Do you have Discord and a microphone? If so, what is your username?:
Simplypapi, I do have a microphone! And honestly it should be taken away from me. I yap too much..
List your timezone and country:
EST, United States
Describe your activity:
I am on a little too much honestly. . . Heh around 6+ hours a day, whether that be on my cheer character or building! and if by some miracle I am not directly on the server I am most likely drawing, chilling in a discord call or watching some weird reality TV show!
Link any significant applications (e.g., Roles/Teams, exclude languages):
I haven't applied for anything on forums other than languages.
What is your motivation to apply for reporter?:
In all honesty I never thought I would be interested in being a reporter but my best friend Cerbalance is one! And well she opened my eyes into this faction and how amazing and fun it could be,from running around with her, tracking down people to interview and then dropping to the floor to take really nice screenshots (and lets be real, THEY WERE REALLY NICE) was honestly what opened my eyes to this faction! The amount of fun I have been able to experience from the small fraction of it was immense, I even remember being a little greenie and buying my first newspaper, talking to that reporter and even READING a report was just amazing! But besides all that sappy stuff, I have a deep admiration and love for journalism and graphic design, as someone who had a full blown job in designing pamphlets, posters, business cards I can’t help but feel really drawn to this faction. I feel it really gives a creative outlet for people who want to give more than just roleplay, it allows us to share a story or moment with others and grant them the knowledge of something they perhaps wouldn’t have known about within the server or even just normal OOC things! Doing research on the prompts, gathering all the interviews, screenshots and just finally editing it all to be this one big masterpiece of a story is motivation enough, I know my passion for this faction will never dry out.
Do you have any experience with writing? What is your relationship with writing?:
Creativity! I believe we all have creativity even if one thinks otherwise. Just like drawing, writing has given me an outlet to be able to express what I see and feel into words. I remember during my early childhood I was put into journalism (Not by choice might I add!). My school had just hired their first ever journalism teacher and well they needed to fill the classroom up. At first I was against it but I kept an open mind and well needless to say it was far beyond what I had expected and It was just the beginning of my journey into writing. My teacher never shunned our ideas even if they were silly, and always allowed us to explore them. Seeing what I had written as just a simple little essay to be published into the school newspaper was what I would simply describe as magical. This opened my eyes into exploring storytelling which was how I got into DND also known as Dungeons and Dragons! This itself was a whole era and an era that is still ongoing. I think writing is beautiful, it's giving a piece of you onto a paper and sharing it with others, it's a story in itself and I don’t think any amount of words could describe that.
Are you aware of - and will follow - the set of rules provided to you?:
I am fully aware of the rules and I promise I will abide by them!
Why should we accept you over others?:
I just want to state I think everyone has their strengths and weaknesses and that I would never look down or bash on someone to simply make myself look better. However one (more like multiple) thing(s) I have, that I can wholeheartedly swear by is passion, commitment, and creativity. Those are three things I have never and will never lack. I pride myself in the fact that I have too many ideas and too much time on my hands. Hopefully I have provided an example of that throughout this application using things such as my edits and just overall adding my little flare to it. I love complicating my life and taking up challenges that I know once I get involved in, I simply will not be able to back away from. I think my prior life experiences also make me stand out as a candidate as I am very familiar with what it is like to work with people who are constantly wanting something ‘new’ or ‘different’ I am also just overall a very outgoing person, I do not shy away from meeting people although it can be a bit scary at times I will never be a closed off shell, I fear sometimes I ramble on a little too much whether that be in a verbal convo or writing!
Do you understand you have to stay completely neutral with all reports? (Your report can't have any OOC or IC bias towards a specific group.)
Yup! I am to stay 100% biased free.
Do you trust that you will be able to stay active and complete the monthly quota?:
Absolutely! If anything I fear I will have to be pried off this character..
Summarise what you imagine work as a reporter is:
I imagine it to be a very interactive job, Reporters always have to be on their toes searching and scanning the town for the next big story/topic. Always keeping up with things like trends is important as things like daily broadcasts are there to capture the attention of the town using pop culture references or even occasional town lore drops! You have to be able to deliver quality written pieces that also are appealing to look at. I can imagine it requires a lot of care and time as you can't rush quality, reading social cues and being aware of what questions to ask, curiosity is the best thing when it comes to creativity and not being scared to ask the questions that perhaps everyone is thinking, so being very outgoing and not scared!

