else to go, so he packed his things; ensuring to bring his cutlery and kitchenware. This culture change was a shock for Elliott, he moved to the apartment a few months before Romulus was even able to make the trip; as he was delayed putting the finishing touches on his car from his father’s place in Tahara. Elliott knew barely any Japanese, and since Romulus was not around, there was nobody to teach him at this time. The only effective way he knew to get through to the locals was to cook. Had it not been for the half broken portable propane stove that he had brought with him, Elliott would surely have had a hard time connecting with people, which had a direct influence on his provisions. Making ends meet by cooking and selling whatever he could find to passers-by in the streets, the young spirited cook shared his love for the art of cuisine with the locals of Karakura, introducing an Italian palate with a dramatic flair. Those surrounding him saw his passion, over time some became regular customers at his pop up shop. Some even invited him into their homes. Such a connection meant so much to him: the time, recipes, methods and food that was shared were what kept him positive as he was separated from his family and friends back home. Not only did this occurrence bring him closer to the folk of the Island, but it inspired a new business venture: a private chef service. These intimate settings were natural for Elliott, and brought in a sufficient amount of much needed yen. Once Romulus was finished and progressed to Karakura the harmonic relationship between the two cousins was rekindled, and their efforts towards creating a quality living space fed off of each other. Romulus increased their state of living through the plenty of money he made working for the local Akihito offices through ‘bodyguard work,’ as well as street racing; and other underhanded businesses schemes; all of which Elliott knew nothing of. In turn, Elliott ensured that Romulus’ diet was nutritional and dynamic, experimenting further with expensive ingredients and more complicated Japanese cuisine. Romulus taught Elliott Japanese, and Elliott taught Romulus more how to cook. As time passed the two became wealthy for their age, and Elliott set off from the town returning to Italy, further pursuing his culinary studies at Cordon Bleu culinary college spending two and a half years traveling the world, experiencing a range of taste palettes and expanding his knowledge of the craft; something he would not have been able to do had his cousin not paid his tuition fees. Upon receiving his diploma and completing the rest of his studies Elliott makes his way back to where his independence began in Karakura.

Returning there, Elliott finds that the home that the two had so lovingly built together is gone, along with his cousin. In order to regain a sense of financial stability, Elliott applies for a temporary job at the school; in order to provide funding for a living space and aid in the search for his cousin.

Motivation for Joining KHS:
(IC)

I am interested in sharing my passion for cooking, and improving the quality of life for students. Nutrition is paramount in contributing towards the body's energy, and I believe that all students should be provided this. If you don’t have energy, you cannot study. Had my education in culinary arts concluded, I would be applying for a teaching position; as I believe gifting students with the capability of creating this reality would be much more beneficial in the expansion of their lives entirely.

Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?:
(IC)

Initially, I have a desire for inspiration and influence towards others through cooking and teaching students in addition to the prerequisite skills and knowledge in order to carry that out: I have 7 years of professional experience across a variety of job descriptions in culinary settings, and have acclimated myself to any and every role in the restaurant space. I also have four and a half years of experience participating in addition to directing a volunteer kitchen.
