The Hayasaka Family Lore

The Hayasaka family had established itself in Kyoto as a wealthy, prestigious, and respected family that seemed unbreakable. All thanks to the traditional family business that was based on the trade of high-quality silk, which consumed their entire lives. Their name has become synonymous with elegance and strict adherence to tradition and certain rules, but the family has so far been known only on the positive side.

The Legacy of the Hayasaka family

The Hayasaka family traces its roots back to the Edo period, when their ancestors started the silk trade. Over the years, they built their empire by producing high-quality kimono fabrics. They supplied them not only to Kyoto's aristocracy but also to the imperial court. Each new generation lived under big pressure, given the fact that they would be expected to maintain and multiply the family fortune.

Divorce: A Broken Legacy

The current patriarch and matriarch of the family (Jin Hayasaka) and (VACANT) have always been a shining example of what an ideal marriage should look like. The father, as a strict businessman, managed the family business. The mother, on the other hand, focused on maintaining a good family image. However, their marriage was falling apart; at first the couple tried to hide it, but over time arguments became a daily occurrence at the Hayasaka’s estate. The father's obsession with the family business completely consumed him, while the mother wanted to maintain the family's good image, which began to quarrel with the father's ideas. He did not think of the image only as to how to multiply the family fortune, with no other circumstances in mind.

When their daughters, Neon and Rina, were 7 years old, the quarrels at home hit a breaking point—Their parents divorced with each other, which shook the whole family and town. Both of them were consumed with their own problems, and twins became a bargaining chip in their struggle. No one had time to take care of them; none of them cared.

Neon and Rina: A twins in exile

Ai Hayasaka, Twins Aunt was fed up with their selfish fight; she took twins with her consent, and they moved out together to Karakura, and parents didn't even protest; instead, they continued to fight. Although at first the move for twins seemed like an exile, over time Karakura became a refuge for them, a sanctuary. Ai Hayasaka gave her everything she needed to develop properly. Twins parents did not visit them; the only thing they did was support Ai Hayasaka financially... as long as they could.

Neon Hayasaka - At a crossroads

Neon, through the sudden change in her life, was torn between two worlds: on the one hand, it was instilled in her how big a responsibility it was to carry that name and carry on the family tradition; on the other hand, Ai Hayasaka gave her freedom; she didn't have to be stuck in the mire. The differences in upbringing between her parents and her mother's sister were too great; her father was strict and abusive, while her mother was cold and demanding. Ai Hayasaka, on the other hand, fulfilled her duty as a parent the best, being the loving carer that both twins needed. That led Neon to develop Dissociative identity disorder (DID) and ‘Mizu’ appeared.

A new beginning

When Neon and Rina turned 16, they were left on their own once again. Ai Hayasaka focused on creating a new family business in Karakura and she did that for twins. At the same time, the family business in Kyoto collapsed... Neon and Rina went to live alone, already taking full responsibility for themself, and focused on school; Neon has joined the Student Council, while Rina choosed Football team.

The return of Jin Hayasaka

Suddenly, Jin Hayasaka moved to Karakura; he sold the family estate upon being forced to. Jiji Hayasaka, older sister of twins as she lost her home, moved together with Jin. Jiji refused to move together with her Aunt, so she was left there with not responsible parents.

To be continued…
