Describe your activity on the server:

My days are busy but I'm always on in the evenings. Most of the time when I am on, I roam to look for RP or lore for my main character and if nothing is going on I just go afk, tailoring. I'm usually found at Plaza when I'm on as that is my favorite spot to rp. When there are things for me to do online, I'm on my adult OC, running around creating lore, roleplaying on school grounds, or helping students out of tricky situations. For example, I often have my character act as a lawyer, advocating for students, covering for them, and persuading faculty to give second chances so they avoid detention. Returning to my main point, my activity in SchoolRP. I'm very connected to the community; Previously, I contributed significantly as part of the Professor faction. I always look for new players to help them start roleplaying, answering both OOC and IC questions. I regularly check the server and Discord for updates and stay involved because I enjoy my presence on SRP, especially when bringing different people into storyline lore. One thing that is really important to me is character lore and I have a few friends who also view the same as I do and leads us to having planned events, that will help us flesh out our character. Additionally, I am a freshman in college at the moment, and when I am active, I play 2-4 hours a day. However, this time varies depending on the day and weekends, which increase depending on the RP situations I become involved in. This also includes events such as holidays. As I mentioned earlier, SRP isn’t just a game to me, but a community, and in many instances, it can serve as a stress reliever or a second home. I've formed friendships and expanded my connections across various situations, from faculty and government to jocks, normal SRP events, and family role-playing. In my personal instances, I have a decent presence in roleplay that involves international-themed and educational RP (like previously being an economics professor). My daily activities include running and developing the lore of a merciless father who causes everlasting chaos with popular crime groups, as well as guiding new players. I normally help both new and veteran players in understanding school/faculty protocols, standards of RP manners, and methods for deepening their character lore, as I have experience in these fields of RP. Over time, I've engaged in and organized bilingual and even trilingual classes/events in the past, often involving Dutch, French, and JSL, in some of my roleplay, to add more realism and unique intensity to my character's background. My creativity in lore has bettered both the academic and “slice of life” sectors of roleplay in some scenarios I have been a part of; But I am not saying I am all around known in SRP, but as far as the SchoolRP aspect, many know my character for some of these characteristics listed about my main character, Deborah Garcia or any prior character. I am fully dedicated to creating a safe, innovative, and highly interactive environment, determined to uphold SRP's standards.

5PM - 9PM Sometimes I play up to 11PM
5PM - 9PM
This may change as time goes on but for the next few months its looking to stay the same.
5PM - 9PM
5PM - 7PM At times but mainly its 5PM - 9PM as usual but its very rare when I can only play for 2 hours on these days.
5PM - 12AM To be completely fair, Fridays are my most active days because I rarely ever do things on these days, but it could change soon due to work.
8AM - 10PM
8A - 10PM
This is the day before school so likely the times I am active on these days are
8AM - 8PM

^ These are all my current times I am active, which is mixed with my school schedule as well so these times may vary depending on the work load each day ^

Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you will be demoted?:

Absolutely! Responsibility means showing up. If I can’t log in for a period of time (like if my real-world school exams ambush me like the usual..), I’ll make sure to fill out an inactivity-log and contact my faction lead.

School Employee Role you are applying for?:

Nurse

In as much detail as possible, describe the employee role you are applying for:

A school nurse does way more than put on bandages and take temperatures. They're like a secret guardian for every student in the building. At Karakura High, the nurse is a major role of the school. They don't just fix up scratches, bruises, or the classic, a sick student. They help the whole place stay healthy, calm, and strong. On any given day, a nurse jumps in to help with anything, a student slips, someone gets whacked by a locker, a migraine out of nowhere or some student gets socked in the eye by another student.. As per usual. But their job isn't just about quick fixes. They plan out health programs, team up with teachers, and check in on students who might be struggling. Physical stuff and mental stuff, both. A great nurse can stay cool in the midst of chaos. Imagine three students fainting at once just because someone got a papercut, or a student having a meltdown over a head bump, even though this is high school, it could still be something that someone goes crazy over.. They assist students, but also sit and listen to how they feel. Sometimes, it's more about talking than treating. A wonderful example is a school fight for example, one spartan fighting a bobcat, they both are wrong and need some lecturing and it's always great to sit down and talk about what's going on or what provoked them to act the way they did.. In general, a Nurse will use bandages, ice packs, and even something as little as a calm, collected voice to get everyone through the day. The city of Karakura is mixed, with a variety of backgrounds and languages. In many scenarios, students do not feel open about talking about a situation in which their situations that lead them to the nurse’s office, occur. The main point is that the nurse’s room is a place where students should be able to be open about advocating for themselves. Now what is a nurse? A nurse is someone you can trust, just like a mom or close friend, it's someone who you can rely on. They always keep things private. They're friendly, students actually want to visit, because they know it's a place where someone really cares about how they are feeling mentally and physically as that relies on how they perform through the day.

