What experiences do you have with roleplay?:
I’ve been playing on the server since August. I’ve made a bunch of friends and was previously and more recently accepted as a teacher on my alt account, as well as security guard at Pinkumo. Of course I cannot forget my amazing previous experience as a psychiatrist at EMS starting last October which I sadly had to vacate for a certain time. My college character will also be undertaking an EMS-internship as to keep up to date with the faction.
My main roleplay experience however stems from a good 14 years of tabletop roleplay in several systems. From the well-known “Dungeons and Dragons” system to the lesser known “Call of C’Thulhu” and “Vaesen” systems. These are respectively high fantasy, dystopian horror and historical horror settings in which I have intensely player together with groups of 3-6 other players. On top of this I’ve also been a Dungeon Master in my own campaigns for some years now, a part of the hobby I’ve started exploring during Corona-times.
Furthermore I am also an avid LARP-er (live action roleplay) and have been for 7 years. Playing both as a player character and NPC-roles in different settings. Mostly within fantasy settings but also post apocalyptic (think the world in the year 2150) or alternative history (Europe in alternative 1920s) settings. At the moment of writing this, early February ’26, I’m also finishing up preparations to run/organise an event the upcoming weekend (exciting and stressful!).
Suffice to say I've got quite a lot of experience with roleplay and delving deep on the inter-character aspect is what attracts me the most, as well as evolution of a character and its environment.
What is your motivation for applying?
I always like to be active and be doing stuff - without getting into trouble. Psychiatrists especially seem to be rare during the CET-hours of the day, I believe I would be able to fill a needed gap there. I've met quite a few people during my time on SRP and I believe my character could have a meaningful impact on others' mental (and to some extent physical) health.
Not only will I be able to help people whom I already know from my highschool-character, I'll also be able to further expand my network with friends-I-have-not-yet-met on the server by providing proper care for them. I feel working for the Hospital faction will give me the ability to provide genuine care to the people of Karakura round the clock and throughout the week, something I am genuinely looking forward to contributing to!
Which role are you applying for?
I am applying for the role of psychiatrist, although I would also be open for doctor if those would be more required as I’ve got quite a bit of knowledge of the ins- and outs already.
What knowledge do you have of the roles within the Hospital Faction?
I will mostly disregard the levels of seniority/management in my answer, but the hospital is generally run by the hospital director, helped by the chief paramedic and two clinical leads for the psychiatrists and doctors, as well as other higher placed doctors.
Furthermore we have three categories of people’s roles which I have summarized briefly.
Paramedics
The paramedics are the ones who are mostly the first responders to events happening outside of the hospital. They are there for first aid and general help of any department in town needing assistance. As they are recruited from the pool of doctors and psychiatrists, they can assist on both physical and mental matters. They are the only ones who are allowed to venture outside the hospital, as well as higher ups in the EMS-faction.
Paramedics can often be found patrolling the city, sometimes happily dragging other people along.
Doctors
Doctors provide the bread and butter procedures, doing check ups or more intricate physical procedures. They get "down and dirty" when need be. They provide scans, do various operations on organs, do transplants, do medical check-ups..
Psychiatrists
Less physically focused are the psychiatrists, they offer care of the mental side of the patients and offer therapy, being less hands- on than either the doctors or paramedics.
Generally speaking there are of course tasks that are more general, such as receiving people and subscriptions. Every category of person from the list above has to do their part in making sure the hospital runs as a unit. The hospital also has to be kept clean which is also a task any of the EMS staff could take up. A clean hospital is a welcoming hospital!
Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are expected to attend or you will be punished?
Absolutely.
In-Character (IC) Section
SECTION 1: PERSONAL DETAILS

Dr. Anders after a family therapy session.
(luckily not all members present were also present during family therapy)
Character’s Full Name:
Dr. Anders Lindahl
Character’s Gender and Pronouns:
Male – he/him
Character’s Age (if accepted):
38
Character’s Academic Background:
Anders would have an MD degree in psychiatrics and a PhD in philosophy. He likes to use his philosophical insights to help patients come to insights about themselves, their behaviour and the impact on their environment and of course the other way around. The basis for the more philosophical talks with his clients are however always grounded on a scientific basis.
