DESCRIBE YOUR ACTIVITY ON THE SERVER:
My activity on the server has been a bit disappointing or well disappointing to me at least in terms of needed activity for a faction. My activity right now is probably a 6/10 while I am working on getting on more. I've been busy with school and being demotivated for SRP which is why I wanted to try for shrine maiden to have a new thing to do. Most of my time on the server currently consists of occasionally teaching classes as a professor and doing family roleplay with a family I’m in but besides that I don’t get on all that much however, should I be accepted I will likely get on more.
WHAT POSITION ARE YOU APPLYING FOR?:
Shrine Maiden.
WHAT KNOWLEDGE DO YOU CURRENTLY HAVE OF SHINTOISM AND ARE YOU PREPARED/WILLING TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE RELIGION?:
I don’t currently know much besides that they do tarot readings, and are usually the ones that come to cleanse spirits.. Or at least it used to be that way around a year ago in KPD last october. Of course I will be willing and prepared to learn much more about the religion if I’m accepted.
WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT FOR THIS ROLE OVER OTHER APPLICANTS?:
I believe I stand out for the role over some other applicants because I’m super active when I’m not demotivated and because this is a new faction I haven’t tried I believe I will be super active in order to get the full experience meaning more people would get to experience what shrine maidens do as I will usually be around to talk to people unless I’m at school or busy. I also like learning new things and can easily adapt to the new things, meaning that I will be attentive and will remember everything I learn in training.
DO YOU ACKNOWLEDGE YOU WILL HAVE TO ATTEND MANDATORY TRAININGS TO BE TAUGHT MORE ABOUT SHINTOISM AND THE ACCORDING PROCEDURES?:
I am aware that I will have to attend training and will be taught all procedures and the religion. I will go to every training as long as I’m not at school and won’t avoid the training if I’m online!

Oh! Huhm. I don’t know much about the monastery! I couldn’t find much about it online. I’ve just heard that the religion is about things called kamis! I want to learn more about the monastery if I get a job working there though!

