I pretty much tend to play more towards the later hours in the day and occasionally during mid-day hours as well. This means hours at a time as I have a very large and active family and friendgroup to be around, especially in school. List your accounts and roles on this server: Subarctica - PhD xAngeles - 2 profiles! Professor & Adult Are you aware that inactivity can result in removal from the council?: I am indeed! TRIVIA QUESTIONS What is the student council and what do they do?: The student council is the median between faculty and students. Some can think of this as an aid, however they are tasked with maintain a standard of discipline, self control and professionalism. The Student Council help organize events, monitor the halls, set an example for other students, and more over, hold one another to a standard. This all to be the help of the faculty so chaos does not break out. Not to mention working events, helping in or even hosting detentions, and making sure fellow college students do their duties and get to class. What motivated you to apply for council? (e.g. Interests, friends, etc.): I've considered joining the Councillors since the character I am applying with is one of the most responsible people you'll ever come across. I know this position would benefit his personality along with the schools! Not to mention I've interacted a lot with the councillors given I have a professor account, and the group of individuals I have met were really cool people. I know this is a good fit for me and my character! Are you aware that you’ll be having to use your creativity and teamwork ethic within the student council? (e.g. Coming up and helping with events): Yes! This is actually part of the reason I want to join, so I can help with events, work with others and get to meet more in the councillors section! Can you list the roles in the council along with other roles that might be important to the council?: Well there are the Councillors, overall who are the protect and serve almost like police force of the student body representation. To break this down: New Councilors - which are fresh off trhe boat into the program that are learning the ropes and getting acclimated. Along with the main councillors, these make up the most of the council population. Training Committee - They pretty much do as their name says and help in training the new councillors. Basically like coaches and those who prep the incoming councillors. VP and President - The lead the councillors and stand as the top dogs to the student body government. They are the ones who submit the plans for events and lay down the plans for how each will be run. School Faculty - The adults that handle a lot of the heavy work. These are your teachers, professors, chefs, nurses and etc. Anyone that makes up the school employee listing that the councillors are meant to help out in time of need and chaos. Student Leadership Team - The highest branch of the school faction. This is the Vice Dean/Principal and the Dean and Principals. IC SECTION SCENARIOS You’re patrolling the school and you walk by two girls verbally harassing each other, but they didn't pay mind to you. What do you think is the correct way to go about this? The correct way to go about this is to give verbal warnings. More than likely I will help them to understand that it is best to walk away from one another. If all else fails, then I will let them know detention is the next move. If they fail to separate, Detention will be issued and I will escort them both away. More than likely this means stepping between the two before anything CAN turn physical, and breaking it up. A student refuses to take their mask off after you’ve brought up detention and they’ve run away! What do you do? Radio it in to my fellow council members, let a faculty know via direct confrontation, or if none of the above are applicable, make a report to SLT. There has to be at least one camera that would have spotted them put it on or take it off after all. Not to mention wearing any attire in school is not the smartest idea. And even so... all the above options are to be done. There seems to be a councillor abusing their powers! They’re being exceptionally mean to a student, causing the student to be defensive or scared. How would you step in? Approach said councillor. We have a standard to uphold first and foremost. Not to mention I believe in accountability- meaning I hold myself accountable to tell the councillor what they have done is wrong before reporting their actions to any of the applicable higher ups. Such actions are unacceptable and should not take place. The councillors duty is to prevent toxicity within the school, not encourage it. You seemed to miss a few pieces of information during a meeting, how would you go about getting that information? Ask questions after the meetings conclusion by pulling the speaker to the side for confirmation on what I've heard. Just because I made a mistake does not mean I should hold up any of the members in the meeting, not to mention it is best I have a full understanding of the situation at hand rather than end up guessing and cause a mistake leading to a failure in the event or whatever is taking place. A teacher/receptionist has told you that you are doing something that goes against what you were trained by your higher-ups. How would you react to this? This depends on the situation: If I was directed to say.. stop a fight or argument and ended up having to give detention, I would inform the faculty that I am doing as I was trained, and refer to them the situation best explained from my own point of view. Now if they are correct in judgement, I am a person