Out-Of-Character Information
What is your Minecraft username?:DelphiTheDolphin.
Do you have Discord (If so, what is your discord username?):
Yes, my Discord is DelphineTheDolphin.
How old are you? (Optional):
I am 20 years old.
What is your time zone?:
AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time), also known as GMT+10 (Greenwich Mean Time +10).
Describe your activity on the server:
I am online anywhere from one to three hours daily, some days going up to six to eight hours or longer. I have a flexible schedule, and I will be able to complete the school employee quota quickly when I am motivated. Despite my real-life commitments, I am confident that I can manage the 10 hours a month minimum requirement for the school employee position.
I joined SchoolRP in late November 2020 and have had multiple roles within the school faction before, such as: High School Swim Captain, High School Swim Team, English Professor, High School Councillor and College Swim Team.
I stepped down from my position as an English Professor due to the demands of my online schooling and personal mental health issues. However, since then, I have officially completed my qualification in Library and Information Services and no longer attend online school, which gives me a lot more flexibility with my schedule. My only real commitments now are the ones I have in real life, alongside other SchoolRP responsibilities, such as College Swim Team practice, Photography and Media Club events, and my working hours as a Cashier at Umisachi, a script writer at Honey Corp, and a manager at Enchanted Quill Publishing.
I cannot guarantee that I will not have mental health issues during my time as a school employee, but I can promise that I will submit an inactivity notice when necessary.
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you will be demoted?:
Yes, I understand that if I am inactive within my position as a school employee that I will be demoted.
School Employee Role you are applying for?:
I am hoping to obtain the position of Librarian.
In as much detail as possible, describe the employee role you are applying for:
Real Life Librarians
Librarians in real life are the backbones of libraries everywhere, and there are so many of them! You can be a librarian at a museum, for the government, in an information centre, even just for your local library, and so many other places. Their job includes more than most people expect, such as the following:
- Managing a Library: The most common duty amongst all librarians! You are responsible for managing and resourcing the library or a small section of it. This duty includes overseeing all operations in the library, such as staff supervision, budget and resource management, planning and collecting new materials, cataloguing and organising those materials, overseeing the conditions of those materials and developing strategies for improvement!
- Managing Projects: Another duty of a librarian is to manage projects in the library! Most libraries, especially local ones, will host frequent events for people to attend, such as book clubs, informative lessons on how to use technology for the elderly, game nights, story time for children and much more! If your library is local, it is also likely to host school events as well, such as co-joining with school clubs, such as a high school anime club, to host meetings in their library after school!
- Service Design: The duty of improving the experience for customers and employees alike! It is a librarian's duty to prioritise the needs and experiences of their library's customers, ensuring everything is user-friendly, such as their computers, self-service machines and all parts of the library that you can imagine! It is their job to make sure that the library is not only a place where it's easy to find the information you're looking for, but also to make your experience enjoyable! If the library is good for the customers, it is likely to be good for the employees as well!
- Evaluation: Librarians need to be constantly looking around at their current systems to spot the pros and cons of them! They are to use evidence-based ****ysis to implement new systems or programs to evolve their library into a better place! A majority of this traffic (in my experience) comes from customers who will ask librarians to put new books on their shelves! To this, a librarian tends to need to interact with a whole host of people, such as other libraries, distributors, and they may even meet with the publication companies or the authors of the actual books!
- Providing Advice: A lot of people don't seem to realise this, but... Librarians can help you with your school assignments or any other questions you may have! Leaning into the school assignment aspect, Librarians are allowed to give you a list of reliable sources (physical or digital) for you to use and reference on your assignment; for example, let's say you have a school assignment on Ancient Greece; you would approach the librarian, tell them if you're looking for specific or generalised information and give them a general time-frame for when you would like the list of sources by (end of the day, within a week, etc); the librarian will then usually bring up a research catalogue which provides multiple different library databases and information services and they will direct themselves to scholarly websites and return to you within the timeframe a list of reliable resources to cite for your assessment.
Roleplay Librarians
Librarians on the SchoolRP server, thankfully, aren't as complicated as real-life librarians! A school librarian on this server has the following duties:
- Library Cards: A commonly known fact about the school library is that it has its own library cards! Librarians hand out these cards to students who wish to borrow or loan books but do not have one yet, or to students who request one. It is also their job to oversee the library cards to make sure it is not being used by multiple individuals! This process is relatively straightforward. A student will walk up to the library desk and ask for a library card. The librarian will retrieve one and ask for the information needed (such as their full name), and then assign them a library card after a payment of 5,000 yen.
