Describe your activity on the server:
I've been playing on SRP for almost 6 years now, I first joined in 2019, I used to roleplay on High School themed Hypixel housings, that was until I found out about this server and it really struck a chord within me, since I noticed it had so many features and mechanics that were simply missing in any other server I've been in before, so ever since then I tried to fit in and learn more and more about it. The first months were quite something, to say the least, since I never read the whole rules thoroughly at the time, I invented some stuff that could've been considered stupid or straight up not allowed by the rules (like ItemRPing weapons or making up a whole character that was possessed, silly 13 year old me) or committed some FailRPing because I had no idea what it meant back then, looking back at it it was kinda funny, and it was my first and only ban. I'm not sure which between 2020 or 2021 was my most active years, but to be sure I'll just say the pandemic years were my most active, I remember I used to play even during online classes since there was mostly nothing else to do and I was glued to my pc all day, I managed to make some friends, with the server taking some sort of role as my second life if you will, since real life was mostly limited to sitting on my pc due to the lockdowns and what not. While real life was starting to take a toll on my mental health, this server became my personal source of escapism, and it really worked for a good while in the sense that it managed to make my routine better while the outbreak lasted. 2022 was the year I started becoming less active because the lockdowns were finally over, and I gradually managed to find my place back into a regular life, balancing out real life and the time I spent on the server, but I was still active and sometimes I just stayed up a long time so I could never miss the lore I managed to build with my character in those couple of months if not years. 2023 was my least active year since I got into a relationship and whole lot of things that made me lose track of my character, plus the friends I used to play with mostly quit or didn't talk to me at the time so I didn't have much of a reason to log on that much, but that changed after I created Akira and built up some lore with a couple people I knew at the moment, lore that lasted until the summer of 2024. Maybe my second most active period was when I was accepted into KPD, and ever since then I've been really active, wanting to learn more and more about this role and enjoying every moment of playing as an officer, sure it had some ups and downs but it was still really fun, and the more i stuck around, the more experience I managed to gain, I also found the community to be really nice and full of nice people who were fun to be around and were up to help me out whenever I needed or had the chance, it was hard to resign when I did so, however I felt like it was a decision I had to make because I was struggling with my mental health, and I needed some time for myself. At this time I'm still semi-active but with not that much to do, I still managed to keep building up some lore for Akira, however at the moment I waited for the opportunity to apply for KPD again since I miss it dearly.
What is your motivation for applying?:
About a year ago I would've said I wanted to join the KPD because It's the only faction I'm interested in and the only one I would've found interesting playing in, looking for a good time to be had and interesting situations for my character to be put in as a police officer (a motivation I went more in detail with in my previous applications), well, while my opinion on the matter certainly didn't change, and I still think that to a certain degree, at the moment my motivation is also mixed with a sense of nostalgia, since I really enjoyed being in the faction, I miss the people I played with, the tasks, the activities, the scenarios, yes even the wild ones with annoying suspects (I found those really fun), the events and so on, it was impossible to get bored at times (Well apart from when you were the only officer on but those are minor details), and while I the more I was on the more experienced I became, I feel like since it was my first time and sometimes I was confused on what to do, I made way too many errors and I would like to have a second chance to get better and do it all over again.
What knowledge do you have of Police Work?
I have insider knowledge of how the KPD operates, having been in the faction for a good while, I'm a bit rusty since it's been some time but I'll make sure to share all the important knowledge I gained while being in the faction. There are about 25+ officers and 11 ranks , 5 per division except for the commissioner, which should count as the top rank for both, these two divisions specialize in 2 different fields : There's the Main Division and the Detective Division. The Main Division performs general law enforcement duties, like emergency-response, patrols, apartment raids, reports, overseeing CCTV and addressing general concerns from worried citizens at the front desk. The Detective Division may also perform general law enforcement duties as well as more specialized ones, which require more technical knowledge and dedicated training to master : These duties are interrogations, surveillance logs, stakeouts and forensics. The Hierarchies for each division look like this :

Equipment
Baton : A standard-issue close range defense tool used by officers in situations where tasers would be too risky to use or wouldn't work. (Super close range where the risk of friendly fire would be too high, Sewers) It can KO a target with 2 hits to the head, it's range being 2 blocks.NotAnto_

The Hierarchies for each division look like this :

Equipment
Handcuffs : A standard-issue pair of steel handcuffs concealed by officers in their tool belts, used to restrain the target's hands and make sure they don't move while the officer performs a detainment or an arrest, they have an effective range of one block and cannot be mugged.