Character’s Nationality:
Norwegian
Character’s Marital Status:
Single - married to his job
Character’s Religious Denomination:
Agnostic – thus not believing, nor disbelieving, the existence of any deity. He respects everyone’s religious views and stands open to change his own.
Character’s Spoken Languages:
English, Norwegian, Japanese
Character Backstory:
Anders hails from a suburban area around Bergen, Norway. He studied and worked at the world renowned medical Karolinska Institutet before moving to Karakura for a research exchange program. His focus has always been on helping people cope with trauma, grief, and cultural adjustment, the recent research had to do with the latter. As the research is coming to a close he is looking for a way to support both locals and foreign residents. Calm, reserved, and deeply observant, he’s known for listening more than speaking and for occasionally wandering the town’s shrines in quiet reflection. Having already worked at Karakura Hospital however, he has started calling the hospital the Temple of Science. The hidden places in the hospital such as the garden and swimming pool or even the rooftop can bring him a deep mental peace.
He has a brother, previously known as Valdemar Lindahl, who has married and taken the name of his husband. He is now called Valdemar Desmond and he teaches English at Karakura High.
As noted earlier he has also obtained a PhD in philosophy, which he finds very useful in his line of work. Reflection and getting people to reflect on their actions are a very important part of the psychiatrists' work. Anders’ brother is not quite convinced of the usefulness of his philosophical knowledge, although this might mainly be because he has nagged rather a lot while they were both recovering in hospital together.
SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY
What is your character’s medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?
Like many psychiatrists he trained as a general doctor first, but quickly realized he was more interested in people’s minds than their bodies. Psychiatry let him focus on the stories, struggles, and emotions that shape a person which is something he found far more meaningful than prescribing pills for physical wounds.
Psychiatry for Anders is like two sides of the same coin, the effect of the physical on the mental and the effects of the mental on the physical. Within the fields of psychology and psychiatry he has mainly specialised in adolescent psychiatrics. He's chosen this particular specialisation because he believes many traumas can take place in the periode pre-adulthood. He's also a firm believer of tackling the issues sooner rather than later, before they can turn into deep-rooted and severe issues.
His recent accident and near-death experience has broadened his mind even further. He believes he has achieved a greater understanding of people who suffer from certain mental illnesses such as psychosis and the like.
Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?
Although the majority of his experience was in medical based research and teaching at the Karolinska he has also helped out in the Karolinska Institut’s mental health facility, training with 14-20 year olds who were struggling with “growing up” and all the issues this entailed. He has thus had most the****utical experience with teenagers whom are a large part of the Karakura population.
Furthermore he’s worked at Karakura Hospital for several (ingame) months. During his first period he was elected psychiatrist of the month, something he was very proud of. Anders is a tryhard and a go-getter, deeply devoted to his task as a psychiatrist, putting in a multitude of hours and days taking care of patients.
SECTION 3: CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?
Anders is rather tall with 1.89m and archetypically blonde with blue eyes. He has intricate yet playful and friendly demeanour, despite his classical attire.
His green suit compliments his blonde hair quite well and when people take a few moments to look at him they often feel a sense of calmness. Nearly every movement Anders makes seems to have a clearly defined thought and meaning behind it. He tries to be as open as he can, without being unprofessional.
Clients - and others - are meant to be put at ease as Anders always explains his motives and the way he works. He is also open to questions and verifies boundaries with people in his line of work. Despite his clear openness and professionalism however, he also has a certain quirkiness to him. People who know him better would say this has to do with his solution-orientedness with people's problems and his learnedness.
How does your character act around the hospital?
He will attempt to be proactive, if there is no patient to be seen and he happens to see something odd happening right outside, he may ask what is happening. Maybe the person needs help but is scared to come in? Do not fear, Anders is very much here.
If there are no people who need help, he'll try to see if any paperwork or practical jobs need doing. Rest makes people rust, Anders thinks. He will seldomly take time off, the hospital is his true home, the place he comes to rest even if it isn’t quiet.
Does your character function better on their own or with others?
Anders is highly functioning by himself, he however knows that being a health care professional is not a solo-job. As a psychiatrist his main practice is solo-oriented, but he does operate within a system of care-takers and health workers. Every single one of his colleagues needs to be able to their job to the best of their ability, he is thus convinced that everyone should carry their own weight and make the hospital run smoothly.