- Loaning Books: Obviously, a library loans out books for students to borrow! The Karakura High School and Community College library has a variety of books to choose from, including educational works, student-written pieces and fictive literature! This process is very similar to the process above, where a student will approach the library desk (this time with a library card in tow! ... Hopefully...) and a book that they would like to borrow from the library's collection. The librarian will then ask for their library card and the title of the book they would like to borrow. They will then retrieve that book, catalogue it, and hand the title and the library card back to the student!
- Maintaining the Library: It is a librarian's job to maintain the library and its space, which includes ensuring everything is kept clean both literally and figuratively. Librarians also maintain the library by upholding the school rules and keeping students and fellow staff members in check.
- Retrieving Books: Similar to loaning out books, Librarians are also required to retrieve books from students who have previously borrowed from the library! It's their job to make sure the shelves remain full enough for others to borrow books should they wish to do so! They do this by a "check-in" and "check-out" process, the "check-in" process beginning with the cataloguing of the book and the student borrowing it when it was originally loaned and the "check-out" process being when the student returns the book that they have borrowed.
What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?:
I have been roleplaying on Discord since 2018, where I first started with fandom text-only roleplay servers ranging from my interests at the time: Aphmau, Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, Dungeons and Dragons and more. My text-only roleplaying on Discord was subpar at best, considering these were the early days of honing my writing skills, but the longer I did it, the more I improved.
But overall, I have been writing short stories since I was five years old, writing and roleplaying have always been a creative outlet and passion of mine, but it didn't fully develop until elementary school when I realised just how creative and fun reading and writing can be, this led me to my first world-creation story, an entirely original, all-fantasy world set in a fictional, medieval land filled with magic, elves, humans, fairies and more; for my first chapter I wrote more than 1700 words, wanting to showcase not only the surrounding areas of the world, the layout, but also the characters, their motivations, their personalities, backstories and so much more including the political tension between my fictional kingdoms.
Other than that, back when Hypixel Housing was one of the main and most popular places to roleplay, I attended a multitude of different 'houses' for roleplaying purposes, such as ones based on Aphmau, Harry Potter and school-based roleplays (mundane and magical), as well as multiple other servers (usually creative-based building ones that had a roleplaying section or a server entirely dedicated to roleplay).
As mentioned previously, I have been on SchoolRP since late November 2020. During my five years on this server, I have been through several roleplaying types and factions, such as a focus on DetailRP during my time as a High School Swim Team member and as the High School Swim Team Captain, or through CrimeRP and GangRP at the start of my SchoolRP journey, where I played as an intel agent who gathered gossip from students within the school and handed that information back to her higher-ups. I have also been a part of the school faction before as a High School Councillor and an English Professor, where I went through the processes of roleplaying with students, disciplining them, meeting with SLT, hosting detentions and more.
Why do you want to join the School Employee faction?:
I would love to be a part of the school employee faction because I already have several friends within it who are professors, caretakers and librarians! As stated above, I used to be a part of the faction as an English Professor, and I really miss the dynamics that come with roleplaying and with the perspective of older adult characters. There’s a lot of potential when it comes to roleplaying in the school faction as an employee, such as disciplining students, befriending coworkers, mentoring students, and so much more!
I would love to specifically be a librarian because in real life, I’m a certified librarian, and I hope to work as a volunteer museum librarian someday when I am more settled into my adult life. I’ve been training to become a librarian since I was sixteen, when I dropped out of high school to pursue this career and a qualification in Library and Information Services. It was a struggle, especially at first, and I had a lot of difficult getting through my units and had to get used to the flow of online schooling, but after four years of hard work and dedication, I now have a certificate in Library and Information Services, which allows me to work or volunteer as a qualified librarian.
I already bring my knowledge into my roleplay through Enchanted Quill Publishing, where I work as a manager and a librarian at the Karakura Public Library. I am actively roleplaying out detailed tasks such as searching catalogues, reorganising the library shelves, maintaining the library and its cleanliness and speaking with patrons.

Situations
During a work-shift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how does your character react?:OOC Response
Sjunne is a quiet and kind soul, so his first reaction would be one of surprise. He would calmly ask the student to ground themselves by instructing them to take deep breaths and offering them other grounding techniques to help alleviate their anger. If this only made the student more aggressive, then he would politely but firmly request that the student stop speaking to him in a disrespectful manner.