What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?:

My background in SRP has changed and still if not is limited.. I used to play as a college professor on Deborah Garcia which I had to quit due to inactivity with schooling. I have only done things like DND, some roblox roleplay and at a point in time I did voice acting for a minecraft roleplay. My time in SRP began more from the outside. I joined SRP and was met with a different set of diversity in roleplay with that being, educational role play alongside shrine staff, faculties, government officials, and athletes. I’ve also developed various sorts of gameplay.. Unlike other roleplay platforms I’ve played on, SRP has set me apart from them as there is like a sort of “free roam” when you join and you can be anything as far as animals, factions and roleplay how you want, of course not inappropriately but I'm sure you get the jist.. We don’t see one major interaction between human beings once a day, it's multiple times a day... Excluding all this stuff which is very random I do like to take part in GTA RP or at least I did at one point and World of Warcraft RP Guilds. There I have played the role of a loremaster to community event creators in these communities, of course not SRP but in GTA RP communities. The most major role however, has been an officer on several servers as you need to be very responsible to get that role. For warcraft RP, I joined first Mediation and mentor focused guilds. As I haven't stated, I am similar to the character I play being raised in a place full of cultural elements and multilingual aspects to life. Remember the days when you didn't have to practice? Yeah, they are no more when I literally was an actor for different kinds of roleplay groups and drama classes. I am also an avid actor in real life or at least in the past. I remember when I was set to be in drama class, it eventually led to the point where I became the lead of different scenarios in plays.. All these experiences, in and out of SchoolRP, have given me a passion and engagement approach to roleplay and lore creation.

Why do you want to join the School Employee faction?:

The reason for joining the School Employee faction is because I believe the faction could use someone else who runs toward a crisis, not away from it. As the person who played Deborah Garcia, a professor in Karakura High, she was a very polite person but when things were getting fuzzy on the radio and there needed to be a staff present, she’d always be there ready for whatever. In Karakura high school where energy, stress, and emotions are very frequent between characters, the nurse is often a student’s first line of help for everything from minor pains to even, on some occasions.. Meltdown mode. Now don’t think a nurse is some kind of psychiatrist but when something is wrong, and you need someone close, similar to that of a guardian, they are someone you can speak to. Ever since I started on SRP, I’ve always wanted to roleplay a doctor of some sort or someone who takes care of people who need medical attention, like for example I think a school nurse is perfect because you get to help out school staff, roleplay a character with a polite, meaningful profile and assist students in a clear and responsible manner. Over time I have noticed that the nurse’s office is somewhat an intersection because students appear in the office not just to be patched up, but to be listened to, reassured, and understood after an unfortunate situation occurs. To become a member of the School Employee faction, I want to roleplay the character who makes other’s characters feel like they matter, who can turn a bad day into a better one and who is always ready with bandaids, hot chocolate, candy, and an ice pack just in case.
Joining the School Employee faction lets me take part in one of the main sectors of roleplay on school grounds, and I believe that is a job that takes responsibility and having been a professor in the past, better the work ethics and responsibility that is needed upon being a part of the faction. I want to collaborate with other staff members in the school employee faction, be an advocate for safety and wellness, and possibly even start creative health efforts (like Mental Health Awareness Week, or “Hydration Station” for summer which would obviously be a future event that my character could assist in hosting in the future towards summer). I do NOT wanna seem like I have an overconfident persona but I do believe I succeed when helping others or even directing overs in the right direction. Becoming a nurse would combine my love for lore creation, teamwork, possibly future real world career and the chaotic unpredictability of the high schoolers in Karakura.