Radio : A waterproof communication device, issued to emergency workers and consequently to all officers as well, it can't be mugged but it can be destroyed with hits from a blunt or a sharp object.
Stun Blaster : A standard-issue stun device used by officers to stop or prevent a target from moving, most of the time used to catch an evading suspect. It requires an action and a roll to be taken out in range, a hit from the stun blaster causes the target to get stunned for 60 seconds, allowing the officers time to restrain the suspect. It's got an effective range of 8 blocks and it cannot be mugged.
Breathalyzer : A standard-issue device used by officers and EMS workers to check how drunk a person is, it cannot be mugged and it's accuracy depends on how close to the police station the device is.
Pepper Spray : A standard-issue 3-time use self defense tool, used by officers to temporarily blind a target, mostly used against wild animals like bears, it requires an action and a successful roll to be taken out in range and a successful hit to blind the target for 60 seconds, granting officers time to react.
Tranquilizer : A plastic self defense device issued to officers with the rank of Sergeant and above, it resembles the shape of a rifle, though a non-lethal one. It can shoot out darts up to a range of 30 blocks and, if the hit is successful, knock out the target for 2 minutes, it doesn't require a roll, however it requires an action to reload when in range. It cannot be mugged.
Riot Shield : A standard-issue tempered glass shield used by officers for protection, it can be used in 2 ways : Defensively and Offensively. When used Defensively, the officer will only be able to hold the shield out in front of him to parry incoming attacks from the front or the side, and to push a hypothetical target out of range. When using it Offensively, the shield won't be able to offer any type of protection, only allowing the officer to utilize other defense tools in their main hand, like a baton or a taser. It requires an action and a successful roll to be take nout and swapped from hand to hand in range, can only be mugged if the officer is knocked out.
Gas Mask : A standard-issue gas mask, used to protect the officer from biological hazards or to protect their identity in risky situations. It offers protection against the effects of pepper spray and can be mugged with proper mug permissions.
Crowbar : A standard-issue steel tool used to pry doors and containers during apartment raids or other types of emergency situations, it can be stolen with an action and a successful roll with proper mug permissions.
Luminol Spray (ItemRP) : A standard-issue spray can which contains a substance used to identify bloods on surfaces, mainly on weapons that are found on suspects, it can be stolen with a roll and mug permissions.
Disposable Latex Gloves (ItemRP) : A standard-issue pair of gloves worn by all officers as a part of their uniform, they're useful for collecting evidence and not tamper with eventual tracks on it.
Fingerprint Scanner (ItemRP) : Standard-issue for all officers regardless of their division, although it's mostly used by the Detective Division to scan a suspect's fingerprints and see if a sample has matched the target's results.
First-Aid Kit (ItemRP) : A standard-issue small sized kit used when the subject is in need of urgent care and EMS isn't available, it adds 5 minutes to the bleed-out timer.
Bodycam (ItemRP) : A constantly recording and live-streaming waterproof camera, it's attached to the front of every officer's uniform, it can't be removed but can be destroyed with the use of a weapon, 2 hits with a blunt object or 1 stab hit. The device has the same properties as CCTV across the city and can view anything from the officer's POV.
Why is Police important to SchoolRP?
The KPD holds an important role in ensuring Karakurian citizens safety, it manages to maintain order in a city that sometimes feels like a GTA Online lobby, unstable and always on the edge, like something might happen anytime, even if it looks calm. previous events have shown how important the KPD's role is in maintaining law and order, a great example was when there was an organized prison break and an adiacent robbery at the news station that damaged the city's infrastructure when there was supposed to be a trial (those who were there might remember this), the only elements keeping the city from falling into chaos were the KPD's brave officers who went on the frontlines to respond to these scattered emergencies and reassure the population. On a more OOC aspect, I still think the faction's presence and the way it's ranks, duties and equipment were properly researched contributes to adding yet another layer of immersion to the server, making it's fictional society feel more organic, like a proper city.

