Describe your activity on the server:
To start, I’d like to state that I have been on a bit of a break from SRP for a while but to contrast that, my playtime has been getting better and I have been more active lately and I plan to keep it that way. My playtime on Srp is estimated to be 672 which would be 4 weeks. In that time I managed to graduate my character out of high school to college with both their Bachelor’s and Master's Degrees without fail. During all of that time, there were several instances that I thought of applying for an Ems position and hadn’t built up the courage to do so up until now, and I have my friends to thank for the encouragement and confidence that they gave me to do so.

What is your timezone?:
I reside in the Cayman Islands and my time zone is (GMT-5/Standard Eastern Time)

What experiences do you have with roleplay?:

My roleplay experience started in 2016 and since then my love for roleplay has grown even more than before. I have had various experiences with roleplay on many different platforms one of those platforms being Roblox. Roleplaying has always come so easily for me to the point where I have even created my own roleplays/stories and I have even written my own characters. I have played SRP for about a year and a half now and so far I have enjoyed the experiences that I have had on this platform, I intend on learning more and expanding my creativity with others and I know that I can do that through roleplay and through meeting new friends online on SRP.

What is your motivation for applying?

My biggest motivations are that OOcly I am studying to become an actual psychiatrist and where I live there are a lot of younger children who have mental health conditions and I want to see fit to help the people on my islands when I am older.
My other motive is hoping that joining the ems faction will give me a chance to enhance and practice my detail roleplay overall.
It adds to my motive because not only will I be trying something new for the first time I will also be around others from different factions and this will give me the chance to become more confident within myself when it comes to detail role-playing.

Which role are you applying for?
(Doctor or Psychiatrist):

Psychiatrist

What knowledge do you have of Hospital Work?

(Ooc experience)

I have good knowledge of hospital work the reason being so is that several relatives of mine work in the hospital field. Following up on my common knowledge of hospital work is that about two months ago my school sent the senior kids out on work experience for one week. My work experience took place in the hospital where I learnt a lot of things. Without any doubt, I know that I have a good understanding of what goes on in a hospital environment.

(OOC experience^)

Hospital director -The role of hospital director is the highest form of administrative power throughout the hospital, A hospital director is responsible for supervising the daily operations that take place in the hospital. The hospital director has to ensure that all staff members are performing their jobs effectively and up to standard; patients are being attended to and receiving medical care at all times. The hospital director supervises all roles throughout the entire hospital for example: Clinical Manager, Seniors, Doctors, Psychiatrists, Paramedics and Attendants.

The responsibilities of a hospital director would consist of the following;

Initiating partnerships with other healthcare organisations.

Hiring, firing and training the hospital staff members.

Marking the hospital applications(with the additional help of other higher-ups).

Setting an example for the rest of the hospital staff members.

The hospital director has the highest authority in the hierarchy.

To oversee patient care and the quality of the care and improve it if needed

They set goals for the hospital.

Clinical Lead - Clinical Lead members are the supervisors for the different EMS branches, An example would be, the lead of the Psychiatrist division is a Clinical Lead. Therefore they would be training their own division.

Doctors - Doctors are responsible for a variety of things;
Diagnosing patients and providing them with the required treatment that is needed.
Counselling patients with illness and helping them with the procedures and precautions that sound be taken.
Caring for patients who are injured or who have been affected but any medical diseases.

Surgeons - Surgeons are responsible for operating on patients with more severe injuries. In general, Surgeons are Doctors who specialise in performing physical changes on the human body to either treat or diagnose diseases or injuries. Some of the following are examples of areas on the body where Surgeons can operate on;

A surgeon who operates on the bones would be called an Orthopedic.

A surgeon who operates on the brain would be called a Neurosurgeon.

A surgeon who operates on the hands, wrist and forearms is a called Hand Surgeon.
Psychiatrists - Psychiatrists are Doctors who specialise in mental illnesses, they focus on their patient's psychological, mental/mind and emotional health. They also specialise in behavioural disorders and are allowed to provide counselling and aid for patients, this can be done through Therapy and Medication or both. Psychiatrists can also prescribe medicine to patients. There are several ways a Psychiatrist may help their patients it could be through;

Activities: Mindful meditation, which can help with reducing stress and anxiety.
Cognitive behavioural therapy worksheets would help both the Psychiatrist and patient to identify the negative thoughts and behaviours of the patient.

