On weekends, I'm usually available all day unless I have something scheduled. The only times I am not are when I am working or doing college classes, and that's from 6:00 a.m. - 16:25 (4:25) p.m List your accounts and roles on this server: ☆ I only use one account for SRP and have no other accounts for Minecraft 1. [Grade-12] Reis Valdes : Student with a job {He is my main char} 2. [Grade-12] Jonna "Jonsey" Vorobyov 3. [Grade-12] Ruan Llewellyn Chevalier III 4. [Grade-12] Kōsuke "Umi" Kobayashi 5. [Grade-12] Kekoa k. Mahoe Are you aware that inactivity can result in removal from the council?: Yes, I am aware that inactivity can result in removal from the council, and I will ensure that I stay active in the server and in the faction to secure my spot in the Student Council. ‧₊˚♪ ₊˚⊹ TRIVIA QUESTIONS ‧₊˚♪ ₊˚⊹ ּ What is the student council, and what do they do?: The Student Council is responsible for ensuring that the student body has its voice heard, maintaining a safe environment, planning events, and representing the student body at school. Student council is important because it allows students to have a safe place to go to whenever they need it. Some students may not feel comfortable going to someone older in the faculty, so the student council is a good option because they will be more likely to understand where they are coming from. Student council is also good because they maintain the rules of the school, reminding their classmates when they are out of line so that they can straighten up and learn from their actions. ּ What motivated you to apply for the council? (e.g., Interests, friends, etc.): I was motivated to apply for council because I wanted to be involved more in the school, and for 2 separate other reasons. ⋆.˚ 1. Leadership Leadership is my number one because I take pride in being able to lead something, even when I don't have full power. It is good to be a part of something, especially when it allows me to do good for a community. I have been in many leadership responsibilities, both OOCLY and ICLY. OOCLY, I have been a manager, a leader of a real student council, and I have been involved in various clubs. By being involved in those things, I have learned how to be a leader and how you should properly talk to people. Icly I have been able to get my characters into jobs and clubs that also worked on said communication and leadership skills. I chose my character, Reis Valdes, for this because he is always positive and hard-working. Making sure to see positivity in things, and he makes sure to stay as optimistic as possible while also being level-headed and knowing when he needs to lock in and get things done. ⋆.˚ 2. Community I chose community for my number two because community is important to have for the human experience. And I like to dabble in different one's especially ones that pique my interest. Student council is one of those things that has always made me feel involved and like I belonged somewhere. I like to be creative, take part in activities, and I enjoy helping others as much as possible. Building up people is one of the top priorities on my list because having a friendly and happy environment goes a long way. I have only joined SRP this year, but I can say that I have grown attached to the community, and I have found good friends and good things about the community that I enjoy, and don't think that I would ever stop liking this community. By joining this faction, it would only boost my love for the community that is SRP, and I will continue to show my love and dedication like I have been doing while not being in a faction. ּ Are you aware that you’ll be having to use your creativity and teamwork ethic within the student council? (e.g., Coming up and helping with events): Yes, I am fully aware that I must use my creativity and teamwork ethic within the student council. It is one of the things that made me want to apply due to my wanting to be able to put my creativity somewhere while also contributing somehow to the server! ּ Can you list the roles in the council, along with other roles that might be important to the council?: ❀∽ President∽ The president is in charge of the full student council, and they are supposed to watch over to make sure everyone is doing what they need to do. They are the role model and are the ideal person you can go to. The student council president is always on top of their game, and they do their best to make sure everything runs smoothly. ❀∽ Vice President∽ The Vice President is second in command to the President, and they do what the President might not be able to get to. They are the person you would go to for smaller issues, but they are equally as important as the president. ❀∽ Council Member ∽ Council members are important to the school because they help to make sure the students are heard, and they also make sure their fellow students aren't misbehaving. They spread positivity and also encourage their classmates to be better, do better, and strive to succeed. Student council members make sure to keep a good image and be an example of how to behave. ❀∽ Students ∽ Students are the kids you see in the halls talking amongst themselves, getting to class, making their way to lunch, or maybe even skipping just because they can't be bothered. Without the students, it wouldn't really be a school. They are the backbone of the school, well, besides the faculty, which makes sure that things run smoothly. The students are the ones who represent the school, and when people think about the school, they usually think about the students. So they are important because they uphold the responsibility