Why are Teachers so important to SchoolRP?:
Teachers in SchoolRP's are the cornerstone of helping others build their experience in an RP. Besides teaching the actual lessons intended, teachers and professors if done right, builds character's for others and provides an external way for students and people outside of the classroom to learn about RP etiquette.
As a Teacher in the RP sense, it's a vital role to expand the interest of students and to get them to come back to the RP for the experience. From interesting and interactive lessons, to an unforgettable personality, teachers are the focal pillar of schools and their environment. Teachers play a vital role in having students understand the environment of the school and how to act, how to treat others, and how to be beneficial towards others, but especially themselves in both being respectful but MOST importantly having fun!
Lastly teachers are important to schools simply for ambience, having teachers and other faculty members around whether it being working on things on their own accord, or simply roaming the halls gives schools a much needed space to fill. Having teachers and staff simply around makes schools feel less chaotic and more orderly.
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you may lose your role?: Yes
Do you agree to undergo teacher training if your application is successful?: Yes
In-Character Section
What's your character's full name?: Coda Mochiatto
What is your character's nationality?: Jamaican / Jewish
What is your preferred subject to teach?: English
Describe your character:
Standing at 5'11 with glasses, Coda is a very outward personality. He's always recognized by his Jamaican Rastafarian beanie by both staff and students alike.
With his outward personality he loves to teach English not only for not only his passions in creative writing but encourages his students to be as expressive as he is through their interests with their writing.
Whether it be sports, sciences, computers, external hobby's and more, he is very interested in every student's interest and encourages them to write about it even if it is small. He is also fairly ignorant towards personal space for he believes and tries to get to know someone best is to be personal.
What is your character's outlook on students and co-workers?:
Coda believes in the best of people and encourages students to go above and beyond in whatever they do though to be patient with others and themselves; "Failure is the best teacher". Coda is respectful but can overstep boundaries with other teachers at points because of how he views his teaching methods as the "Ideal". Though this does not damage his relationships towards other teachers and staff, he always tries to put his two sense into whatever they do with their students.
What is your character's motivation for teaching?:
Coda's motivation for teaching is primarily for students to write about their life, even the little things. His mother was diagnosed with Dementia, and passed at a very early time in his life. Though this was a sad event she was an avid writer and wrote about her life in pages, and pages worth, enough to put the Harry Potter series to shame.
This is his main motivation because he wishes for students to do the same for both themselves, and if they choose to have kids(he assumes they will). Over time with teaching though he's found that he loves to help other and the passion of simply teaching comes natural to him.
Roleplay Scenarios
A student in class is struggling to understand the content, what would your character do?:
Coda would most likely at first be ignorantly upset as to why they don't get it. He'd press them towards the subject further inevitably singling them out unintentionally but honestly wanting to help them. He'd urge them for further practice with him but if it doesn't work he'd pass the baton to a student that'd be willing to help; with the mentality of them being a fellow student, or if they have a favorite staff or teacher, asking for their assistance.
(Involving more people to build relations instead of simply trying to solve the issue as soon as possible.)
A student is continuously being disruptive in class, talking out of turn, and making jokes with classmates. What would your character do?:
Coda would have 0 tolerance for such behavior, and would abruptly ask about the joke trying to embarrass them in front of their classmates. If the following doesn't work or they play along, Coda will finish it and have them stand in front of the class for the rest of the period, directing all questions towards them. If they continue to act a fool in front of the class, he'll then send them out to principal office, correction room, or x other facility.
Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas related to your preferred subject:
