Out-Of-Character Information

What is your Minecraft username?:
CookieButACat

Do you have Discord (If so, what is your discord username?):
cookiethatisacat

What is your time zone?:
EST/EDT

Describe your activity on the server:
I’m very active on SRP. I’d say I’m online for a minimum of 2 hours daily, if my schedule allows it. Typically, I log on around 5-6pm EST and stay online late into the night.

Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you will be demoted?:
Yes, of course!

School Employee Role you are applying for?:
Librarian

In as much detail as possible, describe the employee role you are applying for:
School librarians play a vital role in education. They help students to find books and provide library cards. Librarians inspire students and support them in their educational journey, encouraging them to learn and explore new topics outside of class. Librarians know the school’s library inside and out, keeping the space clean and organized. They’re responsible for providing knowledge to students and teachers while also ensuring that any books borrowed are returned in a timely manner.

What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?:
Joining SRP was my first real experience with roleplay. I first joined the server around June of 2025 and have been playing regularly since then. About a month after I first logged on, I applied to and joined the Karakura High School Fashion Club. Being a part of this club gave me a lot of early experience through events and detailRP.
Since then, I have had the opportunity to join many different kinds of roleplay and meet many amazing players. I’ve had a character adopted and had another character join a gang. I’ve roleplayed as a (very spoiled) rabbit and explored many different character personalities and backgrounds.

Why do you want to join the School Employee faction?:
My primary motivations for joining the school employee faction are to explore a new side of SchoolRP and to gain experience and understanding of the server’s factions. As I mentioned before, I have experienced a lot different roleplays. However, I have yet to try any sort of faction. I hope to join the school employee faction because I want to learn more about what it’s like to be part of a faction on the server. Not only will this give me a new perspective on SRP, but it would also be very helpful to me when improving my roleplaying skills going forward.

Situations

During a work-shift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how does your character react?:

Akira would pause for a moment, not expecting the student’s outburst. She’d remain calm, giving the student a kind yet firm verbal warning not to be disrespectful. Her response going forward would depend on the student’s reaction. If the student continued to curse at her, Akira’s expression would shift to one of disappointment, never annoyance. She would give the student a second warning, speaking in a calm, authoritative manner. If the student once again ignored her warning and continued their behavior, Akira would give them one final warning and inform them that continuing their behavior would result in a detention. If the student’s behavior continued after this final warning, Akira would hand them a detention slip and instruct them to reflect on their behavior in the future. If at any point the student listened to Akira’s warnings, she would easily forgive them, opting to discuss why they had reacted in such a way. Her ultimate goal is to guide her students and help them learn from their mistakes, after all.

You notice two students are physically fighting in the hallway, – multiple punches have been thrown – how does your character react?:
Akira would quickly intervene, confronting the students and distancing them from each other in order to stop the fight. Once she had managed to diffuse the situation, Akira would speak to each of the students to find out the cause of the fight. Regardless of the reasoning, both students would be getting detention. However, Akira would hope that by understanding the cause, the students would be able to reconcile and prevent future conflicts. If the students do not stop fighting even after Akira’s intervention, she would inform other faculty of the situation and ask for assistance. Trying to get involved on her own at this point would only cause unnecessary risk and disturbance to the school environment.

Another school employee is clearly acting inappropriately, doing something very dangerous on the job, how does your character react?:
Akira would frown at her coworker, warning them that their behavior was inappropriate and stopping them from continuing any further. She’d explain why their actions were unacceptable and offer alternative actions for them to take. Her goal would be to help her coworker, wanting them to learn from their mistakes. If the coworker refused to listen and continued their behavior, Akira would inform another staff member and ask for assistance. She’d hope it would not come to that.

When in the employee break room, how does your character act?
Akira would not spend too much time in the break room, preferring to spend her time in the library and with students. On the occasions where she would be in the breakroom, Akira would often be found chatting with her coworkers or reading one of her favorite novels. As usual, she’d be kind and compassionate, offering her coworkers the same energy and enthusiasm that she’d show students.

Provide us with at least three detailed /me's of your character whilst on your chosen role:
/me flipped through the pages in her latest poetry book, humming to herself as she read each line. Despite being lost in a particularly lovely sonnet, Akira would never miss the sound of quiet footsteps approaching her. She would look up from her book, greeting the student before her
with a warm smile and her full attention. “Good morning! Is there anything I can do for you?”

/me picked up a stack of books from the table, sorting them by genre and subject. She smiled to herself as she noticed a few of her favorite books, taking a second more to glance at their covers before sorting them along with the others. Once she finished sorting, Akira headed towards the library shelves to return the books to their places, ready for another student to read.