of accountability like I said. I will apologize to whomever I affected and accept the punishment given to me. After all, I am in a place of leadership and have to display that at all times, especially when confronted with my own wrong doings. Please provide atleast one detailed event that the council can use as a future event to showcase your creativity! (Must be 300 words or more for one event): A good event would be a day where faculty can express the subjects they teach. Kind of like a career fair day, or an Orientation for lack of better terms. The Time and Location: This would be located on the baseball field and surrounding sidewalks, more than likely done after school on a Friday so that there can be a longer attendance and less worry of students staying out too late and interfering with their sleep and waking up the next day. The layout: There will be two pathways that branch out in a semi-circle pattern with a single path to the middle. starting from the pool side of the baseball field acting as an entrance to the event. The entrance will have both respective mascots or some identification of the high school and college paths. Each side will be decorated in their respective color schemes. (High School Red and White, College Blue and White). Each path will move in a large circle around the center. College Side: The right-side path will start with the booths and tables designated for the college as professors that teach their respective subject would be towards the entrance. In the next section, the clubs will have their booths to talk about what they represent and their ideas. This can mean future events planned and recruiting. At the end of their side, the sports teams. Save the best for last. This can come with a roster list, photos, trophies and awards, etc. Then the college side path will end meet the High School Side: The left side path will follow a similar layout, except with teachers. The majority of school faculty will also be on this side, meaning the caretakers, nurses, chefs and tutors. There will also be a segment advertising the college exams. Then comes their clubs and sports following that. The Center: At the center of the paths, which will have multiple entrances, there will be 2 small stages, one decorated with spartan emblems and memorabilia, and the other decorated in a similar fashion, except with the bobcat material where teams and clubs will come and give a short presentation. This is also where cheerleaders can perform, and the Vice Principal/Dean or Principal/Dean can come up and talk about the morale or talk about upcoming events. This is also where venders will be- such as flowers in the bobcat and spartan colors, flasks that represent each school, and food venders to keep everyone well fed. This can be water, sodas, hotdogs, burgers, and other food items. During the times where there are no performances or introductions, music will be played and this area can be used as a relaxation. Tables to eat at, and a small dance floor. Personal Information (in character) Name: Ishiki Ōtsutsuki Gender: Male Age: 23 Phone number: (030)-245-6558 How would you describe your personality?: ISTJ - I've been told I have a more.. serious personality. I have patience to a certain degree. And by that I mean I do not tolerate disrespect, however I am not an aggressive by nature person. Ilike to hear all sides of the argument before making my final judgement. After all, in all claims there is a commonality and there is a difference. What separates is right from wrong and I want to make sure I align more with which is right. Whether that be a situation with a person or my own beliefs. Appearance/attire (Please provide a picture): What separates you from other applicants seeking your position?: I value professionalism over anything. Though I understand many do as well, I am a core believer that professionalism is the best step in the right direction. As a councilor, there is a standard to uphold whether that be to survey, protect or do the best to help out the school faculty as best as possible. I also am a person to want to improve. This meaning I do not simply want to be a councilor, I want to one day be the president and lead as best as I possibly can. Why do you want this position?: I want this position because I want to showcase my leadership and strengthen my judgement abilities. I know I have every qualification on either front, however I see this as an opportunity to not only improve the well-being of the student body, but to improve my own skillset. I want this to be a pathway where I can be the best version of myself in the long-run, and show how I have improved in the short run. What interests you the most about student council?: What interests me the most I'd have to say are the connections to faculty and to students. Being a bridge between both has given me the motivation to want to join as this is a position that requires the responsibility to perform under stress and ease. I know this work environment would benefit both parties as I can bring a lot of ideas to the table in terms of how to create a better space for the students and the faculty and fellow councilors. What could you contribute to make the school a safe and fun environment?: By helping enforce the rules and work harder to bring about a better community between staff and students. This means well planned and thought out events, better communication between both parties of staff and students and overall leadership that proves college is not just a come and sit in class, but an experience in which students have a sense of belonging and that one day they too may be inspired to join the council program. |
