EVIDENCE:
I was going to sort my items out. Almost my entire inventory was full. I had just taken most of my items out of my chest and was going to move them into another little storage room (which I was in the process of building when the crash happened)
The unexpected crash happened while I was in build mode, so I didn't have time to switch back out of it. I also didn't have time to get a screenshot.
