Describe your activity on the server:

Recently, I have become extremely active with as low as around an hour and a half and up to twelve hours of playtime each day. I usually log on daily just to see what's going on and hang around a bit before doing stuff outside and then returning... since I have only around three other things I focus my life on. I currently do not have a job but when I do, my activity may hinder due to that but that won't stop me from logging on at least once everyday. Aside from that, I do go to school so unless I am elsewhere, it's likely I'll be on SRP after the school day is over. If I have an objective to fill, I likely will not leave until a) I get bored of the objective or b) I complete my objective.

APPLICATION INFORMATION

What position are you applying for?:

Lawyer

What is your motivation for applying?:

Going into legal roleplay is both exciting and challenging to me, and I want to take that up as best as I can. Even if I may feel some pushback going into unfamiliar territory, I am confident that, with time and dedication, I will not only gain the necessary knowledge but I will also be able to help others with that as well. Teaching has always been a way for me to express both oocly and icly and it allows me to contribute to the community. Taking on a legal role gives me a chance to combine teaching and the desire to learn something I'm not great with. Legal roleplay is difficult to understand if you're not already walking in with specific knowledge and that makes it hard to understand. You should be able to understand aspects of the courtroom but also be able to notice key features of those around you. Like I said, it needs attention to finer details especially when preparing for arguments and legal issues. This is what makes it a challenge, but a challenge I want to pursue.

Balancing professional and personal issues is one of the things Lawyers do and it could be hard for someone who doesn't understand the difference between them. When you think of a lawyer, you might think of a courtroom or an office, but I believe it's a decision making job that ends up in those places. Each case that a lawyer deals with has the ability to change the way a character's development moves. Whether it's a retraining order or a marriage certificate, it still changes something important. That's what I want to do. I want to turn the way a roleplay moves and make it more important than it seems. Finding skilled roleplayers can be difficult especially when it comes to the legal system and it's understanding. Not only that, many people find it hard to adapt to the scenarios thrown at them. They may stall, pause, or lead things on more than it needs to. Lawyers can't just make it a pass and go situation, they need to make it memorable. I want to be an active member of the government that actually makes a difference.

Do you have an understanding of Karakura’s laws & Constitutional rights?:

Yes. I've read them out of curiosity a couple of times and more for this role.

What are your goals for being in Government Faction?:

This, to me, is a similar question to motivation. I want to create something that ends up impactful or that highlight important parts of the roleplay. I want to bring a lot to the role of a Lawyer since I am intrigued by the idea of it. I want to go into the professional dynamics of being a lawyer and the maturity aspect behind it. I think I could easily focus more on the deeper parts of being a Lawyer like preparing long arguments, telling people the laws, and understand the more broader parts of a lawyer that most people know. Like I said before, teaching other people is a goal of mine and once I get more into the role, I believe that's what I might do. I want to think of it as a way of not only teaching myself things I don't know about the legal system, but also to others about things that aren't common sense. I want people to come to me and be able to feel encouraged to actually roleplay within the legal system more. Make it mysterious, kind of deal.

I like writing so being able to write long and demanding arguments is just right for me. I like the idea of stamping something with my name on it and having represented someone. Everything I do could change the way the story goes and that's certainly nerve-wracking but I know I can do it. I want to be able to be inspiring to other people, whether it's just by seeing me on the team, or by doing something they've always wanted to do.

In your own words, describe the different roles of the Government Faction:

Overall, it's very obvious, and common sense, that the government faction resolves disputes, files orders, and makes everything run smoothly. The three positions you can apply for in the government faction are Governor, Lawyer, and Judge with each having it's own responsibilities.
GOVERNORLAWYERJUDGE
Each role has a lot of basic responsibilities that comes with overseeing the public and making sure everything goes right. However, the governor has responsibilities that include handing out ID cards, officiating marriages, approving adoption paperwork, and performing shop inspections. They also attend trials and conduct public surveys to make sure everyone's needs are met. They are a significant figure in Karakura.Lawyers are advisors who represent clients and handle legal matters. They are the balance. Their responsibilities include attending trials, responding to attorney calls, meeting with clients, filing restraining orders, and managing front desk duties. It's somewhat similar to the Governor's tasks but still has their own unique tasks as well. They also build client lists and allows the lawyer to make their presence known by providing consistent support. They are the voice of the courtroom and make sure everything is done fairly.Even though lawyers are the ones who make it fair, Judge's oversee the law to make sure everything is in order without giving anyone else the benefit of doubt. They watch over trials, issue warrants, and review cases to ensure that justice is properly served. Their responsibilities also include officiating marriages, filing restraining orders, approving adoption paperwork, and managing front desk work, similar to both other positions.

Do you acknowledge that upon being accepted you can be subject to removal at any given time?:

Yes.

Have you read & agreed to follow the Government Faction rules?:

Yes.

Given the amount of high schoolers that are in Karakura, I think this may perfectly align with this job. Nationality & born location:

"I was born in Seoul, South Korea. I am Japanese-Korean."

What makes you a good candidate for this job?

"What makes me a strong candidate for the position of lawyer is a combination of my previous work experiences and my ability to connect with others. With my education which I'm proud to say I am a graduate of Karakura Community College, I can understand the... diverse emotions that the world brings. I understand empathy which is hard to understand but it works well in the legal system. While my formal education is rooted in healthcare, I’ve always had a desire to broaden my horizons, and transitioning into law allows me to use my knowledge for good use. I've definitely gotten used to high-pressure enviornments, as I’ve worked in hospitals treating outpatients, and had siblings to take care of. Beyond that, my experience in customer service roles, such as cashiering and modeling, has made my communication skills stronger. Also, my multilingual capabilities, especially that of JSL, will allow me to speak privately with clients and help those who are disabled, which is exactly what I want to do. It still allows me to keep with the major I graduated with. Overall, my educational foundation, work history, multilingual skills, and ability to approach others easily with empathy makes me a good candidate for this job."