Describe your character; how they look, what makes them unique?
Akira stands tall at an imposing 6'3" of height, his muscular build contributing to his intimidating presence. Messy black hair would be falling from his head, framing a V-shaped jawed face, partially obscuring his ocean blue eyes that stare deep into nothingness. The intense gaze coming from his eyes speak volumes of what he went through and the trauma he processed. Perhaps his more standing out feature would be the scar on his abdomen, stretching from a side of his abdomen to the other.
How does your character act in a professional/casual situation?
Professionally, Akira's capable of performing given tasks methodically and efficiently, preferring plans that have the best outcome with the least waste of resources/energy, with backup plans and other alternatives in case the main plan doesn't go the right way, a Machiavellian way of thinking if you will. It's important to note that, due to his experience in the military, he has a very well rooted set of ideals, behaviors and experience learned in that field. One thing in particular to keep track of is his respect for higher-ups and authority figures and/or people with more experience than him. He does follow orders, but not blindly, he has enough critical thinking to know when a plan would be too inefficient to risk his and his comrades' lives over it, and if he was given a "bad" order he would certainly question it and try to change the higher-up's ideas at first, acting upon that order if changing said higher-up's idea wasn't possible. He can communicate in a short yet clear way, making sure his words are easily understood and can perform well under stress since he's a good quick thinker, and this plays a very prominent role in more delicate situations where quick thinking is required in order to ensure safety. Normally, Akira's a calm, friendly and sociable person, his calmness might get him mistaken for a person who'd much rather prefer to be left alone, but that's far from the case. Akira's more than willing to have short conversations as well as deep philosophical ones, it really just depends on who's talking to and who he feels a genuine connection with, he's an empathetic person and likes to radiate respect even if he's not given any in return, although if his limits are tested that could be proved wrong, but it's a rare phenomena. He's a great listener and likes to treat everyone with respect, always up to spread positivity around whenever possible.
What is their outlook on the idea of co-workers & teamwork?
Akira's idea on co-workers and teamwork in particular is overwhelmingly positive, one might think it only stems from the fact he was in the military, however this type of outlook existed way before he enlisted since he was in the basketball team during his high school years. He knows cooperation always brings out the best outcomes and, while slightly harder to organize, he sees it as crucial for success. For him, to establish a good bond with teammates, trust is needed, loads of it, and that's something he would lend completely to his co-workers/teammates, expecting the same amount of trust and respect towards him, even if it looked like it couldn't be possible, he would try to fix any type of issue within his own team so that no one could exploit a fracture in the team against them, there's no cooperation without mutual trust and respect.
What's your character's backstory?
Early Life (0 - 12)
Akira was born and raised in Ashika, a small, rural town near Kyoto in Japan. A town surrounded by hills, forests, and the kinds of rural landscape that felt like it was straight out of a story book. He was the middle child of three : Hiroshi being the older brother, he was a teenager, Akira and then the youngest of the three, Momoka. Life wasn't as easy as it wanted to seem, his dad left when his younger sister was born, leaving his mother to raise him and his siblings alone. Akira always felt a special bond with her, ever since she came into the world, seeing her fragile little figure and her deep blue eyes, he swore to himself he would protect her no matter what. His early life had some illusion of normality, spending a lot of time playing together with his sister and in the fields, catching fireflies and exploring the woods near their house, the two were always together, and Akira loved those moments, it was like the calm before the storm.
Adolescence (13 - 18)
As he grew older, Akira started to notice how hard his mom worked to keep the family afloat, taking on multiple jobs, always tired and alienated from all that work, but she never complained. He admired her strength, but deep down he also felt a sense of guilt, and it only grew stronger during his last years in high school. By that time he joined the basketball team, and he was quite good at it too, some even daring to call him the best sharpshooter in school, however, he hated that because of their hard life, his mom couldn't be there to see him playing, even questioning if he should be even doing sports in the first place instead of working part time jobs. This whole situation brought him to a promise, a promise that would make up his whole life goal for a long time until his mid 20s ; To ease his mother's burden and support his family in any way, no matter what. When Momoka too showed interest in sports, Akira decided to quit basketball so he could be present at every single competition his sister was in, cheering her on from the sidelines, making sure she could have all the support he couldn't have.
