Kaito Akiyama (海斗 秋山), was born September 15th 1998 in Kyoto, Japan. He grew up with his father, Ayane Akiyama and mother, Seojoon Akiyama. It was a big family, however somebody to note is his sister, Mikasa Akiyama. He was the closest to Mikasa due to their shared interest in many different things including their love for the Performing Arts. His aunt, Yuna Akiyama was also huge fan of the theater, which is how Mikasa and Kaito grew to love it so much. Yuna would often take them on trips to watch different performances growing up. She had always told them stories of the dreams she had when she was young. She had always aspired to be an actress. So, she had always supported and helped Kaito get roles in small amateur dramatic performances around Kyoto. However, when they were young, Kaito’s aunt had unfortunately passed due to an illness and this had left a hole in their family. Kaito was struggling in the years to come, he didn't know how to handle the grief at the time, so poured his emotion into acting. He focused on acting and hoped to continue on in this as a career to do what his aunt could never, become an actor.

School Life:Throughout his school years, Kaito was judged heavily, he was what others called a “theater kid” and would get mocked for wanting to be on stage. His teachers were not supportive of his dreams either. They would often tell him that their subjects were more important and he needed to stop dreaming and think realistically for his career. Kaito would ignore them but still found it difficult. Each time he felt upset about what was happening though, he would think back to his aunt, how brave and how supportive she was. He thought back to how proud this would make her feel and what she had always told him. Before her passing, she would often tell Kaito to "love what you do and to do what you love. You do what you want, what you love. Imagination and creativity should be the center of your life." Kaito went on to being the Theatre Club lead and performed in many notable School plays. His love for acting did not stop there however, he would often incorporate it into the other classes he attended too. His grades were pretty good throughout his School experience due to the extra effort put into them. During Grade-10, Kaito had performed a monologue from Macbeth, moving on to explain a lot of what he believed to be the meaning of the scenes. After doing this, he was rather liked by his teachers and managed to get himself a letter of recommendation for the Acting School he would soon apply for after graduating.
After School:
After leaving school, Kaito started to study performing arts at a higher level. He would join improvisation classes, be apart of amateur dramatic groups and continue working on his acting abilities. He would often keep to himself through these years, he didn’t really grow up with many friends, they came and went throughout the years. Kaito didn’t mind though, he had his sister with him, she was his best friend. To others this seemed weird, but for them it was natural, it was a bond.
Kaito knew he needed to make his aunt proud and keep working towards his dreams. He became really invested in acting and it became the only thing he would talk about with people. He later met a woman by the name of Sokuri Nakomura, who he instantly fell in love with. This woman was his life, he spent a lot of his time with her and ended up losing sight of his past goals. He wouldn't act as much anymore due to him spending every second with her. Much to his sister, Mikasa Akiyama's dismay, he moved out of Kyoto completely to live with Sokuri. He lost track of his goals along the way and got a job at an office. It wasn't the best, but he was happy with Sokuri. A few years later, Kaito had proposed to Sokuri and invited the family over to their wedding. Sokuri had decided that she wanted to keep her last name as Nakomura, so Kaito followed her lead and took her name instead of the traditional way. Kaito and Sokuri lived quite happily for some years, however he began to miss his family after moving far away, he began to think about the dreams he had given up and became a little confused on what to do next..
The Divorce:
A few months pass by, Kaito receives an update from his sister, Mikasa. She had spontaneously moved to a new place called Karakura and it seemed beautiful. He also noticed that she had gotten a new job as a Performing Arts teacher, this made Kaito feel stuck in his life, depressed, unsure of what to do. After all, she had followed her dreams of pursuing a career in the Performing Arts, Kaito, gave up on his. He lived on as the year passed by, starting to get more unhappy with where he was at in life. He did less, he wasn't as involved in the relationship and fell into a rut. This put a lot of strain onto his relationship with Sokuri. They grew further apart, each of them knowing that they were both unhappy. One night, he sat scrolling on his phone, he came across the updates Mikasa was sending him in Karakura and decided he wanted change. The next night he decided to speak to Sokuri, he told her about Karakura and how he wanted to move there, he told her that they could settle down, start a family and he could get a job. She was not as on board with this idea however, she had her own business here, this started a little bit of an argument. It ended with them deciding it might be time to get a divorce...
After filing for divorce, Kaito had made the decision to go to Karakura. He wanted a new start, he wanted to be back with his sister and to pursue his long-lost dream of Acting. This was the perfect plan, he had decided to apply for a job to work alongside Mikasa. He wanted to be the teacher that he never had, he wanted to encourage people to pursue a creative path, be there for anyone struggling like he was. He wanted to share his knowledge and inspire others to think outside of the societal norms of jobs and dare to dream. So, he took the leap forward and moved to Karakura to apply for a job at the school.
One night after returning to his apartment, he had a letter in the mail to see that he was accepted as a teacher in the Performing Arts Department! He was thrilled and ran to Mikasa with the news, they both celebrated. Kaito for the first time in a while, was happy, he had gotten the ability to pursue his career, make his aunt proud and reconnect with Mikasa after a long time of being too far apart.
After a few weeks at the school he noticed how hard it was to hear people call him, Mr Nakomura. It felt like a little bit of him was still stuck in the past... He needed to get rid of it completely, so, he decided to revert back to his family name. Once Kaito Nakomura was now known as Kaito Akiyama once again. He was ready to make his aunt proud, ready to inspire the youth of Karakura and ready to open a new chapter in his life...
Karakura High:
Kaito absolutely adored his job at this new School. He seemed to be getting along great with his fellow teachers and students. His main goal throughout this was to inspire the youth of today to take part in a creative hobby. As much as he once dreamed of being an actor, this was better, inspiring young new actors to take their dreams further. He was ready to give the students of today a chance in this career path, the chance he never believed he had from his former teachers.
School life was a pretty easy job for Kaito, he enjoyed it a lot. He became a mentor to those that needed it the most, helping those struggling with Schooling issues, whilst inspiring the rest with his classes. This commitment and enjoyment from his job led to him getting promoted rather quickly. A month after getting his job, he received a Promotion to Newly Qualified Teacher. A month later, he earned the title of Qualified Teacher, allowing him to help guide newer faculty members into their job. However, two months later in January of 2025, Kaito Akiyama was offered the position of Student Affairs on the Senior Leadership Team. This was a high honour of his, the commitment and hardwork had finally paid off. He was still quite new to this School, but settled in fast, becoming a mentor to faculty and students alike. Immediately after the promotion, he vowed to make the School a better place, vowing to put in effort to improve the art courses at Karakura High, as well as the student wellbeing.
This job turned out to be a lot more to handle than Kaito expected however, sometimes leading him to doubt himself. Kaito doubted whether he was good enough for this position, doubted whether he was truly capable of being in this position and if he could handle these issues that he faced.
Vice Principal:
Throughout his time as Vice-Principal, Kaito Akiyama brought new, fresh ideas to the School. He held a school-wide easter egg hunt for Easter. He had inplemented Locker Inspections, where he would inspect the lockers of students and reward the best looking ones. Additionally, he had helped organise the new fire drill system with his fellow SLT members, to make sure there was a safe and stable protocol of getting out the School during a fire. This would come in useful during the Boiler Room Conundrum of May 2025.. Kaito seemed to be fitting in well with the School, other than the Boiler Room incident that would happen later that year..
Kaito has had a bit of a rivalry however throughout his time as a Senior Leadership Team member. Kiyoko Akai, his higher-up and co-worker, once brought a vending machine into School and dropped it off wonkily outside of the SLT offices. Kaito had assumed this was accidental so ordered a caretaker to have it removed. After this, it started off something Kaito had never expected. Kaito's office had been turned into a fish tank, with pufferfish floating inside, his furniture had been stuck on to the roof of his office, his bobcat plushie had been slimed, and more.. Kaito retaliated by messing with Kiyoko's office, this was soon to be known as a big mistake.. Kaito had turned Kiyoko's office into a mud pit and a bee hive, holding what was once a School Bee. This ended up in Mayor Brown visiting Karakura School and threatening School Inspections to return.. Since that day, no offices have been touched. Hopefully, it will stay like that. Kaito likes to think he won.
Boiler Room Conundrum:
Unfortunately, during May 2025, Kaito was called down from his office to report to an emergency situation in the Boiler Room. Some of the School faculty had found a large can of a foul smelling source, as well as a skull placed on top of it. Kaito immediately called in for backup with his former boss and now co-worker, Robusta Heddo. They decided it was a dangerous area for the time being and blocked it off through locking the doors and placing some cones they had found outside of it. After a day, Robusta and Kaito decided it was time to call the EMS to deal with the can and skull. This was thought to be a great idea, until Naomi Inoue, EMS Chief Paramedic decided to light a flame near the can.. This would go onto a fire outbreak in the School boiler room. Luckily, with the new fire drill, everybody was evacuated safely and the fire had been stopped by available KPD members. This was not the end. Due to much dismay of Kaito, his week was about to get worse when he decided to hold a detention task in the Boiler room to have it cleaned up from the late fire. This led to multiple students inhaling toxic fumes and having to be sent off to the Hospital. Kaito decided it was time to block off the boiler room until it was a stable environment again. The carbon monoxide levels had reached a high of 149! However, this was not about to stop Kaito from fixing the mistakes he had made of calling in EMS.. He had one of his employee's Joseph Riggs, open the windows and attempt to clean up the mess safely. This led to the boiler room being cleaned, safely returned back to normal and improved! So- if we think about it, Kaito did the School a favour by nearly exploding it and putting thousands of lives at risk. How great of a guy.
Present Time:
Kaito is luckily still Vice-Principal of Karakura-High to this day! Even after nearly exploding the School and putting a few lives at risk. He works hard at bringing events forward for students and faculty, as well as new changes and improvements for the school. He deals with the delinquents of Karakura High and hopes to one day, bring even more enthusiasm to the School for the Performing Arts and to carry his love for acting along with him. Kaito Akiyama, some would say, a hero.
Family & Friends & Enemies:
Mikasa Akiyama
Mikasa Akiyama is Kaito's sister that he grew up with. He is the closest with his sister as they shared the same joy for Performing Arts. Mikasa introduced Kaito to Karakura, the School and teaching. As Head of Department of Performing Arts, Kaito was guided through his teaching experience and learned quite a lot in a short amount of time from his sister.
Anko Akiyama
Anko Akiyama is Kaito's cousin who works up at the Shrine. Often offering Green Tea to Kaito, his favourite beverage of all time. He rather likes spending weekends up at the Shrine, catching up with Anko and Mikasa over a green tea. She also calls him way too much. Close to being blocked by Kaito.
Charlotte O'Sullivan
Charlotte, a former worker of Shrine, also gave Kaito a lot of green tea. Charlotte is good.
Abuella Yamatasha
A nemesis of Kaito's. Ever since Abuella's first day, she had been out to get Kaito and only Kaito. He wasn't particularly sure why, but her wanting his position, might be the jist of it. Kaito had once made Abuella crash out in the Gymnasium after she had found he made her bald. She threw multiple chairs. This is an enemy.
Robusta Heddo
Mr Heddo was the man who hired Kaito Akiyama into the teaching position he had loved more than anything in the world. After giving Kaito a lovely Christmas Tree with a note attached to it in his classroom, Kaito deemed them to be best friends. He often goes to Robusta if he has no idea what to do, such as the Boiler Room Connundrum.
Sora Mori
Sora, Kaito's former boss scared Kaito a lot, still does. She had trained Kaito into the faculty member we know and love. She is considered a great friend of Kaito's. He respects her a lot and she still scares him to this day!
Shin Zeneki Akiyama
Kaito had adopted Shin early into his teaching career at Karakura High. Shin was his pride and joy, star student, great grades, and had a lot of common sense. Kaito likes to believe that he had brought him up this way. He is extremely proud of the man he is becoming, he boasts often about his son being on the Basketball team.
Sayuri Akiyama
Kaito adopted Sayuri. She is a menace.
Kiyoko Akai
Kaito's rivalry. Often seen destroying or trashing each others offices.
Kekoa Anakoni
Kaito's other nemesis. Once making Kaito sit down with a hard hat and high-visibility jacket all night to be a "temporary cone" to ward away students from a broken glass situation.. He is often seen yelling "Shut up Kaito".
Se-jin Minori
Kaito was scared of her when she had become a caretaker. Now she is the head of department of nurses. Kaito would like to think they are good friends, however she still scares him quite a lot.
Patricia Karen Masuo
The worst student at Karakura High. Often seen coming up to Kaito and shouting his name, a good example of exactly how Kaito feels everytime it happens can be seen here..
