What experiences do you have with Detail RP?:

I have been on srp for quite a few months (about over 6 months however I do not remember exactly).
During this time, I have had quite an experience with RP and DetailRP. I have been a cadet in the kpd, a school employee as a teaching assistant and a member of the college baseball team. These have all given me a decent opportunity to DetailRP.

What is your motivation to apply for EMS and how will you benefit our medical team?:
I have somewhat of an interest with medical studies which I would like to show and incorporate into RP. However in truth, my main reason for applying is that although I have already had a decent experience with RP, I think I could deepen it better by having an opportunity at MedicalRP. Another thing I've realised recently, which i hadn't before is that when I look at the tab with city jobs, i very rarely see any medical staff on at day time and evening in my timezone (GMT). I would like to be of help to make the timezones less.. thinly spread? Although of course this time, unlike in the KPD, I would be much more active.

Which medical role are you applying for? (e.g: Surgeon, Doctor, Nurse, Psychiatrist):
Psychiatrist (I was applying for Nurse but found out that it got removed so I changed it)

Specify your knowledge for the role you’re applying for:
Psychiartists are still there for a patients well being, however they focus on the mental side of things. They work to Diagnose, help treat and calm their patients, Reduce stress and distress and keep a tab on their patients condition reguarly. To help treat patients with mental implications they can asses the problem, see how bad it has progressed, what it is and how they can treat it. In addition, they can provide somewhat of a plan- since it isn't an immediate process to get treated, this can be done by therapy and the practise of 'Psychotherapy'.
Some of their jobs and responsibilities can be classified in a list form-
  • Constantly talk to patients and check up on them, seeing how their discomfort is progressing. Try to keep them feeling healthy and positive, and that they can overcome this.
  • Diagnose patients, find out whats going on with them, and how they are feeling.
  • Accomidate the patients needs and wants, help them when in need.
  • Help treat their mental implications and perform therapy sessions and/or councilling.
  • Not only work to treat, but since some things are incurrable, just work to prevent the issue from getting worse, make the patient feel as healthy, calm and comforted.
  • Research and learn more about human behavioural patterns, social behaviour, trends and the human brain. There is always more room to learn and know more about different conditions, to help treat patients.

Categorise all the functions of the EMS and tell us what each of them does:
Hospital director-
Often the word director is used for when someone is in charge and manages things, so in this situation the Hospital Director is in charge of most things, and is superior to other physicians. They hold the most responsibility and look over most factions of the Hospital.

Clinical Manager- Again holding many responsibilities and taking some sort of management- as said in the name. Clinical Managers oversee their medical facility and how it is functioning, making sure everything runs smoothly. They work hard like most other EMS workers do, and look to meet the needs of all the medical professions

Clinical Lead- As said in the name, it’s a position that takes a lead of sorts, they supervise a team of nurses and health-care assistants. They essentially will lead a team of individuals who work in the medical industry, making sure they maintain a good standard of care and work with their job.

Doctor Consultant- These are Doctors who have completed their full medical training and have gotten a promotion to become a senior doctor.

Doctor- This job consists of diagnosing health issues, helping with curing and treating injuries and diseases/illnesses and health issues. They do so by using their knowledge and skills that have been worked on for years.

Surgeon- Surgeons also treat medical issues, health problems, injuries and diseases. However they do so with the practise of Surgery. They can help by using different tools, and do so fairly painlessly by setting the patient under Anesthesia, sometimes needing strong doses too. They can help injuries by doing bone repairs and tissues too.

Executive Nurse- A senior role of a Nurse, given when promoted. They usually have finished their full medical training, much like the Doctor Consultant and are often specialised in an area of medicine. Again not as hands on as doctors and surgeons but still a vital part to a patients well being.

Nurse- A less hands on job than Surgeons and Doctors, however their job still revolves around the health and well being of their patients. They need to communicate with their peers and such and be aware of their patients health and conditions. They hand out medicine that their patients need, and keep a watch on vital signs too. Calling on other nurses and doctors when things get out of hand or a sudden change is noticed.

Psychologist- Psychologists often keep check on the mental health of a patient, instead of physical, and they help diagnose mental issues and treat mental issues. They can help treat certain issues by using the practise of psychotherapy.

Are you aware of the basic medical emergency colour codes? If so, with their meanings, specify all those you’re aware of:

Yes I am:
Code Blue: A Medical Emergency- heart complications such as cardiac arrest.

Code Black: Bomb threats/suspicious objects

Code Orange: Hazmat spill

Code Silver: Active shooter

Code Pink: Infant or child abduction

Code Violet: Violent or combative individual

Code Brown: Severe weather

Code Red: Fire or anything Fire related- such as smoke.

Code Green: Emergency Activation

Code Yellow: Disaster.

Code White: Evacuation

Do you acknowledge that you're subject to being demoted if accepted at any given time?
Yes I completely understand this and am aware of this.