During his senior year of high school, one day in particular, recruiters from the Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF or Japanese Navy if you will) visited his school, it was a clear stunt to convince more younglings to join the force and be cattle for the Japanese Government, however, their speeches about discipline and honor, and the chance to serve his country while gaining skills and stability kept Akira hooked, and like a fish, he fell for it. This whole ordeal sounded like a way out of his family's struggle, a way to finally help out like he always wished to all these years and, who knows? Maybe he'd make a name for himself as a Marine, Marines are well respected after all. He signed up, despite his mom and sister's tearful protests, calling him crazy and impulsive for doing such a thing, but Akira was calm, he had no idea about what he would face in a few years, and reassured them, promising he'd be safe and that he'd come home to take care of them.
Military Life (18 - 21)
Military life was a shock at first, it was tough and had terrible rhythms, but Akira still managed to pull through. With enough time to understand basic training and what was taught to him between his Instructor's yells, his talent managed to shine through even in that rough environment. He was good at marksmanship and tactics, something that gained him respect among his peers, with higher-ups noticing his skills and expertise. After his graduation ceremony, an event in which he finally saw his family again after 3 months of intensive training, where his mother cried like a fountain while Momoka could't stop smiling at him, he was stationed at Iwo Jima, a joint US-Japan Naval Base with an Airfield. There wasn't much to do in Iwo Jima, and to be fair he found that boring since all he did was guard facilities and whatnot, the only thing that entertained him in his free time was arm wrestling matches with US Marines and other kinds of hobbies only really bored soldiers would enjoy, however one thing was for sure, the bonds and camaraderie he forged while he wore that uniform would be ingrained inside him forever. Another event that kept him entertained during those months were joint exercises and war games, situations in which he could finally show his skills and expertise, and they did infact not go unnoticed. The Unit Commander noticed what kind of soldier Akira was, how good of a marksman he was, how quick he was at formulating strategies and problem solving, and how calm he could act under pressure, and so after about 8 months from his enlistment, he was promoted to Specialist. He always made sure to keep in touch with his family, calling them every day and mailing them a part of his paycheck in cash every month so they could manage things better at home, those calls were his favorite part of the day, with each month passing he could see his mother finally doing better and with more free time to spend with Momo, he could finally see her smiling again. Momo always told him about her gymnastics meets, she was really passionate about it, and his mother always updated him on how things were going back home, those calls were what kept him going, even during the toughest days.
But then, one faithful day, the news about Kazanami Island started breaking. Kazanami was a remote island in the Pacific, near Russia, it had always been a really contested region and a point of tension between Japan and Russia for years, with 38% of the population being ethnic russians and without any autonomy given to the region, with constant protests from the russian population, and the Japanese Government completely ignoring the issue for years, there was bound to be a conflict sooner or later. Russian separatists seized the island's capital, Kamigorod, and began expanding westward, this escalated the situation into all out war. The UN intervened and established a safe zone, while Japan was forced to send troops to respond to the attack.
While all this was happening, Akira followed the news closely, his stomach sinking as the situation got worse, knowing fully well his unit could be sent there, and the thought truly terrified him. Like everyone, he wasn't ready for war, and when the orders came, Akira felt a sense of dread but, after all he had to do this. He called his family one last time before deployment, trying to sound brave, reassuring them he would surely be back and that he'd be okay, but deep down, he was terrified and unsure if it would turn out to be true. His mom and Momoka BEGGED him not to go, but there was nothing they could do, he was condemned to answer the call.
Deployment (20 - 21)
No amount of training could've prepared him to face what he saw on the island. It's natural beauty was ruined by the chaos of war, sandbags, barbed wire, constant gunshots in the distance, explosions and the constant buzz of helicopters filling the once peaceful shores of such a prosperous island, war truly is hell after all. Akira's unit was thrown into brutal urban combat, pinned down by insurgents from every direction in a nightmarish battlefield. While in this hellish situation, his ears rang as the recruiter's speeches on honor and duty echoed in his head, making him feel disoriented, was there any glory in all of this? Just a few days in the island got him the answer he was looking for, no. There's no glory in war, just survival, just like in the jungle.