of making themselves and their peers look good. They are also important to the school because they are there to get an education, and they help build up each other's morale for certain events or school activities that the student council may host. Students join things like extracurricular activities, and they are what the student council bases its next moves on. ❀∽ Faculty ∽ Faculty help the club stay up and running, giving guidance to the teens who are a part of the council so that they can make correct and rational decisions. Faculty help students every day to ensure they are performing to the best of their abilities and following the correct procedures. They are also important because they regulate the rules and set a good example for how people should act. Faculty also helps things move smoothly to avoid any unneeded bumps in the road. ·༻༺· IC SECTION ༻༺· SCENARIOS ּ While students gather for a school assembly, one student behaves disruptively, causing a disturbance. How would you manage the situation to restore order effectively while minimizing any additional disruptions to the assembly? "If a student was causing a disturbance, I would try to manage the situation to restore order by going to them and talking to them one-on-one, so I don't make a big scene and so that I don't embarrass them. If that doesn't work, I will give them a nice, friendly warning, and I will tell them the consequences if they do not. ּ A student refuses to take their mask off after you’ve brought up detention and they’ve run away! What do you do? "Well, I say that is a pretty easy answer, I would go report what I saw to receptionist or any close teacher so we could try to find that person as fast as possible, to give them a proper consequence like detention. By running away, it shows that they don't want to cooperate, so the next step would be putting them in punishment since they didn't want to listen the first time, and chose to flee instead." ּ A teacher observes concerning behavior from a student, including the creation of disturbing artwork and verbal threats toward peers. How would you collaborate with the teacher to evaluate the situation and intervene appropriately to address potential safety concerns? "Hmm, that is a hard one! But I would have to say I would talk to the teacher about the student's previous actions leading up to this moment to see if there were any signs of anything that could've hinted at this being an issue beforehand. I would then try to see if we could talk to the student and have a conversation about why they did it. If they say there was no reason and they were just trying to troll or have fun, I would have a talk with them and warn them that this was something serious and they would have to take this seriously. If it happens again, detention should be offered, and another should be had because it is now not just a one-off situation. But if this does end up being a one-off and the student listens to the first warning, I think there could be a punishment, but not a serious one, only to show them that they can't do that and their actions have consequences. Then they should be watched, not too closely, but watched to make sure they don't do another thing like that again." ּ A group of students asks for your permission to stage a protest on school grounds. Would you allow them to protest? If so, how do you ensure that the protest does not disrupt the school environment while upholding their freedom of expression? "If a student asked for my permission to stage a protest on school grounds, I would not let them do a protest without talking to any faculty or anyone above me, for I have no right to do that on my own. If we got confirmation, then I would be able to let it go through, but I would make it my responsibility to make sure it doesn't go too far, and it stays only verbal, with polite and correct language." ּ A teacher/receptionist has told you that you are doing something that goes against what you were trained by your higher-ups. How would you react to this? "If a teacher/receptionist has told me that I was doing something against what I was trained, I would apologise and ask to elaborate to make sure that I don't make that mistake again. I won't fight back, and I would just agree and apologize once more with a polite nod. I don't like disrespecting people older than me, especially school staff, so I would avoid arguing against them as much as possible. I would then make sure that I take what the receptionist/teacher in and use it as a teaching moment so I don't do it again. And if it was something major, I would for sure make sure it doesn't happen again." ּ Please provide at least one detailed event that the council can use as a future event to showcase your creativity! (Must be 300 words or more for one event): ּSlam Poetry/Poetry Contestּ - Main Concept: The slam poetry/poetry contest will bring students together, and one by one, or in multiples, students can come onto the stage and recite their piece to the audience. The willing participants must turn in their poem before the deadline in order to be able to formally be in the event. Once it has been reviewed and set to be school-appropriate, students will be given their numbers to know in which order they will be going on stage. This can be Grade level vs. grade level, Spartans vs. Bobcats, OR we could have it where the crowd gets to vote which student has the best poem, OR it could just be a fun activity to show off the creativity of the students of Karakura High! This event can be heavily modified, and it can even change, leading it to be a consistent thing that happens throughout