Why are Teachers so important to SchoolRP?:
Teachers add life to SchoolRP by starting classes and sometimes just patrolling the school hallways to catch any bullies. They play a key role in building a sense of community within schools, creating an environment where students feel safe and valued. Teachers are there to create a structured environment that promotes discipline and responsibility, helping students understand the importance of rules and consequences. They help students learn to cope with failures and challenges, teaching them resilience and perseverance, which are key to overcoming obstacles in life. Lets not of course forget the main focus, they are crucial when teaching the students essential knowledge and skills, helping students understand complex subjects and concepts. Aswell as serving as mentors and role models, providing guidance and support that can influence students life choices and aspirations.
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you may lose your role?: Yes

What's your character's full name?: Lily Miller
What is your character's nationality?: American [USA]
What is your preferred subject to teach?: Art
Describe your character:
Lily Miller is a 29 year old female that stands at a mere 5'8, having long, soft and well cared ginger hair. Her warm smile and shiny brown eyes are always able to peak the interest of other's around her. Lily would have a pear-shaped body and feminine appearance mixed with confidence and desire. Her attractive charm and attitude makes her stand out in a crowd. Making the people around her feel safe and comfortable. She never results to violence in any situation, unless ABSOLUTELY needed for someone's safety. She always has a smile on her face, even during hard times. One of her flaws is keeping her own problems to herself, wanting to keep the morale up and help the people around her. Especially in a professional environment, she wants to keep her cool and focus on the tasks at hand. Her attitude might change when she is with friends and people she is comfortable with. Sometimes completely forgetting maturity, constantly trying to make jokes and keep a conversation going, but that is how she copes with her own problems. That is what makes her unique. Overall she is a nice and friendly person to be around. She is someone who you can rely on during hard and stressful times, do not be afraid to ask her anything, she will always try to help and give the best advice she can. She is not a person that plans stuff very well, she usually just goes with the flow, unless talking about teaching, she plans her classes ahead of time.
What is your character's outlook on students and co-workers?:
Lily Miller loves to be around students and bond with them, wanting to create a friendly atmosphere in her classes to let everyone learn at their own pace and not be afraid to answer questions, even if they get them wrong. Even tho sometimes handing out detentions is necessary, that does not change the fact she wants to be friendly to students and other faculty that she interacts with. She loves the concept of co-workers and to be able to hangout and bond with them. She knows that working together allows for sharing ideas and skills, which can lead to more innovative solutions aswell as improved productivity and morale. She thinks that co-workers can be useful as they can provide emotional and professional support, helping each other navigate challenges and reduce stress in hard situations when needed. She wants to be the one to always give a smile to the faculty members around her. Being open to support them when they are having a hard time. Having other faculty members to talk gives the possibility to build relationships that create a sense of community, enhancing job satisfaction and overall well-being.
What is your character's motivation for teaching?:
Lily is determined to make a positive impact on the students in Karakura, she feels that as an art teacher it would be easier to achieve that by giving her students a chance to show off their creativity and skills in drawing or painting their own ideas. Positive feedback is something that Lily wants to give as much as possible to create confidence in her students. Even tutoring those that are struggling with the subject, would that be in class or after school, she is willing to help. This tutoring could include teaching them tricks and tips, giving examples and maybe even just talking to them and supporting them with their problems so they are able to perform better, not just in her class, but anywhere in the school, or outside school. She believes that encouraging them to try their best and be active in class will make them more confident in the real world. Lily has loved art since she was a young girl. Art was something in her childhood that relaxed her and cleared her mind when she was struggling. She actually enjoyed high school when she was younger, mostly because most of her teachers were nice and caring, giving her all the support and caring she needed. It was not all so easy tho, she had a few teachers that were not as nice, this affected her mental health, making her push herself a little bit too much. Sometimes even making her cry in class due to this. This started to inspire her to be a teacher herself. The idea of helping students and being able to do art together, seemed like destiny to her.
Roleplay Scenarios
A student in class is struggling to understand the content, what would your character do?:
Lily would try to reassure the student that she will help them with whatever they are struggling with. Helping people is a big part of Lily's personality, so she will not hesitate to help at all. She would use many different techniques, starting with having a quick, informal conversation with the student to gauge where they’re getting stuck. Sometimes the issue lies in foundational concepts. She knows that getting stuck in one problem can demotivate the student, affecting their ability to learn new complex content. She'd continue with breaking the content into smaller, more manageable parts, explaining each concept step-by-step before moving on, frequently pausing to ask questions and ensure comprehension before adding complexity.
A student is continuously being disruptive in class, talking out of turn, and making jokes with classmates. What would your character do?:
First of all, at the start of the course she would remind the class of the behavior expectations and why they’re essential for everyone’s learning. Clear guidelines help students understand boundaries. If a student would disrupt the class nonetheless, Lily would start with simple gestures, like making eye contact, a subtle hand signal, or moving closer to the student, this can be effective in redirecting their focus without interrupting the flow of the class. She would also acknowledge when the student is participating positively. Positive reinforcement, even a quick "Good job!" or smile, can motivate them to seek attention in constructive ways. If they continue to disrupt, she would eventually have to give them a warning, warnings give students the opportunity to reflect on their behavior, recognize when it’s disruptive or off-task, and correct it on their own. This promotes a sense of responsibility and self-regulation. If the student did not stop disrupting the class, she would have to hand out a detention slip to that student. If the detention did not work either, she would either have to give an SLT warning to the student or kick them out of class. In a worst case scenario, she would have to call the SLT to deal with the student.
Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas related to your preferred subject:
Idea 1:
She would take the class out on a field trip to the Ochiba forest. Obviously to have fun, but also make the students pick a scenery they can find in the forest, and paint or draw that scenery that the student has picked on a canvas in as much detail as possible, using any method they would like. She would also give out a reward to the person that painted the best picture, in hopes to motivate the students to put effort into the task. After the task was done, the students would be able to spend the rest of the class hanging out with their friends in the forest.
Idea 2:
She would make the students draw each other on an empty canvas. Giving everyone a random partner in the class and giving them freedom to use any method they would like, would that be using paint, pens or charcoal, or something else! After everybody finishes drawing their partner, they will hand the painting back to Lily, and she will be grading this by how detailed the painting is.