/me would nod at the student before her, acknowledging their request. She turned to the library’s shelves, humming as she searched for a particular book. Was it here? No, not quite. Ah! There it is! She carefully pulled the book from the shelf before returning to the student. “This is the one you were looking for, correct?” She checked their library card, entering the details into the computer before handing the card and the book to the student. “Here you go! Please return it by the due date. Enjoy!”

Backstory:
Akira was born in Karakura and lived in the city until she started high school. At the time, her father had found a job in Tokyo, leading to Akira and her family moving to the larger city. Attending high school in Tokyo was overwhelming for Akira. She was used to a smaller school, and facing so many students at once left her feeling lonely and isolated.

On a particularly rough day, Akira spent her day on her own. She watched as the other students formed their groups and met with their friends. With nothing else to do, Akira wandered the halls of the school. Eventually, she found her way to the school’s library. Unlike the rest of the school, the library was small, quiet, and peaceful. It provided a safe haven for Akira, giving her a place to escape from the chaos.

Akira would spend hours of her day in the library. She would read any and every book she could find from fantasy to poetry to biographies. During breaktimes, lunchtime, and before school, Akira would make her way to the library and search the shelves for something new to read. Her love for reading eventually caught the attention of the school’s book club, who invited her to join them. Finally, Akira had a group of friends to talk with. She had people to share her passions for stories with. For the first time since moving to Tokyo, Akira was truly happy.

With her new group of friends, Akira’s high school life finally began to improve. She dedicated herself to the club. Even though the group was small, it was enough. Akira was happy to have people by her side. Reflecting on her experiences with loneliness and her newfound joy after meeting the book club members, Akira discovered her true passion. She knew what it felt like to be isolated. She knew the pain of loneliness. She wanted to help others avoid the same feeling.

After graduating from high school, Akira brought her dedication with her to university. She studied at the University of Tokyo, majoring in communications with a minor in psychology. Akira hoped to find a career where she could help others with the same struggles that she overcame.

After graduation, Akira immediately started grad school. She loved learning and wasn’t ready to be done with school. She worked hard as always, meeting others who shared her passions and discovering new genres and perspectives. She briefly studied abroad in England for a few semesters, learning about other cultures. By the end of it all, Akira had earned herself a master’s of science in communications!

After school, Akira looked for a position in Tokyo. She managed to find a job at a smaller school as an academic advisor. She loved this job. Helping other students plan their future brought her a sense of joy and appreciation. She worked at this school for around 3 years, taking time to build connections with the students she worked with. Though she was doing well, Akira still found Tokyo to be somewhat overwhelming. Not only that, but working at such a small school meant that she didn’t have a particularly high salary. Over time, Akira struggled to make ends meet. It all came to a breaking point when the school Akira worked for shut down.

Affording her life in the city was hard enough, but without her job it was impossible. Akira moved back into her parent’s home feeling lost and uncertain. It was as if she’d just started high school all over again. Once again, Akira turned to reading. She lost herself in fantasy novels and murder mysteries, ignoring the outside world. Her parents were worried. She had been doing so well! They tried to encourage her and offer alternative ideas, but Akira just couldn’t bring herself to take any more risks. Akira lived with her parents for another 6 months. Then, she found the old photo album.

Flipping through the pages of the worn album, Akira stumbled upon photos from her childhood. There were photos of her life in Karakura, displaying the beautiful city she once called home. This was exactly the boost she needed. Gathering together what little savings she had left, Akira rented a small apartment in Karakura and set off to find a new job. As she arrived in the small, beautiful city, she felt at home once more. Like before, she’d embrace her passion for helping students and hopefully meet new friends and family. Akira wouldn’t give up. Not this time.

Motivation for Joining KHS (Character perspective):
My motivation for joining KHS is to offer others a new perspective. From a young age, I had always loved learning, and I hope to share this passion with the students of Karakura. I want to serve as an inspiration and a role model for the students of this amazing school, and encourage them to learn and explore outside of a classroom setting.

I chose to apply to become a librarian because of the opportunity to introduce students to new knowledge. Throughout my life, books have always been my favorite way to learn. I hope to share this appreciation with other students and inspire them to explore new knowledge and methods of learning.

Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?:
I’ve been working with books for most of my life. They’ve always been important to me and this passion for learning and reading is something I hope to share with as many people as I can. I want to inspire students and encourage them to make the most of their education. I will not only ensure that the library is well taken care of, but I will also do my best to ensure the students and staff of Karakura High School are successful as well.
