In the modern age of technology, fashion trends move faster than ever before, meaning the fashion trends of this winter are the most up-to-date, latest fashion possible. While the days of giant, fluffy coats may be behind us (for now!) Several important trends from years past are returning for this year’s winter.
Street Interview
For the sake of gathering appropriate, true, and realistic data, I took off into the streets to interview citizens of Karakura on what they think are the biggest trends of this winter.
Monochrome
Monochrome outfits have especially taken off recently. The classic black and white pairing is a timeless look that never necessarily goes out of style, but interest has seemingly increased. White collars paired with black pullovers, black overalls over white undershirts, and checkers everywhere have experienced unprecedented growth in popularity.
Red
Red, a colour of passion, love, and Taylor Swift’s fourth album, has become a striking symbol of this winter. In contrast to the classiness of monochromatica, the loudness of red serves as a perfect reaction to the trend. Red pullovers and pants, especially, have become increasingly common in Karakura street – and professional – fashion.
Emo/Scene Revival
The emo and scene looks of the late 90s and early 2000s are continuing their upward trend, one that began several years ago. Absurdly bright hairstyles, studded belts, and black graphic tee shirts have become staples in the closets of many of Karakura’s youth.
Y2K
The final trend for this winter is Y2K, where children, who were hardly alive for the early 2000s, have decided to borrow trends (or their idea of trends) from the early 2000s. Vibrant colours, rhinestones, tiny shirts, and form-fitting jackets are seeing a continued rise as we continue to work through winter.
