It’s Wednesday, guys!
Two days ago, on the 6th of December - a random, and I mean VERY random ice skating competition was set up at the waterpark. A group of three designated judges, all from the community college and highschool by the looks of it, came together to host the competition for all members of the public.
The competition occurred after school hours, in the rented out waterpark just before the beach. The ice had frozen over, and was deemed safe enough to be used as a skating rink just as it had been the year prior. A small fenced portion of the larger pool was the area of competition, and a few minor decorations were placed around the vicinity.
It was fairly simple, with no distinct ruling system given by the judges other than to do their best - so it seemed like professional skating restrictions were not in play, and creative control was definitely given. Their only restriction, it seemed, was a fair time limit. Soon gaining popularity, the competition required a line cut-off, limiting how many people were allowed to perform.
At the end of it all, the grand prize was given to skater Haruka Houki, who had demonstrated excellent enthusiasm and skating skills - being rated 8,7 and 8 by the three designated judges.
Keep your eyes peeled for more events of the sort this winter!