Situations pic 1.jpg

During a work-shift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how does your character react?:

At first, Emi would blink, confused as to what in the world is going on.. It stings a little but as soon as she remembers she’s the adult here, she focuses on the student, straightening out her posture so she could heighten her presence as the authority in the situation. She knows anger can be a symptom as much as pain is. Emi would remain calm, breathing carefully. She looked up and returned the gaze of the student with her head tilted to the left while speaking in an extremely courteous tone, trying to get the student to calm down. She wasn’t trying to pose a threat to the student as she knew the student would just escalate the situation further if she raised her voice in the slightest, trying to be a threat. Emi would calmly speak to the student, "Sounds like you're having a rough day sweetheart. Can we talk about what’s really going on?" If the student continues, she remains patient and calm. "You're not in trouble. Sometimes the nurse's office is the only place where students can really feel open about things.. But if you want help, I need you to help me help you. Deal? Is that okay with you?" She keeps calm to earn the student's trust and de-escalate the situation further. If things get out of hand, she notifies a nearby teacher or calls for backup, always putting everyone's safety first as a responsible adult on school grounds.

You notice two students are physically fighting in the hallway, – multiple punches have been thrown – how does your character react?:

Emi darts between the students with little to no hesitation, using her loudest, yet calmest “STOP!” voice, trying to physically separate them without putting herself in danger. She had her arms crossed like a disappointed mom with a face that read discomfort in the moment.
Knowing her authority, she’d radio other faculty staff for assistance, “May I get some help in the hallway near the gym and dodgeball courts, student altercation, come quick before it gets escalated further! I may also need a caretaker to check cameras after the situation, they aren’t quite listening to me so SLT will be involved..” After radioing for back up during the situation, she’d immediately focus on the one who is injured, she provides emergency first aid. Her priority is to disperse conflict and protect everyone present. She would keep her posture confident, voice even and open. Her voice is calm and the situation much more calm allows her to gather her thoughts. She shows her thoughts for violence through her body language which was very stiff in that moment. Once help from fellow colleagues arrives, she assesses for injuries, then picks the student up and brings them to the nurses office. She makes sure the students are seated apart so no further dispute occurs, as she knows that if one does occur, she’d be at fault for the situation as she is now responsible for the students. She debriefs them quietly away from each other listening to what led to the fight, while keeping thorough notes of the situation from each student, so she can notify what happened to SLT.

Another school employee is clearly acting inappropriately, doing something very dangerous on the job, how does your character react?:

Emi trusts herself and her authority as a school employee but not blindly as that would make her seem highly irresponsible. She approaches her colleague privately, making sure to keep her composure and stay respectful at all costs. Emi refuses to speak about the situation out loud which could possibly humiliate them in public and break the school employee handbook. She instead makes sure she moves to a much more private spot to speak to her colleague appropriately as she knows that is the respectful thing to do as an adult on school grounds. Emi then speaks to her colleague in a very polite tone of voice but her face would speak of discomfort from the situation, “Hey, I noticed something earlier that could put students at risk. Can we talk for a moment?” She mentions the dangerous behavior directly and professionally. If the employee ignores her concerns, she de-escalates the situation so an argument doesn’t break out between them and she immediately takes the situation up to SLT or, if immediately urgent (like unsafe use of chemicals or unlocked medications), stepping in herself to stop it before harm is done. Documentation is major, so she keeps an open log of everything she witnessed, abiding by her school employee handbook but always prioritizing student safety.

When in the employee break room, how does your character act?

Emi has a very friendly and inviting persona in the break room. Very polite and intrigued, she’d be seen holding a cup of hot chocolate when she approached the group of school employees, “How’s your day going?” she says to one of the colleagues who looks in her direction. Emi being the presence of someone who looks after everyone’s well-being, not just the students’. Some days she's in the break room very silent, just being studious and researching health flyers to stay up to date with the newest health guidelines. Other days she's the one person in the break room who breaks the silence in the room to share recipes or offer everyone coffee in the morning out of respect and leadership. She’s respectful of others’ space, remembering not everyone wants to chat at times. If someone looks down, she’ll check in, but carefully. When leaving the break room she would walk over to a student who is known for not doing so well and place a post-it sticky note that would say, “Remember to breathe” left on their locker. The sticky note that Emi placed on the student’s locker would have a little smiley face at the bottom of it to try and make the student feel acknowledged and happy. Her motive and purpose as a nurse, keeping everyone with healthy smiles including her colleagues.

Provide us with at least three detailed /me's of your character whilst on your chosen role:

/me
walks over to one of the nurse beds. She’d start looking around anxiously as if something was off. She takes a moment to breathe and relax herself to get ready for the school day. She walks over to check her supplies which were pencils and notes on each student. Emi folds her arms, her lips curling into a prideful smile. She expects to see many of her closest students, and lays out colorful ice packs on the counter just in case. The room would reek of the scent of herbal tea which calmed her nerves to get the day started. A polite knock on the door scares her a bit, as she wasn’t expecting it. She straightens her posture and opens her arms with a soft smile, saying, “Come in, you are always safe here.” to her shock it was a colleague. Emi gives her a welcoming smile and gestures for her to walk into the room.