the school year. It is always good to have something the students can look forward to. It is a very simple concept that can be repeated over and over, and it is also a thing that students can do to show creativity, along with getting things off their chest. There are a lot of creative people in Karakura High, and this is one of the ways we can shine a light on those people. Slam poetry is powerful and has a clear message that it is trying to send. And it will be helpful if we have positive messages, so they can spread around and make the school environment better to be in. This event can take place after school and be a relaxing thing where the students can kick back and relax. Snacks could be sold before or during intermissions, which is a good chance for different clubs to raise money! Another way we can incorporate other clubs/organisations in our school is by getting the book or journalism club involved to co host and help organise things to work in a more organized manner. This event can also build community because people can find things they have in common, which can bring people together and form new safe spaces and friend groups. ּ STEM/Science Dayּ - Main Concept: (OOC: This will ofc be all in RP UNLESS we have them send in photos as references for what their products look like. Their projects would also have to have pre-typed descriptions before the event, so that when it comes time to judge, they will be Ready to send it!) If needed, we can have a limited number of participants. 6-10 or more, depending on the time and how limited we are. It will be a competition after all, so we need to have enough people who are passionate enough to try and win something. There will be judges who can walk around with books, writing down the name of the student they are judging, then they can write notes like pros and cons of the project, and they can say what place they think that person deserves! After viewing all participants, the judges can go talk amongst themselves and pick a winner! Students can also view their classmates' work, and the participants can explain how it works, showing them all the ins and outs. This could also go to their grade, with the judges seeing that they are passionate about what they created and they thought it through thoroughly, instead of just making something just for the sake of it. This event can take place in the afternoon or in the morning! The location can be in the gym, where we can set up tables or stalls where the participants will be able to set up their projects, ready to be displayed and judged! As a reward for getting in a certain place, we could give out ribbons or other alternative prizes, first place obviously being the best prize you can get! This event could also be good if the students had the chance to vote in a time slot, and we count the votes to see what they think! This can make students feel involved and like they had a say in who won. There are many ways we could take this, and it can definitely be very versatile and fun for everyone involved. Especially for the students who don't normally get to show off their talents. ·༻༺·Personal Information·༻༺· (in character) Name: "Hola! My name is Reis Valdes, and it is a pleasure to meetcha!" Gender: "I am a Male ♂ and go by he/him!" Age: "I am 18years of age and my birthday is coming up soon in February!" Phone number: "Oh, my phone number? Good question, one second, My apologies, I should probably know that by now!" He took his phone out of his pocket, and he quickly opened his notes app before reading out, " My number is (030) 141-5797!" ּ How would you describe your personality?: "My personality? Well, there are a few ways I can describe myself! The male would smile as he adjusted his glasses and fixed his posture straight up. He then cleared his throat before he began to speak again, "I've been told that I can be cheery, knowledgeable, level headed, a good friend especially when it comes to giving advice, and I also love meeting new people so when I get the chance my mood changes pretty fast and I want to make sure I have the best first impressions possible! I am very open to talking to others, including people, lifting people up, and so much more. I think that as long as you're nice to someone, things will eventually follow through how they are supposed to. Now, by saying all this, it doesn't mean I am just an airhead who thinks everything is amazing. That isn't true at all. I can also be stern and confident when need be. Stating my opinion is something I do often when asked about things. I try to be as nice and open as I can be in order to make the conversation friendly. But I also make sure that I prove my point with good enough reasoning and determination." ּ Appearance/attire (Please provide a picture): ✍︎ Reis Valdes is a Japanese-Mexican male who stands at a height of 6'1. He looks like a nerd, but when he takes his glasses off, and moves his hair out of the way, he has a pretty nice smi sculpted face. He has dark brown eyes and tanned, Sun-kissed skin, which he mostly got from hanging out with his best friend outside. He has curly brown hair, with light brown highlights. It goes a little over his shoulders, but it used to be much longer before he recently cut it. When he walks by, he normally leaves a sent trail of cologne that smells like flowers and ocean mist. ![]() ּ What separates you from other applicants seeking your position? "What separates me from other applicants seeking my position? Well, that is a great question, I know that I am different from the other applicants due to my devotion and my constant positivity, no matter what the