IC (In-Character) Information:

Full Name:
Pushing her glasses back up, She glanced around the room, attempting to fixate on any little trinket, a small chuckle leaving the rather nervous woman
“Oh! That ones easy, Elena Roselló! Thank you again for this opportunity.”
The girls airy, soft voice echoed before she scooted further back into her seat, attempting to make herself a bit more comfortable
Preferred Name/Nickname and Title (e.g., Ms, Mr)
A faint smile made its appearance onto the womans face, cupping her hands onto her lap
“You can call me Elena or Ely, that is what most people refer to me as anyway..’
Twiddling with her thumbs she took a pause, clearing out her throat
“Oh! Am I married? No! I do not have a partner of any sort, they are faaaar too draining..”
In attempt to make herself feel a little less awkward over the not so great joke, she chuckled
Current Age (25+):
Reaching out she placed an ID card onto the table, tapping her nail towards her birthday
“I’m 25! Some people have a hard time believing it but I am in fact 25.”
The woman's small stature would certainly give off that impression.. Pulling the card off the table and back into her purse.

⊹₊⋆☁︎⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆☁︎⋆₊ ⊹
Past job/work experience:
Her brows furrowed, the thought made her physically cringe from the memory of her ‘younger’ self..
“Well I went to the states to study and when I was fresh out of school I took this job in drawing and editing webcomics! I actually very much enjoyed it, but I grew rather tired of just simply drawing and then later I went into editing them as well.. Working on webcomics I’d like to believe helped my ability to capture details, keep an audience engaged, and meet tight deadlines. As much as I loved my job I ended up leaving it, and started taking on freelance projects! chasing stories that intrigued me, talking to people, and piecing together narratives that mattered. I started posting my stories or I guess ‘reports’ to a small page of mine that although did not gain a lot of traffic it ended up being a huge motivation for me to apply here!”
Degree/qualifications:
A small nod, she smiled, after the last question it seems the woman's anxiety had calmed
“Ooo well I have a Bachelor's degree in digital arts and English, I also took a small online course in media law!”
Nationality and born location:
The woman's smile grew, seems as if she was proud of where she came from
“I am Colombian mixed with Chinese, I was born in the capital of Columbia also known as Bogotá, beautiful place might I add!”
Phone Number:
Tapping her nail against her chin, the woman had to really think.. And after a couple seconds passed it clicked
“Sorry- I just got the number.. But um its-”
She took a pause, mumbling to herself before speaking
“030-995-3978.. Yeah that's the right one!”
How would you describe yourself in under 150 words?:
Taking a second to really allow the question to sink, she kept her smile before speaking confidently
“Well what I would start off with is I'm a very ambitious person, I always strive for the next bigger better story.. I will never shy away from something simply because I believe it would be 'too much to handle' ha.. that reminds of the show 'too hot to handle' which- Sorry back on track!
The woman paused as she lost track of the words..
“..I am simply just a hardworking, honest, and kind person? Damn that sounds boring but I have more flare than ya think!”
What are you interested in writing about? How will you achieve this, and would you consider going out of your comfort zone?:
Taking no hesitation whatever the woman eagerly replied
“I’m very interested in reports about art, or just ‘pop culture’, I am very flexible tho so I would have no problem or struggle at all writing about something else! I am constantly pushing myself to go out of my comfort zone so I’m positive it would hold no issue for me.”
Nodding she was pleased with her answer
What are your expectations for the job?:
“Expectations.. Hmm..”
The woman took a second to really absorb what she exactly expected
“I’m expecting a job that allows me to explore all sectors of creativity within my mind, a Job that will support me with my writing but also be willing to give me feedback on ways my work may improve in a professional manner, one that pushes me to be better with each report! Those would be my expectations.”
Do you have a criminal record? If so, list the crimes below:
Placing her palm onto her chest, she was taken aback
“Heavens no, I have no criminal record.”
Fluent Languages (Underline your native):
“Well seeing as I was born in Columbia, Spanish is my native language, later on I learned Japanese!”