/me hears the words of a student who just asked for aid. Emi immediately gets out of her chair and walks outside of the nurse’s office to see the student with a sc****d knee. Emi stayed respectful of the student and she sits on a stool beside them. So firstly, what happened?” She says with a gentle sigh in her voice, she was patient and just wanted to make sure the student was okay and could be open with her and admit to her what all happened, to lead up to this event. Emi speaks to the student, with an even lighter tone of voice than the last, “It’s okay! Let’s get you cleaned up and feeling like yourself again.” Emi would apply saline to clean and dis-infect the wound. She’d then apply soothing cream with steady hands so she didn’t make the situation worse and ask about favorite hobbies, distracting from the pain. She offers a bright sticker with a cheerful animal despite the student’s age, telling him being brave means showing up even when things hurt. She says in a gentle voice, “I know you are old but hey it's okay to feel young and have stickers!” She giggles giving the student a thumbs up gesture.

/me hears her radio and what she hears, makes her squint and worried. She hears on her radio that a student fainted in the cafeteria. Emi immediately holsters her ready and runs out of her office, making her way to a hall full of students. She’d approach the unconscious student and drop down to one knee positioned right beside the student, checking their pulse and consciousness. She grabs her radio which was clip onto the side of her pants. Emi politely speaks on the radio and exclaims, “Hey Could I get some backup in the cafeteria, ima need a faculty to get these students to back up and give me some space so I can treat the student who is unconscious.” After she makes it known over her radio that she needs some backup, she re-holsters her radio and asks the crowd to back off and attempts to create a respectful space, where care can be given to the unconscious student. After a thorough check, she reminds the student, “You are safe, do not worry. I am here to help.” Emi, checks for the student’s pulse and breathing to double check as she’d rather be safe than sorry. She walks the student to the nurse's office so the student can be further treated. Emi, with a smile on her face, speaks out to the student once more, “Hey hun! Can you please tell me what you last recalled, before I walked you to my office? Just letting you know, I will be treating you further but, I’ll have to ask you a few questions so I can file this incident.” She politely says while keeping her gaze on the student's, to show obvious respect and care.

Backstory.jpg

Emi Yamaguchi hadn’t fully developed into a person with composure in her chaotic heart. She was the middle one of five, born in Osaka but raised in Karakura. At the time her mother owned a bakery which Emi would take part in cleaning up for openings. The strong scent of melon bread just out of the oven filled the shop and students from Karakura High, frequently stopped by before school to chat. Emi was the peacemaker, even as a little girl. She bandaged her siblings, sc****d elbows and met with every student who would be stressing on the bakery steps with tea, biscuits. Care was a huge necessity to her. To this day one memory still sticks in her head, “Her younger brother came home in tears, burning up and the nearest clinic was miles away.” With trembling hands but a determined heart, Emi relied on everything her mother had trained her to know and sat with him all through the night. After her parents commented on how well she maintained calm during the event, Emi realized that at least in times of emergencies is where she could help. Her time in school was both a struggle and one of happiness. Emi was a shy, introverted girl who acted indifferent to anything that surrounded her, depending on the situation, drama or just something minor. She created a club for middle school students which revolved around the matters of “care” and she used to volunteer with older people in her local community during weekends when she was free. Emi knew what she wanted to do with her life by the time high school was finished. She was great with science and health, becoming something of a student assistant to the nurses at Karakura High. She learned things from how to clean wounds safely all down through what could be considered “emotional first aid”. Her mentor, Nurse Kato Yakazaki who was strict yes but loving too showed her the pros of how a steady hand and softer word could work miracles. Emi attended university in Tokyo after going to her hometown of Karakura and graduated with a BSN, soon missing the opportunity for home leadership, and for the presence of the city. She felt that she had lost her place. Working in local clinics, and as a community health advocate for the past several years gave her a different perspective of healing. She learned that healing is not just about medicine. It was strictly about trust, hope and the tiniest of kindnesses every single day. Now, working at Karakura High again Emi is determined to bond wellness into every situation, brainstorm new unique resources for health and make sure everyone knows the nurse’s office is a safe space no matter what comes their way.

Growth...