"We are as in autumn on branches the leaves" - Giuseppe Ungaretti, from "Soldati"
The first time he saw a comrade die, right in front of him, it shocked him to his core, as tough as he thought he could be, nothing can prepare you to experience death this close to you. The man's lifeless eyes haunted him, and they still do to this day, he couldn't stop thinking about the families these soldiers left behind, even the insurgents'. Maybe in another life they could've been friends, they wouldn't have needed to fight for something as futile as a small piece of land in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
His introspection was interrupted when his unit was ambushed all of a sudden, his Staff Sergeant killed right before his eyes. This made him realize he had to step up, and so he used his quick thinking to lead his unit through the chaos, infiltrating an enemy stronghold and neutralizing the threat, but this was taking a heavy toll on his psyche. He lost comrades and took lives, he could've never imagined doing such a thing just a few years before, the faces of the men he killed followed him, staring accusingly, their stares burning deep into his soul, unable to shake off the thought they might have had families waiting for them at home, just like his own.
The final blow came during a routine reconnaissance mission, Akira's unit was caught in yet another ambush, really common considering the guerrilla tactics the insurgents had been using the start of the conflict, however this one was different, it was much more well coordinated way more lethal, because the insurgents managed to get their hands on medium range artillery. While trying to fall back to friendly lines, an artillery barrage hit his position, the explosion broke his legs and sent shrapnel into his abdomen, lucky to be alive, he somehow managed to drag himself back to safety before the adrenaline wore off and he passed out.
Aftermath (21 - 28)
When he woke up in the hospital, Momoka nad his mom were by his side, seeing them cry for him broke something inside him, and so he made a difficult decision, to cut the career he could've had in the military for his own safety and his family's sake, he didn't want to abandon his family to their fate, nor make them grieve for him, and so he resigned, honorably discharging from the military.
After leaving the military, Akira moved with his sister to Karakura, another small japanese city in the pacific, where he started university and took on part-time jobs to keep themselves afloat, as well as sending some to his mother. Eventually, he joined the Karakura Police Department, finally finding a sense of purpose in policing that pretty yet really chaotic town, and while he kept going with his new career, life for him seemed to be looking up. He got engaged with his future wife Ocèane, after a couple months she would end up pregnant and expecting twin girls. Akira was really happy with the news and couldn't wait to be a father, he would constantly talk about it to his colleagues at work and it looked like he could've finally left all that tragedy and trauma in the past for once and move on. But tragedy struck when Ocèane suffered a heart attack one day, after giving birth to their beautiful twins, the doctors did everything they could to save her life, however, Akira didn't know and still doesn't know to this day, that Ocèane had signed a DNR and so they couldn't legally save her life. Ocèane's death was devastating for him, it made him fall into a downward spiral of grief and depression mixed with PTSD, hell was real, and it was all in his mind. He had to face another difficult decision after messing something up in an important situation while doing his job, that choice was either keep doing his job but doing it terribly due to his psychological state, or resign and take care of himself to not be a danger to him and other people. His choice was to resign, but to this day he still believes he made the right call.
A terrible period followed, where he had terrible night terrors, undescribable horrors he never thought he could've ever imagined, he drowned all that in alcohol and didn't take his meds, believing they were ineffective against his case and he was doomed after all. A wake-up call from his sister snapped him out of his downward spirals, she had to remind him he had daughters, and they needed him, he couldn't let his pain consume him, nor could he make his daughters suffer because of it. And so, Akira started seeing a the******, the the****** did a great job at rehabilitating him, from his past traumas to the relationship with his family and his daughters in particular, finally going back to taking his medication and managing his PTSD. Slowly but surely, he began to heal, finding joy in trying to be the best father he could and rebuilding his life from scratch, however, he'd still need money to achieve that, and the savings he managed to build up in his bank account from his job as a police officer were starting to drain, so he needed to find a solution quickly.