Do you acknowledge that applying for this role, you are agreeing to be 100% dedicated to the Hospital Staff role?
Again, I understand that this role is no joke and needs a decent level of dedication that I am prepared to give.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are authorised to attend or you will be punished [Demoted]?
I am aware of this, and have unfortunately had experience with this in the kpd- Not necessarily with being online at the same time but I was pretty inactive when it came to training then. However due to that, I now understand how important it is to be there and on time, and I will make an effort to be there.

Do you acknowledge that you are NOT to take things OOCly when dealing with training & situations?
Yes I acknowledge this and I will not take things OOCly and vice versa.

CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE

Tell us about your character, how they look, what makes them unique?

Baek Hyu-Su Novak is a fairly short woman, standing at 5’3 with a petite stature weighing at 45 kg. She’d have dark, black hair that’d often be kept up in space buns. Most of her features are soft, and not defined, especially her facial features and her body is fairly slender, holding little to no curves Due to this, she often gets mistaken for being younger than she actually is. Hyu-Su carries around a scent of mint and strawberries, both contrasting scents. She’d have a somewhat strong Korean accent, often using a Gangnam dialect when talking in her mother tongue. Hyu-Su comes off as a calm and collected individual, who is seen as being pretty nice to those around her. She has a habit of biting her nails and sometimes scratching the back of her neck when uncomfortable or confused.

What she’s like on and off the job?
On the Job Baek Hyu-Su Novak is a calm and mature individual, however she prefers to stay professional. Due to this she is less easy going while working and is aware of her surroundings. She also tends to be astute and can come off as intimidating and cold to patients. Hyu-Su also has a few nephews and nieces in her family, being quite a few years younger than her so she has experience with dealing with difficult people-which can be applied to her job if needed.

However while off the job, Hyu-Su takes the opportunity to loosen up a bit and relax, making her come off as laid back and more approachable. She tries to be as friendly as she can, and keep good strong bonds between her peers while not overstepping any limits.

Outlook on her co-workers? Plans for the future?
Hyu-Su knows her limits and knows when to rely on people, and of course vice versa, she is always ready for people to rely on her too. She respects her peers whether they are of a higher position or not, and thinks it is always good to get along with those she works with.

Like most people, Hyu-Su plans to lead a sustainable happy life, and be able to provide for her family. She wishes to be financially independent and has no plans on marrying someone as she prefers to indulge in her work life. She wants to help those around her, and plans to do so as much as she can. Hyu-Su also wants to be able to grasp a secure position and learn to be happy and content with her life as well as help to pave the way for her nephews and nieces, and let them lead a prosperous and happy life too. She plans to not only be financially independent, not needing a partner to provide for her, but also give her family financial support.

Does your character have any past / current mental and or physical illnesses we should take acknowledgement to?
Nothing currently that’ll affect her work too much. She is Dyslexic like I am, but from experience I know that it is something that can get better over time from reading and working on processing things. So it shouldn’t affect her much to this day.

BACKSTORY

Baek Hyu-Su Novak was originally born in Gangnam, South Korea with her birth family. As a child, Hyu-Su was not very gifted and in fact the exact opposite. In the early stages of her life, her parents thought she might have a learning disability such as a processing order, and she also got shunned on by a lot of children around her too. Her parents liked to think that she was just a slow developer and it was nothing that could affect her learning for years to come, However at the age of 9, Hyu-Su got tested for being dyslexic and came out positive for having dyslexia. Due to this sudden discovery ,that actually answered a lot of questions about Hyu-Su’s progress in school, She started getting called names and got bullied by her classmates- in some situations they referred to her with the ‘r slur’. This bullying went on for a year until Hyu-Su’s parents became aware of bullying and decided to send her to Karakura to live with some of her mothers distant relatives, the Novaks.

Once Hyu-Su got to Karakura, she adopted the last name ‘Novak’ and tried her hardest to get along and fit in with the family, which was something she was never good at doing in the past at her old school. The events of the past somewhat still affected Hyu-Su, making her lack confidence for many many years and resulted in her getting homeschooled for 4 years, until she was 14. Due to her processing issue, it was a hard and long process at first but Hyu-Su held up a battle against it, and wouldn’t let the issue defeat her. She often found herself reading books and studying her hardest to make progress with beating her learning disability. At the age of 14, Baek Hyu-Su was enrolled into Karakura high and with her new found confidence, she made plenty of friends and got on well with her classmates this time. She was no A* student, but she got by well enough and ended up getting 3 As in her A levels for Biology, Chemistry and Maths.

Soon she enrolled into Karakura’s college, and got by pretty well there too, studying medical sciences and graduating with good results from there. At the age of 25, Hyu-Su wasn’t sure on what she wanted to do in life, and ended up traveling around the world a lot. She went back to South Korea, and went to work as a Psychiatrist in Seoul’s National University Hospital, she worked there for about 2 years before heading back to Karakura due to family issues and needing to get back home. However, since she still needed a way to make a living, she decided she would try to work at Karakura Hospital.