Sitting down with the patient and taking note of what they are saying could be a big help in understanding how they are thinking and how they feel.

To add on Psychotherapy worksheets would be a wonderful way to help the patient to cope with emotions. In addition, having mood trackers for the patient would help regulate mood changes if they’re experiencing any.

(Knowledge)

To add, I do have some hospital knowledge of emergency codes for when you are in a hospital setting, Red is for fire, Blue is for when someone stops breathing or has begun cardiac arrest, or it could be an emergency related to the patient's health. Code Purple is for when someone is being boisterous/violent. Code Pink is for Infant or Child Abduction and Code Silver is for when someone is attacked with a weapon

Backstory (100+ Words)

(Contains 1026 Words)

Liena Han was born on February 12th, 1995, she is currently twenty-seven (27) years old. She was born and raised in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands and now resides in Karakura, Japan. As a child, she was strictly taught Mandarin, by her father. Liena also knows how to speak French. Growing up, Liena's home environment was tense and uneasy due to the fact that her married parents were not living together.

At the age of eight, Liena moved in with her father, Shui Han although she often stays with her mother, Susan Han every week there was still a lot of strange tension between her parents but Liena never had the slightest clue about why they were bickering and why she had to spend time with them separately. Liena was a very intuitive thinker she would pick up on the smallest details, at that point in her life she just assumed that her parents must have been born miserable. Thankfully in all of this, Liena was not alone; she had her older brother Lukas to complain to. Lukas is 5 years older than Liena and somehow that older brother's wisdom would always come in handy whenever Liena was having doubts. Liena deeply cares about her brother and she is concerned for her brother's safety.

During her high school years, she was known for being an overachiever and excelling in her classes. At school, Liena did not have a lot of friends but that did not bother her as much because she would take part in many extracurricular activities after school which would take up all her free time. She took part in many clubs such as the Debate club, Student Council, Prefect body and many other clubs. Liena only has two close friends whom she enjoys spending her free time with occasionally and are still in touch with each other to this day. As Liena always referred to this quote; “Some people were only your friends because you saw them five times a week.” Furthermore, Liena’s father always encouraged her to pursue the Sciences, so she did. She took Human and Social Biology (HSM), Biology and Chemistry. She particularly did not enjoy Chemistry but kept her determination and willingness to excel in all her subjects. She also took Music, Art and French as extra subjects. She took a total of 13 subjects. Liena graduated with a Level 2 High Honors Diploma, scoring 1s overall and 2 in Chemistry.

After graduating high school, at the age of seventeen, Liena moved into an A-level programme (Advanced Levels) so she can be qualified for higher education institutes. Around this time she had been noticing the progressive amounts of mental illness cases in her country, which left her troubled. Along the lines, during her school years, certain events had taken place that awakened her perspective of reality. One of them involved her brother. Lukas started working as a mechanic in a famous Auto Shop and Liena thought Lukas pursuing his dream job was inspiring because she did not have something to pursue yet. Overall, her life was calm after she finished high school and she was taking things easy. She often visited the hospital for her father in need of assistance with her coursework, who works as a psychiatrist. From time to time she would visit her mother at the pharmacy who is a pharmacist, working at the same hospital as her father. During her visits to the hospital, she noticed Lukas would have monthly visits to the pharmacy, taking a variety of prescriptions. At first, she did not connect the dots, until it became more frequent. Instead of asking her brother, she asked her mother but to her surprise, she dodged the question. “Don’t you have studies to focus on, darling?” her mother stated. Next, she decided to ask her father about it. She had high hopes that her father would answer her question, but to her dismay, he also dodged the question. “Your brother has been going through something. It’s better to hear it from me than me.” he replied. She was expecting her father to give her a straightforward answer, but instead, he redirected the question telling her to ask her brother.

