Additionally, do you have a microphone and can speak via discord?
Yes, I do have a mic and can speak via discord, I just don’t for personal reasons.
Your time zone:
EST
Link any previous community team applications if applicable:
I tried out for helper team but I don’t know if I can use that.
Do you recognize you could be removed from the community team?
I do recognize that I can be removed from the community team.
List a few things that may obstruct your progress/development on the Lore Team.
Deadlines, I am bad with them mainly because motivation goes to an all time low. I do my best to make them but there are times where I can't just write something on the fly.
Writer’s block: ties into the motivation and makes it hard to write, and that is tricky, especially when I have a deadline set and can't actually write.
What makes you passionate about writing?:
Seeing how people react to stories of mine is one, I love seeing how my boyfriend or people I know react when I share my writings, mainly my angst ones. My writing is the only thing that can fully show emotion, I am passionate but not always proud at what I write meaning I go back, I change it or add some more words. Most of my stories aren't good and that's okay, I am still learning, I am trying my best to show that writing is going to be bad but it takes time to perfect.
Do you have any previous experience with writing lore or creative writing as a general aspect?:
Yes, I did a creative writing class and I taught myself how to when I was in 7th grade, wrote my first full book in grade 9 and grade 10. I am still writing today in 12th grade. I have been published before in a contest when I was in 10th grade, and me and a few others at my in real life school have a club just for writing and have published a book or two for the school to read.
In your own words, give your definition of lore:
"Lore" is how something started, how something came to be, it's a spark that started something. It's like a mythology or someone's culture.
WRITING PROMPTS:
RULES

  1. You are expected to write in the third person, and narrate in a reliable and neutral tone. Do not focus your prompts specifically on one character’s perspective, but on a bigger picture.
  2. There is a 300-1000 word limit that applies to both prompts. Because of flow, if you need to go a little over or under, you are permitted to, but as soon as a prompt is 100 words outside the limit, you will be automatically denied.
  3. The effort and quality of both prompts will be taken into consideration when we accept applications.

Summarize a character conflict, roleplay conflict, or event that you experienced (server-wide, personal, etcetera- there is no bar for how ‘interesting’ or ‘impactful’ it is). Be sure to follow the above guidelines.

Behind a lock door, stood Maverick Jackson and Jekyll Solace. Eyes focused on the door as they waited for Maverick’s twin brother to hurry over to Jekyll’s apartment. Maverick was pacing, Jekyll was waiting to open the door.

“Mav, it’s okay.” Jekyll told Maverick, feeling like he should be doing something else to help him.

Maverick looked up at the dyed hair boy, a scared look in his eyes as he realized that his fathers could do something to hurt him, Jekyll or his brother. He didn’t mean to hurt his girlfriend, he didn’t mean to at all but his girlfriend thought differently.

Jekyll heard a knock on the door, quickly opening it to let in Maverick’s twin brother who walked in. Not even twenty minutes go by before one of the twins' parents are outside the apartment, yelling for the two to come out.

Jekyll looks at the two boys, before opening the door to his room, making them hide inside before the men outside could see them. Tension raised from the outside and inside the house as the twins looked at each other, not knowing what to do as they sat there.

That one parent of Maverick and his brother tried to get in, yelling at the two to come out, staring right through Jekyll who was near the door’s window, trying to see inside to see where his kids were.

“I will call the police if you do not leave.” Jekyll told the man, the glare in his eyes showed he wasn’t joking, he would do anything to protect the two in his room, the ones he called his brothers even if he and one of them didn't get along.

Jekyll Solace would go to war to protect Maverick Jackson and his brother, he told Maverick that himself.

Create a folklore tale based on an existing area in Karakura of your choosing; tell us a story! Show us how creative you can get. Be sure to follow the above guidelines.

Long ago, the Eden Tree stood where a forest once flourished. It was a magnificent tree, taller than most of the trees in the forest. Years passed and the tree grew, standing tall, as the forest changed around it. In ancient drawings, books, anything you could name, the tree was spoken of.

For generations the tree was a symbol of peace throughout the land. Tribes, kingdoms and more all gathered here to declare peace with their enemies turned allies. Tribes would place offerings to the gods on this very tree.

“The Tree of Eden should never be destroyed.” said a leader from long ago, No one knew the name of the leader, as if it was lost to time.

As the world was aging, it seemed as though the tree did not. When the old leaders of Karakura came here from the mainland, they saw the tree and found ruins and stories in which the tree was the subject of peace. In honor of those who believed the tree kept peace, they built around it, never once damaging it. The tree stood as a village formed around it.

The new leaders stated that no harm should come to the tree as it was there to show that even peace could foster a healthy village. But one day, disaster struck, and a fire broke out, causing the Eden Tree to burn. The once-beautiful tree that shone in the sun was gone.

The villagers cried as they realized their beloved tree was no more. The village leader went to find a new tree for his people from the nearby forest. There, he found a sapling and took it back, planting it where the old one once stood so tall.

Decades later, as the village grew more modern, becoming a city as time went on. They had built a road, leaving space in the center for the tree to remain. They constructed what is now called the "Shopping District" around the tree, and the place where the tree sits is now known as “The Eden Roundabout.”