A. Early Childhood (Ages 0-10)
In Emi’s early childhood, her mother owned the local bakery, which was the community's clubhouse. She remembers the scent of flour.. Many kids focused on all the delicious artworks the bakery had to offer meanwhile Emi focused on lives that were being lived. She watched her mom crouch to comfort every crying child, heard her dad advocate for honesty and ability to share, and learned to play nurse before she could tie her shoes. Emi’s curiosity was part of her equality persona, so she wanted to know why it hurt, why some kids were quiet, and why something as little as a fever could make a brother sad. Her mother always said, “Kindness is the first medicine.”

B. Middle School (Ages 11-14)
Emi’s middle school years were her first years of coming across anxiety. She started stressing from school, friendships began to fade, and worry for her grandmother’s health began to overwhelm her. Many times Emi would resort to these pains by sneaking off to go to the library, reading every book she could find about the heart, the mind, and how to help others. Let alone, she wasn’t worried about her own problems, she just wanted to help others as that was the only way she could find happiness. When a friend fainted during relay race tryouts, Emi was the one who pulled her up and ran for help. In this situation she had a sense of understanding. She acted in an emergency when everyone else froze and didn’t know what to do. This event that Emi took part in, gave others a perspective of her journey to adulthood. Little did everyone know, this is the route she wants to take when she gets older.

C. High School Years (Ages 15-18)
In Karakura highschool, Emi was known to have a very humble spirit. She wasn’t any sort of top athlete or jokester. Emi was just the one kind of person who people could always go to when they didn’t know where else to let their minds roam freely. She attempted to become a student council but failed and instead she became a student aide in the actual nurse’s office. Her first taste of chaos came when the school had a food poisoning scare. Emi helped calm and comfort the ones who were panicked. She even baked lemon bread for the sick students who were under supervision. Her favorite memory from high school was setting up a “Secret Compliment Exchange” to boost the school’s spirit during exam week. She realized that many students love to feel acknowledged and seen amongst others, it's almost a healing that is better than medicine.

D. University and Nursing School (Ages 19-22)
Emi moved to Tokyo for her undergraduate nursing schooling, meeting students from various kinds of backgrounds like Japan and other places.. Emi specialized in pediatric and youth health. She got her first experiences as a clinic staff, by applying to volunteer at a free clinic. She learned medical Japanese and English to help with translation for foreign families. While Emi was in Nursing School, she had to make a research project. Her project was named “Kindness in Care”. This research project advocated for the positives and effects of small gestures in Pediatric Medicine, and she was recognized for her unique approach to the aspect of ‘medicine’ in Nursing School.

F. Return to Karakura (Ages 23-25)
After graduation, Emi returned to her hometown. Emi claims the reason she left Tokyo was because “Tokyo was repetitive from start to finish”. Emi returned to Karakura, a much smaller town than Tokyo, but a place known to be less chaotic than many packed towns in Japan. Emi was overwhelmed by the flood of patients coming in and out of the hospital she worked at and therefore she wanted to move to pursue her career somewhere which wasn’t as hectic and overwhelming. Emi also just really missed the old memories and the spirit of Karakura, being it was the same town she grew up in as a teen. Her parents were older, the bakery got quieter, and the city’s ‘youth’ became no more as everyone from her childhood grew up.

Emi started working at a community clinic, treating local children and teens. She realized the real challenge wasn’t always illness.. The real challenge was loneliness, lack of communication, and students who stopped asking for help because they feel like they can’t be open or they feel like their past experiences with receiving care were rushed or irresponsible.

It was at Karakura’s annual Summer Festival when Emi met her former school nurse, now retired. The meeting for her felt like it was something that's been needing to happen.. Nurse Kato recalled his old memories of student chaos and said, “You always chose listening first.” Emi understood the words that left his mouth as if it was a motivational speech. The words that left Mr. Kato’s mouth was not just a compliment, but a wake up call for her motivation to become a nurse. That same evening she spoke to Mr. Kato, she applied for the nurse’s role at Karakura High.

G. The First Year at Karakura High (Ages 25-26)
It was her first time picking up a clip board and pencil in that office. She realized that even returning to a familiar environment doesn’t mean everything would be so simple. The nurse’s office was dusty, the beds were not done, and the records on file were years out of date. Emi spent time on organizing a new filing system to make the nurse’s office a lot easier for documentation and care. She reordered medical supplies, and repainted parts of the walls which were becoming more worn off and chipped over the years. She brought in plants for fresh air, made origami for the creative decoration of the office, and posted various kinds of bilingual signs so every student could access care if needed.