Sjunne is very patient and would try anything he could to de-escalate the situation and cooperate with the student. But if his attempts are futile, he would give the student a detention slip, and if the student became physically aggressive (such as throwing chairs, attempting to attack him, etc), he would call for backup via the radio.
IC Response
“Well,” Sjunne sighed, tilting his head as his hazel gaze drifted upwards in thought, “if a student were to start cursing at me, I’d be surprised at first.” He gave a small nod before meeting the interviewer’s gaze again. “I try to remain calm in all situations, inside and outside of my work. I would politely but firmly ask the student to stop and attempt to guide them through some grounding techniques. If that didn’t help, I’d keep trying to de-escalate with them, but if all my attempts were in vain, then I would give them a detention slip. And if the situation were to get physical, such as the student attempting to attack me or begin throwing chairs around, I would radio in another colleague to help me with the situation.”
IC Reaction
Sjunne blinked in surprise at the student, his head tilting slightly as they cursed at him and called him pathetic. Placing a hand over his heart, he spoke softly, “Now… can you take a deep breath for me? What was that about?” His tone was gentle and placating, hoping that the student would open up to him.
When the cursing continued, he kept his resolve. “Hey now, we don’t speak like that here,” he said, still soft but more firm now. “This is your first warning, do not speak to me like that.”
Sjunne attempted to get the student to participate in some grounding techniques, such as naming five things they could see, but his efforts were in vain. After issuing two more warnings, he gave the student a detention slip. “I’ll be seeing you after school,” he sighed softly, “I’ve given you grace, but we’re finished here.”
You notice two students are physically fighting in the hallway, – multiple punches have been thrown – how does your character react?:
OOC Response
Sjunne’s first reaction would be one of concern rather than anger. His first priority would be to ensure the safety of all students involved and any bystanders. He would quickly and calmly step in, using a firm voice to separate the two students without escalating the situation. If necessary, he would call for assistance via radio to ensure the fight was stopped safely.
After separating them, he would escort both students to the library office or a secure area to assess any injuries. He would avoid shaming or yelling, instead focusing on grounding both students before asking about the altercation and disciplining the students involved.
IC Response
“Well, if I saw two students fighting,” Sjunne began, his brows furrowing slightly, “I’d intervene immediately, but calmly. Safety comes first — both for them and for everyone nearby.” He adjusted his posture slightly, straightening up, his voice steady as he continued. “I’d separate the students and, if the situation were too unsafe to handle alone, I’d call for backup over the radio. Once things were under control, I’d ensure both students were okay — physically and well, mentally — and then escort them to the library office to sort out what led to the fight. I don’t believe in shouting — it only makes things worse. Calm, clear action is best.”
IC Reaction
The sharp sound of fists connecting drew Sjunne’s attention immediately. His eyes widened for only a moment before he quickly intervened, with hurried steps, rushing towards the students.
“Enough!” His voice was calm but cut through the chaos. “Step back — both of you.” When one student tried to lunge forward again, Sjunne gently but firmly positioned himself between them, speaking low and steady. “You’re both better than this. Breathe. Right now, we stop. We breathe.” He kept his tone grounded, waiting until the tension began to ebb before gesturing toward the office. “We’re going to talk this through properly. Follow me.”
Another school employee is clearly acting inappropriately, doing something very dangerous on the job, how does your character react?:
OOC Response
Sjunne would be visibly concerned but would approach the situation with professionalism. He would immediately step in to address the danger, prioritising the safety of his colleague. Depending on the severity, he might quietly but firmly remind them that what they’re doing is unsafe or report the incident to higher administration if it posed a significant risk.
He wouldn’t cause a scene or berate the other employee.
IC Response
“If I saw another staff member doing something dangerous,” Sjunne said, choosing his words carefully, “I’d step in right away, but respectfully. We’re all human — we make mistakes. But safety comes first. I’d remind them calmly of the risk and suggest a safer way to handle things. If it were something serious or malicious, I’d report it to the senior leadership team.”
IC Reaction
Sjunne froze for a moment as he noticed the employee attempting something clearly unsafe — “Hey,” he called softly but firmly, stepping closer. “That’s not safe. Let me give you a hand with that.”
If the staff member brushed him off or continued, his tone would shift, steady and unwavering. “I’m serious. That could get someone — or you hurt. We need to stop and do this properly.” Later, once the immediate danger had passed, he would file a discreet report.
When in the employee break room, how does your character act?
OOC Response
Sjunne is calm, polite, and reserved in the break room. He’s not one to initiate conversation but will pleasantly engage when spoken to. Often, he’s seen with a mug of coffee or tea, taking quiet moments to recharge before returning to work. He respects others’ space and avoids gossip or workplace drama.