*Special thanks to Cerbalance for allowing me to use her character Ceva <3
[!] The sound of a tape being rewinded would fill the room, the cracking of the film before the image of two women and an enthusiastic voice replaced the noise [!]
[Elena] “Welcome! Thanks for coming in on such short notice! I do apologize as I haven’t had the time to clean up my desk..”
The sound of papers shuffling, as Elena stacked them up, turning herself back to the track star in front of her
[Ceva] “No worries! It’s like that all over my place anyway!”
Elena gave the girl a warm smile, grabbing a notepad she began to scan her desk
[Elena] “Now where- AH!”
Elena grabbed the pen out of her hair, and ‘CLICK’, writing onto the pad to test the ink
[Ceva] “OH. MY. GOD. My boyfriend also keeps pens in his hair!”
[Elena] “Oh! Ha.. yeah it’s good to have them always around! So Ceva was it? What's a trend that you hope NEVER, Comes back to Karakura!”
Ceva, hearing Elena's question, had a faint smile tug at her lips! She took a moment, allowing herself the luxury of thought before responding.
[Ceva] "Hmm, I believe every era has its own oomph but if I had to choose, it'd be those horrid galaxy print leggings from the early 2010s. While I appreciate the enthusiasm for bold patterns, I think we can all agree that some things are best left as fond- or not-so-fond memories."
Elena shivered.. She totally forgot about those, she hated them now but back then? God.. she LOVED them- Yikes, clearing her throat she played it off,
[Elena] “Those were for sure an era! Well since we spoke about the WORST let's talk about the best! How about a trend you hope DOES come back? Could be anything!”
Ceva paused for a moment, tapping a nail against the desk. Seems like there's a lot on the blonde's mind.
[Ceva] "That's an excellent question."
The young woman seemed to be lost in thought..
[Ceva] "Fashion is cyclical by nature, I'd say. However, I'd love to see the return of the early 2000s minimalism. I love clean silhouettes and neutral palettes, I try to incorporate these elements in my wardrobe to preserve what it was."
Ceva chuckled, followed by a tuck of a loose strand of hair.
[Ceva] "Back then, I admired designers like Phoebe Philo. I absolutely loved and still do love structured coats and sleek handbags… Fashion that spoke for itself without the need for excess!"
Elena nodded, jotting down whatever came out of the girl, mumbling to herself as she ‘CLICK’ backed the pen, laying it onto the desk
[Elena] “Minimalism, ‘Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.’ said by Leonardo da Vinci, and I couldn’t agree more!”
Elena glanced at her notes, a quick recap to the questions she had planned!
[Elena] “So, as someone who is what most people say is the number one consumer of trends, being the youth of Karakura, How would you say trends become viral?”
Ceva folded one leg over the other.
[Ceva] "Well, trends don't just happen out of nowhere! Honestly, virality pretty much involves psychology as much as it is about aesthetics. There's ALWAYS a catalyst, for example, an influential figure wearing a particular style. Social media, of course, accelerates this process, platforms we often use like Onrain and TikTok create an environment where trends can spread globally within. . . Hours. Like, a single post, a well styled-outfit and a clever marketing strategy- suddenly, something as simple as a specific shoe becomes a must-have of the season. Honestly, it's astonishing how a trend can start as a niche interest and within days, be everywhere."
Ceva huffed, she was a victim of trends.
[Ceva] "Sooo, in essence, virality is basically timing and influence mashed into a bowl of soup. That's my input, pretty much."

Elena took ahold of her pen tapping it against the paper
[Elena] “One could say we’re all like sheep following the shepherd of ‘aesthetics’
The woman tilted her head
[Elena] “Well in that case is there anything you have noticed that has gone up in popularity? Perhaps maybe something that could be the next ‘Viral’ trend?”
Ceva cleared her throat.
[Ceva] "If I had to predict what's next.. Okay! Before I begin, I don't wanna upset anyone, this is my own opinion, but I would say we're approaching a turn towards true luxury- not in branding. We've seen logo-heavy, maximalist trends dominate for YEARS, but I believe the next phase will appreciate craftsmanship more than anything. I'd love to see emphasis on textures and cuts and less of status symbols. People need to be more conscious of longevity in their wardrobes instead of choosing fast fashion.”