A week passed, and the same question lingered in her brain. Why would her parents be so secretive? What is her brother hiding? What are those prescriptions? Doubt and worry clouded her mind but she wanted to ask her brother. Once again, she saw her brother again, this time she had the courage to ask him. “Hey Lu, how are you?” Liena called out. “Oh hey Li Li.” he said coldly. Liena noticed her brother's unwelcoming response but brushed it off. “What are you doing here?”
“Nothing, just visiting mom y’know?” he replied.
Liena knew that was a lie. She frequently comes to the hospital and rarely sees her brother.
“Brother, are you okay? I noticed you’ve been picking up medication from the clinic recently.”
“Ah yes, I'm fine.” his voice quivered. “You know, we haven't been hanging out!” he said quickly. Liena was slightly annoyed at his answer but did not push. She kept chatting with her brother when she noticed his bizarre behaviour and he collapsed to the ground. Later on, she found out through her parents that her brother has been suffering from schizophrenia for the past few years. You can imagine this was not easy to hear and she began to feel emotional. Hearing that her brother has been suffering in silence without his sister's support, broke her heart. At this moment, this situation altered Lienas motives for work and she decided she wanted to be of use to people who are suffering from mental illnesses. She would never want a person to suffer in silence alone and this empowered her to push forward.

Currently, Liena is living in an apartment in Karakura, Japan and is planning to apply to become a psychiatrist at Karakura Hospital. Her parents are still working in the medical field in the Cayman Islands. After moving to Japan, Lienas brother had fallen into a coma and since then she has been praying that someday he will awaken.

SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY
What is your character’s medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?
(Ensure this is appropriate to the position you have chosen)

Liena changed her focus to Psychiatry because recognize the daily struggles that others with mental illness have to go through alone on a daily basis, she also realised that many people in her country are actually struggling with mental illnesses and since something personal had taken place to a family member of hers she wanted to help him and not only him but help the many other people who struggling with these challenges.

What medical residencies did your character take after medical school?

Linea trained under her father at the Cayman Islands Doctors Hospital.

Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?

Yes, she worked assistant psychiatrist and the Cayman Islands Doctors Hospital.

Has your character completed any additional schooling?

Liena attended (A levels) program after she finished high school (She went straight to university after completing the program that's how it's done in the Caribbean)

SECTION 3: CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique?

Liena Han, is not hard to miss. She carries herself with elegance and decorum. Her face is quite captivating her eyes are hazel brown carrying a gentle demeanour with every glance. Her hair is neatly coordinated which would show off her gentle facial expressions and facial features. She has a cute little button nose that complements her 'Cat eyes' beneath her right eye she carries a beauty mark. For her Physique, Liean Han is a petite curvy young woman, who you'd usually catch wearing earth-tone colours that complement her light brown skin.

How does your character act on and off duty?

Liena Han, I would say that her mind never stops working but I would say when she is off duty she is either trying to finish up more work or asking around if anyone else needs help with anything. Liena would usually keep to herself but recently she’s trying to be a bit more extroverted to a certain extent, otherwise that I would say she’s a model citizen. On duty, Liena would always be on stand by ready for action or more so she would walk around assisting others if she’s finished all of her work.

Does your character function better on their own or with others?

Liena can work well on her own and with others. Liena is never afraid to ask for assistance if needed and she never turns down helping someone and even if she can’t help she’ll find someone else who can help. She doesn’t have a problem with being a team player at all if anything she’s more excited to be one.

What plans does your character have for the future?

Liena doesn’t want to restrict herself to the possibilities of her future, I would say that her one focus is pursuing her career and helping others in need of her skills and efforts. Liena can be an idealist at times and whatever she puts her mind to she can always get it done.

How is your character perceived by others? How does it contrast with their perception of themself?

When encountering Liena, the majority would notice how much of a sweetheart she is but the one thing about Liena is there is never a dull moment with her, just by interacting with her you could tell that she has such a precious and genuine soul. Liena always tries to consider her co-workers' feelings and boundaries.

While these are all good qualities, Liena has some negative traits too. At times Liena can be very standoffish when trying to focus, she can also be very outspoken at times and miserable at that. Liena would never try to purposely hurt someone with her words but she tends to “Stick with the truth” and isn’t scared of telling someone when they’re wrong about something. Liena can be quite a stubborn one and won’t go on break until all of her work is finished.

Liena tends to worry about things being perfect all the time everything has to be in order and there always needs to be backups to everything.

Example: Liena is given a task to write a speech she would write 5 other versions of that speech.

Overall, Liena's personality would never get in the way of her work, In conclusion, I think that Liena would be a wonderful addition to the EMS Psychiatrist Division.
