Backstory
Emilia for her whole life up until 18 years old, was born and has lived in Grünwald..Germany, which is known as one of the richest places in the country. She was born into a really important family, a mafia family. She basically lived in a life of constant violence and danger. Her family was incredibly strict with her as soon as she learned how to walk and talk, they were very insistent on all of the rules and a code (Omertà) that they had to follow as a ‘special’ family. The Godfather, her dad, “David Fraust” is the boss of it all and his second in command, The Underboss, “Hannah Fraust” is his wife who was in charge of upholding the honor code. She was born first alongside her twin brother Xavier Hänsel Fraust... So, they were taught enough that they could pass the knowledge down to their two little brothers, the older young brother being Daniel Fraust, and the youngest being Lukas. The female children in mafia families were not treated greatly compared to the males; it’s almost like the males got more of a special treatment. Which leads to the plot of Emilia always being the invisible child after the family thought they did their job teaching her how to be part of a mafia family.
Emilia was taught many things when being part of a mafia family, 2 of the biggest things: Never talk to law enforcement, and Never tell anyone about it. Breaking the oath about these two things can lead to death. They tried to keep it hidden about the fact that the family was rich at all, she was allowed to have very nice things, but she was never allowed to mention how she got the money or how much she had, which was basically infinite… which she still doesn’t do to this day, even in Karakura, which isn’t for the reason that you might think. All everyone ever saw her for in Grünwald was her money, she never had any “real friends” there, they would only talk to her so she could buy them nice things, because they knew she had a lot of money, just not how much... She was taught starting at the age of 12 how to properly avoid getting caught for any criminal activity, I wouldn’t say that she enjoyed living in this type of family, considering her being an invisible child... but she strangely began to have a thrill for it all. She had to constantly get beat up as a part of the family, to build a sort of tolerance for pain, this was forced on every one of her siblings unfortunately, including her. Which is why, even though she might feel pain and fear on the inside, she can’t help but strangely enjoy it and be thrilled over it now. She only will get like this if she is the one getting hurt or inflicted with pain, she would always just have a self-defeating smile on her face and not run, even sometimes cackle uncontrollably if it gets bad, only until she passes out from it of course. She is very much, a masochist.
She is also taught not to be a snitch about anything. If she sees anything, she can’t say anything because it will always lead to talking to law enforcement which goes against the mafia code completely. She was also taught to have a fake personality, never showing anyone how she truly acts if she were to give everything away. Though nowadays, her being taught that has mentally altered with how she thinks and acts towards and around people and now gets influenced by the people that she decides to surround herself with. By the age of 15, she finally had a pretty good grip on everything, but her parents really stopped caring about her all together after that, their main drive was their money and the fun they had doing their job, if she wanted any attention all they did was throw money at her in hoping that she leaves them alone about anything, The only person that ever tried to comfort her, even if It wasn’t in the best way is her brother Xavier, he just has a really shitty was of showing that he cares for Emilia. By the age of 16 she began to grow sick of how much she got ignored, and sick of not being able to try and be herself, even though she is quite not sure what that even is now. She began to learn Japanese so she can move to Japan, and she wanted to try and live a free life, not being stuck having to keep everything a secret. Although as of right now she is still closed off about everything. At age 18 she finally wanted to move out and get away from it. So, she moved to Karakura, where she keeps a majority of her past secret and closed off, to avoid any consequences and the fact that it was already dug so far into her mind, just as everything else is, her life in Germany mentally altered her to act as if she was still there.