The young woman took a pause, taking a sip from the glass set in front of her
[Ceva] “That being said! I also see the return of hyper-feminine silhouettes. Um, romantic details, corsetry, stuff like that. Of course, trends can be unpredictable- sometimes, what takes off is the thing no one expects. Raccoon tails are a good example."
Elena smiled, she bought those glasses just for this! Seeing as she just moved.. Her place was bare.. But that's besides the point!
[Elena] “Oooou like a Vivienne Westwood muse stepping out of a baroque painting? That would for sure be an interesting trend for this town. Hitting the midway mark of our interview I do have to ask, What group would you say IS the most easily influenced in Karakura?”
Cevas fingers traced against the rim of the glass of water in front of her.
[Ceva] "I think it would be naive to say otherwise. People are always deeply influenced by trends, often without realizing it. Even those who claim to reject trends often do so in response to them- choosing to go against the grain is still a reaction to the grain itself. Social media has magnified this effect by TENFOLD. Trends appear overnight, go viral in days and disappear just as quickly. Not to say that influence is inherently bad, trends can be a beautiful thing and at the end of the day, confidence will always outshine any trend."
[Elena] Social media for sure has a huge impact no doubt, I do have to ask, in Karakura what group would you say is the most influential?
The young woman glanced around
[Ceva] "Err. . . In Karakura, influence equals presence. But if we're talking about like, sheer impact, it would be impossible to ignore the jocks. No bias."
Ceva examined her nails, before laying her hand back onto her lap
[Ceva] "Yeah, most of them play sports but I'd say that they also play a part in defining the social landscape of this town. AGAIN, NO BIAS, but they bring a certain level of prestige that no other group can replicate. No matter which clique you're in, being a jock means you're constantly in the public eye."
Elena glanced at the clock hanging on her wall- She lost track of how long she was taking..
[Elena] “Rapid fire! What would you say is the biggest trend in Karakura as of right now?”
Ceva exhaled, soft enough so the microphone wouldn't pick it up.
[Ceva] "Nothing I can think about off the top of my head but, I think it's this paradoxical idea of standing out. But like, in a way that still aligns with that's considered socially desirable. You'll see it in fashion too, everything is chosen carefully. Beyond clothing though, social currency has become just as valuable as wealth, especially within youth. People are more interested in who you know than what you have, the whole 'if you know, you know' mentality has NEVER been stronger. So, if I had to describe today's trend, it's probably authenticity and making everything look effortless when it isn't. Yeah."
Elena nodded, writing at the speed of light itself!
[Elena] “How do you think social media influences trends?”
[Ceva] "Social media makes people feel like they have an agency in trends. An illusion of participation that anyone can start a trend. But in reality, we all know that isn't the case." - "Ooh, and because trends move SO fast now, people don't adopt them because they like it, they adopt them because they're afraid of falling behind."
The young woman shrugged.
[Ceva] "There's zero time to make it your own because everything dies out fast, that's why fast fashion thrives and microtrends explode and die within weeks. The pressure to keep up is relentless.
Elena pushed her glasses further up, continuing to write..
[Elena] Ah- I see.. Well how much of what is trendy would you say is organic and how much is manufactured by influencers and brands?
Ceva scoffed
[Ceva] "Oh, almost nothing is organic anymore."
A small silence, the tape buzzed a bit
[Ceva] "Not to say nothing happens naturally anymore- some trends DO bubble up from subcultures, the most common example I can give is streetwear, which is common here- but even those get scooped up and repackaged the second they gain traction. So, if I had to put a number on it, I'd say 10% of trends are organic and the other 90% is all watered down, mass-produced business."
Elena nodded
[Elena] “And to wrap it all up! Have you ever followed a trend because you genuinely enjoyed it or just because it went viral!”
[Ceva] "I'd love to say that I only follow trends because I genuinely like them but let's be honest- everyone, at some point, has worn or tried something just because it was trending. Even if you don't think you're influenced, the moment you see something everywhere, it starts to feel. . . Normal. Desirable too. So to answer your question- yes, I do follow trends but only the ones I enjoy.”
[Elena] “Awesome! Well that concludes our interview. Thank you so much for your answers!”
[Ceva] “Of course! Ya know I mu-”