He’s approachable and gentle, occasionally sharing snacks or checking in on a stressed colleague, but he values peace and quiet in his downtime.
IC Response
“In the break room?” Sjunne chuckled softly, rubbing the back of his neck, a nervous gesture he never grew out of. “I’m usually just sitting in the corner with my coffee, recharging. I like a bit of calm before heading back out to my duties.” He smiled faintly. “If someone needs to talk, I’ll listen. But I try to keep things peaceful — it’s not the place for arguments or gossip.”
IC Reaction
Sjunne sat quietly in the corner of the break room, the steam from his mug curling lazily into the air.
When another staff member sighed heavily beside him, he looked up with a gentle expression. “Long day?” he asked, voice soft. “Here—” he slid over a small packet of wrapped marshmallows, a faint smile appearing on his lips. “Sugar helps.” Then, as the chatter continued around him, he settled back into his quiet watchfulness, content to simply be among his colleagues.
Provide us with at least three detailed /me's of your character whilst on your chosen role:
Sjunne Dusting the Library Shelves
/me moved quietly between the tall rows of shelves, a soft layer of dust clung to the books. He reached up with a cloth in hand, wiping gently at the spines — careful, deliberate. Every motion was slow and precise; he paused now and then to straighten a crooked volume or run a finger over a spine. As the dust cleared, a faint, satisfied hum left his lips — the kind of sound that came from quiet fulfilment rather than joy. “There,” he murmured to no one in particular, brushing off his hands.
Sjunne Looking Through the Library Catalogue
/me leaned over the desk, hazel eyes scanning the softly glowing screen. His brows furrowed in gentle concentration, one hand resting beneath his chin in thought, while the other tapped a slow, rhythmic pattern against the polished wood. “Hmm…” he breathed, scrolling through the catalogue, his hazel eyes tracing the cursor along the rows of titles with patience. Every now and then, he’d jot down a phone number in tidy handwriting down in his worn, leather journal, elegant letters curving in long, thin strokes against the yellowed pages. The corners of his mouth twitched upwards as he found what he was looking for. “There it is,” he said quietly, a note of calm satisfaction in his tone. He leaned back, stretching slightly before closing the catalogue.
Sjunne Handing Out a Library Card to a Student
/me offered a warm, reassuring smile, his tone soft and measured as he guided the student. “Let’s see…” he murmured, fingers gliding across the keyboard with quiet precision. The gentle clacking of keys filled the space between them as he glanced up. “Could I get your name and grade, please?” he asked, his voice steady and kind, carrying the calm authority of someone used to soothing nervous students. As the student answered, he nodded along, repeating their name softly to ensure he’d typed it correctly. “Perfect,” he said with a small, approving hum, entering the last few details before reaching for the freshly printed card. Sliding it across the counter, he met the student’s gaze. “Here you go — your library card.”

Sjunne Svensson was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, to a pair of loving Christian parents. Assigned female at birth, he struggled with body dysphoria that his parents never truly understood due to their conservative nature. Even as a child, Sjunne stared in awe at masculine clothing and items branded for men, as well as activities dominated by men, such as his school's chess club. He even chose to wear the masculine version of his school uniform when he could get away with it.
Sjunne had always been quiet and introspective, finding himself at home in quiet places like libraries. The knowledge plastered on the shelves, the thrill and curiosity of pursuing it, and the kind librarians who didn't seem to judge him like he assumed everyone else did. By the time Sjunne was in high school, he began volunteering at his school library, helping with events such as bookathalons, decorating for Christmas and much more.
During his high school years, Sjunne found a fascination with languages. English had come first, taught in his school and reinforced through literature and media. His studious nature came in handy when learning grammar and vocabulary, and by the end of high school, he was fluent enough in English to read novellas and educational titles with relative ease.
After his high school graduation, Sjunne was lost; the familiar learning environment was gone, and he was thrown out into the 'real world'. He knew he wasn't anything extraordinary, his grades only being slightly above average at best, so he muddled around, finding odd jobs here and there in various places, such as restaurants, market stalls and corner stores. But this left him feeling restless, wanting to go back to the familiar peace he had found in his countless days in the library. Then, an idea struck him: he could study to become a librarian. After four weeks of anxious waiting, he was accepted into a three-year bachelor's course, later turning into a two-year master's program at the University of Borås.
