Backstory:
Eloise Rosenberg was born to an Italian mother and German father in Rome, Italy. She has an older brother named Marcus who was born only two years prior. Her father met their mother in Italy while on a business trip to Florence. The two fell in love and settled in Rome for a few years. However, soon after the youngest was born, they decided to move to New York. At a young age, Eloise spoke Italian to her mother and beloved nonna while Walter taught her English and some German. Growing up in New York City, due to her eye, she wore an eyepatch to school. She wanted to avoid others from judging her too harshly. However, it was only a matter of time before it spread across the school like wildfire. She got harassed for looking different and would fight with other students, often physically, not being able to control her anger and stepping over the line. Because of this, Marcus taught her how to have thick skin. She was taught at a young age to be tough. Marcus wasn't the greatest big brother, but he taught her everything he knew. He taught her how to control her anger, and how to kickbox to release it. She began kickboxing when she was only nine years old, and fell in love with it ever since.
Even though she had Marcus and her younger siblings by her side, her parents struggled with their jobs in the city. They often overworked and came home very late at night, and would be gone in the mornings. She doesn't blame her parents entirely, but she does deal with issues involving neglect. When people asked her about her family life, she always told white lies about how they always sat at the dinner table together each day...even though it was really
once a month.
Before Eloise started middle school, her father mentioned how he needed to visit Japan for work. At first, it was meant to be a temporary trip for a month or so, but Eloise and Marcus begged to come with him. As much as Eloise loved New York, she knew they needed a break from the hectic city life, especially with how stressed her mother and father were.
To prepare for the trip, Eloise and the rest of the Rosenbergs took classes on the weekends, attempting to learn Japanese. They were far from fluent but learned enough to have basic conversations. When they finally moved to Japan, they arrived in Karakura, where Eloise and her brother attended school and improved their
language skills drastically.
Everything was new and exciting. It really felt like they had started a new chapter...
...but this all came to a sudden end when their father passed away from a heart attack.
Left with only her mother and siblings, Eloise is determined to make them and her father proud, being the best version of herself she can possibly be. She hopes to befriend those who can lift her up, as well as those she can lift up; A loyalty she will treasure most dearly.