situation. Others may give up if something isn't going their way, but I try to stay as persistent and as hopeful as I can be! I believe, if you give up early, then that is a lost opportunity, and it delays change that could've happened if you had kept going instead of saying things such as "this is too hard" or "I can't handle this!" There is an easy fix for most things, and my go-to is asking for help or trying my best to test multiple solutions until I find the best one to help with my issue. The male adjusted his glasses, and his demeanor changed, showing how he was beginning to speak passionately about this topic. He obviously has been waiting to talk about something like this, and he was ready to give a thorough explanation. "Change is important, and a good change is what I wish to bring to the table. Some other people may want to join for personal gain or just to have a title saying they are better or have a higher authority, but that is not what I want at all. I strive to be a role model and be someone that people can go to! Currently, some people already do that and can say I'm a trustworthy person who is here to listen to anything reasonable that they may ask. But by being in this club, I hope I can open myself up so that more people can be aware of me and know that they have a safe space to go to. Also, while being in this school, I have noticed some things that I would like to change. A lot of negative things have happened. Things such as: Bullying, stalking, general disrespect to peers and staff, and so on. These are things that have the opportunity to change, and I hope to be able to start that change. These are things that have the opportunity to change, and I hope to be able to start that change. As someone who has unfortunately dealt with these issues myself, I understand the struggle of preventing these issues despite attempts to change them, and how it can seem useless to even try. However, I believe that my determination and abilities can be the key to leading this change-even just a bit. So I feel like I can speak to the people about these issues, and I can help guide the change. I come in with a plan, which is much more than what others can say. And my goal is to achieve said plan, no matter how long it takes, as long as I have the backup and we as a whole work together. This can be achieved. Even if it's for one person, I will feel like I have achieved something." ּ Why do you want this position?: "I want this position so I can make a change in the school that makes students feel proud to go there, and not scared that if they do or say the wrong thing, they can get targeted. I am aware the school doesn't support bullying, harassment, and so forth. But it still unfortunately happens, and it needs to change sooner rather than later. If not, students will continue to have to fear what may happen to them just because they are casually walking in the halls. I've seen firsthand people who were minding their business get picked on for no reason. And sometimes it's not just verbal. It gets physical. And an ongoing problem that has also been going around like a viral trend, swirlys. I myself have gotten one, more than one, and I can say firsthand it isn't fun. My goal is to make a change to make people want to stop doing this to their classmates, and I also wish that I could empower my peers into standing up for themselves to stand up for themselves and speak out. Yes, it's not always easy to do that. But if we all work together to protect those people and help call for a real change, then these 'bullies' can be held responsible and have real responsibility. ּ What interests you the most about the student council?: "What interests me the most about the student council? Well, there are various things that drew me in and made me want to join! I have a few reasons, but I'll list my main ones in order to get to my point faster! Especially since I feel like I have made a firm stance on why I want to join already. First, I like to be a part of a community, and I like to be a leader for the people around me! I always say that if no one takes the first step, then no change will happen! I know it's similar to something I said previously, but I hope it shows you how much change really means to me. Now I'm no stickler or anything, but I do like following the rules, avoiding conflict as much as possible. So by joining the student council, I hope to help uphold said rules, by not being annoying about it. My goal is to be as inviting as possible, but also to make sure that I don't look like a pushover. I like to get things done, so if I'm not able to, then it really puts a damper on the day." ּ What could you contribute to make the school a safe and fun environment?: "How could I contribute to make the school a safe and fun environment? Wellll, there are plenty of things I can do!" The male adjusted his glasses and smiled. He then pushed his hair back as he looked to the side, thinking about what to say so that he could clearly get his message out. When he was finally done, he looked back forward. "To begin with, one of the things I would like to do is make sure that I show that I strongly disagree with bullying, harassment, and so on! I believe that no one should feel uncomfortable or uneasy in a school. It's meant to be a safe space for knowledge where you can also talk with friends and learn more about yourself. I will contribute to keeping the school safe by patrolling and making sure I don't let any suspicious things go untouched. And if I see a student who obviously needs help, I will do my best to get the situation handled." *ੈ✩‧₊˚༺☆༻*ੈ✩‧₊˚ |