Her first real test as a nurse for Karakura High, came during her second week working. The situation started as a simple fire drill that went wrong. Emi received word about students needing care by the stairs outside of her office.. Three students apparently tripped down the stairs, all bleeding and one shaken up from the fall. Emi prioritized staying calm so it didn’t make matters worse, even as her hands shook. She applied aid to the student’s wounds quickly and kept the crowd calm with her polite voice. Afterwards, she gave the students small journals which had a pre-made prompt from Emi, “What’s one thing you’re proud of dealing with this week.” She also mentioned how it was optional for them to do it but much recommended as she knew it was a way to make them forget about their pain and put their mind on something else. Emi focuses on comfort and she acknowledges how students feel during rough situations.

H. Currently.. (Age 27, This Year)
Emi has now had lots of experience as the role of a nurse in Karakura High. Her first years were carried out with being shy most of the time and not fully knowing how to deal with some of the most enthusiastic students she's ever dealt with. Parents know her phone number by heart and faculty tends to approach her office to engage in open conversations about their emotions and health. The nurse’s office was a place that felt similar to a living room, decorated with thank you cards, health posters, and lost sweatshirts that students forget during emotional visits.

Emi believes her greatest gift is “existence.” In a world where she can advocate for the values of staying still and truly acknowledging what a student says, and what they do not. Her dream is for Karakura High’s reputation to be known around the world as a place that has safe support, not just academic greatness.

Motivation for Joining KHS (Character perspective):

"I want each student I come across, to feel valued as a student. My main goal as a nurse is to have each student have a say on how they feel. When Mr. Kato was a nurse on campus, he educated me on how important it is for a school to connect in positive ways with their students. My main focus as a nurse on school grounds is to make all students feel that they can trust me to be there for them in any given situation they are involved in."

“At times when I was young, I had a tendency to be struggling from problems overwhelming me. All I wanted at the time is to just have someone I can speak to and vent everything to without being judged for it.. The nurse’s office on campus was the only place in school I felt like I could be open. Mr. Kato always made time for me to communicate with him while being on school grounds. He was like a second father or a better version of the student council. Mr. Kato was never the one to judge me in any situation that happened. He listened to all the things I would vent about, even if it meant very little, he showed that every word that was being said, mattered.. I really wanna be the person to take what he gave me and pass it on to other students, and let them get the same care and comfort I received when I was younger.”

“I believe being a school nurse is about caring and acknowledging your students’ feelings. I want to help students who feel like they can’t vent about their problems. Maybe those same students are seeking help and they just don't know how to ask for it or who to go to and by being that advocate who wants the best for their students, I know I am capable of doing so. I know what it means to be a nurse as I used to work in a few clinics. It isn’t just treating someone who is hurt, it is also about caring for people, rather than mentally or physically. My ultimate goal is to make the students display a smile the whole day instead of carrying the weight of their outside world on their shoulders. As you can see, mental health is a big part of my life and giving it the proper knowledge it requires as it is a very real thing. School can be hard to get through during the day with poor mental health. In the past, I also had a terrible time in high school because of my mental health which improved over the years by constantly speaking to Mr. Kato. I also want to get students more interested in health, by running some clubs or maybe even events that involve health of course.”

“By default the safest place in the school is the Nurse's Office. But the goal is to turn it into not only the safest place in school but turn it into a place where students will feel comfortable enough to share and always be listened to. Afterwards, I will have accomplished my goal as a School Nurse at KHS. I want everyone to understand that, at times, kindness in a safe space and rest is just as important as other health related care.”

Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?:

Emi is very consistent with how she acts every day at school. She never judges, never assumes, but always listens first and then she acts when she has to. Her waiting before acting is a positive trait about her as it makes her approachable to every student, regardless of their background or their problems. She is there before 7:30 every day to make sure the nurse’s room is clean and organized. In the mornings she gets her day started by coffee in the faculty room and offering to make her colleagues some. She drinks coffee to keep her wide awake and give her the boost of determination she needs to treat each student with her best ability. Emi’s background in pediatric and local nursing means she is already prepared for possible emergencies and scenarios to come. She learns every student’s name, celebrates every small victory, and finds a way to make health education fun. Emi’s main work ethic is teamwork. She won’t hesitate to ask for help, and she never lets joy get in the way of care.

Every student deserves to be seen, heard and, and valued. Emi makes sure that is the case in every scenario she comes across. That’s the difference she brings to school faculty and why she would value getting the opportunity to be a part of Karakura High’s school faculty team.