Life in Borås was demanding, with countless hours of studying, stacks of notes piling up on his small, rickety wooden desk and hours staring into a computer screen. It was difficult, but it was fulfilling; in this, Sjunne felt a sense of purpose, regaining that same calm he had once felt. In his university years, his love of languages resurfaced as he branched out into Korean and Japanese, originally out of curiosity due to their dramatic media and literature. Long nights with dictionaries and Zoom calls in language classes became his routine, and what began as a hobby soon blossomed into something more, as by his mid-twenties, he was able to speak conversationally in both languages. Though Japanese had been his strongest after years of steady study.
By his 24th birthday, he graduated and began working at the university library, where he stayed for another seven years. The diversity of the campus was something Sjunne thrived in; the international students mingling with the local Swedes made him soft, happy to see them growing and connecting.
It was around this time that Sjunne had finally found a word for the thing he had been feeling all of these years, 'transgender', 'dysphoria’, the labels, finally putting words to things he couldn't previously articulate, soothed his battered soul. The recognition was slow, and the process of finding a welcoming medical institution was even slower. He finally began hormone replacement therapy in his early thirties. It was tiring, but Sjunne had overcome many challenges before; this would just be another one of them. Balancing a second puberty with a full-time job wasn't sustainable for Sjunne; he took a step back, lowering his hours to become a part-time employee to give himself the breathing room he needed.
Leaving his old student dormitory behind, Sjunne found himself a modest apartment in Göteborg; the commute was long, but it felt like the fresh start he needed. Over the next few years, Sjunne completed his transition, his voice deepened, his body moulded into something he was proud to call his own, and the soft stubble on his cheeks felt like a grounding reminder of how far he had come.
On his 36th birthday, after scrounging up enough money, Sjunne applied for a legal name change at Skatteverket. The process was awkward, to say the least; uncomfortable questions, months of waiting in silence, this somehow felt akin to the exhaustion of completing his master's degree. When the documents finally arrived, Sjunne let out a sigh of relief, feeling a quiet peace as he read his name in fine print: Sjunne Svensson.
As Sjunne settled into his life in Göteborg, he felt stagnant; his work at the university library was steady, fulfilling, as it always had been, but he longed for something more. This can't be the end of it. Sjunne thought he had rebuilt his life after his transition; he had his name changed, and he finally felt comfortable in his own skin, so... What was missing? There was an itch he couldn't scratch after staying in the same place for over a decade. After an evening of browsing through the university's pamphlets of international schools across the world, an article caught his eye. The answer to his question. A piece titled 'Karakura High School and Community College' was littered with information about a school in Japan that had been heavily westernised and influenced by its international students.
Sjunne's eyes lit with a spark of curiosity, continuing to scan over the pages. The more he read about international schools like the University of Borås, the more things began to make sense. On a whim, he began browsing for job positions at international libraries across the globe, where he came across a spot in the same school he had just read about: Karakura High. The position emphasised a need for a high efficiency in Japanese, the page went on about the school's amenities and about the students: anywhere from young teens to mid-twenties college students from all around the world, falling into this one place that seemed to keep them in a close, tight-knit community, a small city and island all by its lonesome.
With a mixture of nervousness and excitement, he applied and began quietly waiting for his response letter.
Motivation for Joining KHS (Character perspective):
“My motivation for joining Karakura High School comes from my desire to grow as a person. I have been an accomplished university librarian since my mid-twenties, but I feel that there are opportunities at your establishment where I can make meaningful changes. International schools that offer exchange programs such as yours are my niche, and I hope to bring my skills to your small town and help your students learn and grow in a place where they can feel comfortable.”
Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?:
IC Response
“I believe I should be accepted because I have over a decade of experience as a librarian at an international exchange student school, like this one; however, it was slight different, due to it specifically made to teach library studies. Nonetheless, the experience has given me the confidence and skills required to be patient, dedicated and professional in all environments. I’ve been a librarian since I was 24, and I am now 47. More than anything, I am dedicated to my work. Being a librarian is not just a job to me; it is my life’s work, my passion, my drive — and I take pride in it and ensuring the library is a safe space for students, no matter who they are, how they act or where they come from. I would be honoured to join your establishment.”
OOC Response
As I’ve mentioned, I am a certified librarian in real life, and I would love to use my knowledge to create a more realistic roleplay experience in the school library. I am already familiar with the workings of the School Employee faction since I was previously an English Professor, and I have prior experience in disciplining students, writing detailed roleplay actions and contributing my time and effort into multiple places and businesses around SchoolRP!