Recently, an old colleague from the KPD reached out to him, asking if he'd ever consider rejoining, Akira wasn't sure at first but after careful consideration he realized working as a police officer gave him a sense of purpose and made him feel realized, it was his Ikigai if you will. And so, he's now applying another time in hopes he could rejoin the KPD and regain his Ikigai.

General knowledge
Can you legally own a pocket knife in Karakura?
"You may not own and/or carry a pocket knife in Karakura. If a pocket knife was found on you upon searching, you'd be arrested and charged with possession of illegal weaponry, a felony punished with a 3 month sentence and a fine of 150k yen. It could turn into a more severe charge if the officers searching you had also found traces of blood on the pocket knife, it could turn into a charge of assault with a deadly weapon or worse. Also, you'd have a felonious criminal record, which means that if, for example, an officer searched you again and found you carrying other potential weapons like a metal baseball bat and a ballistic mask, those items would be confiscated and incinerated, and you'd have to pay a fine as well."
Name 5 medical items that do NOT require a prescription
"There are a few medical items which do not require a prescription, mostly for first aid and basic medication, these items are Iron Supplements, used for people with iron deficiency, Cough Syrup, used for colds and coughing, Melatonin, used for people who have sleep problems, Paracetamol, used for temporary pain relief, and Multivitamins, different types of vitamins to treat vitamin deficiencies."
If you see your co-workers physically abusing an inmate, what should you do?
"Keep my nerves in check, make sure my body-cam is fully working and do my best to de-escalate the situation, making sure the visual from my bodycam is clear at all times to capture every single frame that would help making a potential investigation for misconduct much easier as well as shielding the inmate from any potential incoming attacks coming from my co-worker. I'd do my best to talk my colleague out of this situation and, if necessary, use a moderate amount of force to successfully restrain and immobilize my colleague and prevent further harm to the inmate. Once the situation settles down and, after making sure that the inmate is safe, and the aggressive co-worker isn't around anymore, I'd use my standard-issue medkit to apply first aid and treat the inmate's wounds, calling EMS and taking them to the infirmary if necessary. Once the situation's over, I'd ask my co-workers to prevent the aggressive colleague from getting close to the inmate while they recover, then I'd contact a higher-up, letting them know about the incident and sending them all the evidence caught by my bodycam to their email. Once the higher-up takes action and/or if there'd be an investigation, I'd be there to give my testimony and all the evidence I got."
What should you do if you see your co-worker being assaulted?
"Radio for backup and intervene immediately, while also keeping my priorities straight : Officer's safety, victim's and suspect's. Using the taser would be too risky due to the close range, and using it could probably cause a friendly fire incident and do more harm than good, therefore I'd extract the baton from my tool belt. While the suspect's busy managing my colleague, I'd get behind them, signaling my colleague to keep going and strike harder than they ever could, then I would strike with a swift hit to the head with my baton, the suspect could try turning around but doing so would result in nothing since my colleague's on the other side and ready to counterattack, and so assuming they could not turn around, i'd strike a second time, knocking them out cold. After the suspect's knocked out, I'd drag them to the nearest wall to pat them down and arrest them before they can wake up and try to attempt fleeing, making sure my colleague's close to me while arresting them. Assuming backup has arrived, I'd tell them to control the potential crowd that could've formed in the area while i check my colleague's injuries and bring them to EMS."
What do you do if you find out that your co-worker is corrupt and is helping criminal organizations?
"The first priority would be to keep the secret and gather as much evidence as possible to incriminate them and also make sure it's as crystal clear as possible, in order to speed up the process and get rid of this very dangerous situation as soon as possible. I'd have to be careful and discreet to make sure i'm not exposed and, possibly investigate on my own, since I could never know if it is just that co-worker being corrupt, or possibly someone else in the force as well. I'd keep tracks of my colleague's tracks, movements and behaviors, making sure to document whenever they acted suspicious, or take photos and other types of testimony if they met with a known criminal. Once I have sufficient evidence, I'd report the issue to a higher-up, providing them with all the information and evidence I've collected, cooperate whenever necessary and make sure to help any way I can in case of an investiagation."
How would you react to a criminal trying to bribe you?
"Refuse the bribe, warning them that if they kept going, they'd be fined. If the person insisted and kept attempting to bribe me, I'd fine them 25k for bribery.