Dear.. Mitsue-Shiro. I think that’s what the monastery lead is called. My name is Priska Wibke, I’m looking for a job at the monastery because I’ve always wanted to be religious.. I mean spirits and stuff must be real right! Surely all the negative things that happened to me after… [!] A piece of the letter was ripped out. [!] Um anyway, yeah I believe in spirits and do want to learn even more about this religion.. Because I want something to explain everything happening to me. uhm.. Anyway! I want to be a shrine maiden because I want to learn more about the Karakura religion if I want to hi- [!] A word was scribbled out in pen [!] be living there! I hope you consider me as fit for this position! I swear I’m nothing but good and will be extremely dedicated to my job! BACKSTORY:
Section 1. Early life
Priska Wibke’s early life consisted of being a normal child. Her parents weren’t very nice and there was always something off about them but she had no cares as a simple child. She was sitting at home as a 6 year old reading a children's book when a bunch of people wearing something hid their identity completely and they stabbed both of her parents eventually leaving her there crying. Being 6 she looked up everything she could to call people to help her parents. Eventually landing on calling the hospital. The hospital managed to save one of the parents leaving just her mother alive who eventually a few days later drove back to their house a mess with Priska eating scraps of food. They decided then to take her and move to Switzerland where the rest of her education was continued.
Section 2. Extensive education
Her education was a bit extreme. She wanted to do everything she could to distract herself from the death of her father going through all of the basic schooling taking as many advanced classes as she could. Although she was struggling with something else she couldn’t quite put her finger on. Sometimes she would be extremely happy and other times she was incredibly depressed and in order to figure it out she decided to take all the classes she could to try and figure out what was wrong with her. She never could figure out what was wrong with her but she continued to get an education and started to find she liked helping treat people and it would distract her. Everything she researched told her it was bipolar disorder that was what was wrong with her but she knew something was off she just couldn’t find the proper word for it. She then eventually went to college, her tuition being paid by her mother. She spent 6 years at college going for a federal masters diploma. After 6 years passed without being able to find anything about what was wrong with her and the episodes getting worse and worse she decided she didn’t have enough time to worry about it and continued going on with her schooling. She then moved onto specialist training for being a doctor with her heart being set on being a doctor. Eventually at 34 she got her dream job as a doctor.. But obviously that wasn’t the end. How did she end up in Karakura frantic to get a job as a shrine maiden?
Section 3. Getting a job as a doctor
She got her job as a doctor by looking for online job offerings. Eventually finding one she went through the whole interview process, after a month of hard work trying to get the job she got contacted letting her know that she had gotten the job. Of course, she wanted to be a doctor to take care of her family not wanting another situation like the one in Germany to happen so she worked extra hard getting promoted quickly and was one of the most trusted doctors in the place she lived. Yet she still ended up having to run away none of it made sense! Until the month before her birthday.
Section 4. Revenge -
The month before her birthday was in September at the very end of summer she was preparing for another day at her job feeling angry that day due to her case of bipolar disorder. Of course, she didn’t want to do enough research to figure out what was wrong with her not being able to not handle that news. When she was in the middle of treating a patient that was stabbed and still had the knife in them they whispered to her saying they were the one who murdered her father seeing that she was visibly frustrated and them knowing they likely weren’t going to make it said it in an attempt to make her snap which it had as she pushed the knife in killing them. Realizing what she had done immediately she decided to run out of the building. Taking her car and driving it quickly.
Section 5. Escaping Switzerland
She drove for hours not wanting to look back; she had escaped before the police had noticed and was in a state of panic as she continued to drive, cursing the person that killed her father the entire drive without realizing where she was going. After several hours of driving she arrived in a small town on the border between Switzerland and germany. Stopping there she called her mother to apologize for what had happened before hanging up not giving her time to respond. She slept in her car before getting gas and continuing to drive as she crossed the border into Germany. Driving into a random German airport she took a flight away from anywhere near Switzerland. She ended up getting a flight into Japan ending up in a small city there. As she landed she took the first job she could find that paid well. It was the biggest building in the city with only 2 floors. Getting an apartment there as quickly as she could as she settled down.
Section 6. Being forced to move
As fall began along with october Wibke was working her new job trying not to think of what had happened in Switzerland. She was just about to leave when she heard screaming from another room. As she moved into the next room she saw a fire starting from a random spot in the middle of the room. She took a deep breath before grabbing something to put the fire out. Wearing her old lab coat not able to part with it she got too close to the fire and the fire started going up the outfit. She quickly threw water at the outfit putting the fire out but not before the fire damaged the majority of the outfit leaving it a bit burnt and dirty. She put what was left of the fire out before getting out of the building. This being the day she was going through a depressive episode due to the bipolar disorder and being paranoid from everything that had happened she decided it was bad luck and wanted to leave.
Section 7. Ending up in Karakura.
Finally, the reason she was writing a letter trying to quickly get a job in Karakura. As she was about to leave on a flight to a remote island in Japan referred to as Karakura she got a text from her mother saying that the police were on their way to Japan where she was. The police having tracked her location all the way there were on the way and with Wibke not wanting to get caught and still feeling horrible, got on the plane as quickly as she could destroying what belongings she had left but just before doing so she looked for job opportunities in Karakura. As she found a shrine maiden position deciding it was good enough for nobody to suspect her she began to write a letter leading to the letter written in the letter section. As the plane landed in Karakura all she could do was wait for the response.

What duties do Shinto Priests and Maidens have?:
A few duties that I am aware of them doing includes the card readings they do for people, they help out with marriages and usually host the official wedding, They help cleanse places if spirits in october haunt the place protecting the previously haunted place for a few days, they can serve tea to people that are visiting shrine, sell a few items in the store up on the shrine. That is everything I know and I hope that if I’m accepted I can learn more about any extra duties they may do!
What are the steps needed to be taken at the purification trough before entering the Shrine?:
The person will use one of the ladles by the water as they get water from it and wash their hands with it to make sure their hands are cleaned. If there is anything else I’m not aware of I hope that I can learn it!
How are offerings to a Kami performed?:
Offerings to a kami are performed through the barrel in the top part of the shrine. Anyone can put things in it including either yen or usually food. After that is done they make a prayer to whatever kami they wish to make the offering to.
How do you perform a tea ceremony ritual?:
If I’m not confusing it with something else I believe the Shrine Maiden/Priest prepares tea or gets tea from storage and brings it into the seating area where the person who asked for the tea ritual can either sit with the maiden/priest to talk with them or talk with a friend they brought to the shrine.
Explain what a Tamagushi, Ofuda and Kagura Suzu is and what they're used for:
The Tamagushi is a tree branch that is decorated with strips of many different things and many people that are practicing shintoism will use this as an amulet that they warship. The next thing is Ofuda. It is a talisman that can be given out to people which offers protection from negative aspects in life. The Kagura Suzu is used for the shrine dances performed usually by the maidens in the shrine. It is a short staff and is one of the most important parts of it.
Based on your character; which other Kami would they worship?:
The kami she is most likely to warship is the one called Amaterasu as it’s usually the kami relating to the sun. Because it’s related to strength and while she isn’t the strongest person physically she has gone through a lot and despite being paranoid throughout most of it she still pushed through even if she had to run away a lot. It is the one she would most likely warship because she believes she is mentally strong which is why she would most likely warship it.
