Why are Teachers so important to SchoolRP?:
Teachers are important to SRP for a number of reason, a big one being that SRP is overall, a school roleplay. I mean it's literally in the name! Without teachers, SRP wouldn't be as immersive of a roleplay experience and honestly, it probably wouldn't be as popular as it is. While many people enjoy gangrp and familyrp, a good portion of roleplayers enjoy the school aspects including going to classes, joining clubs and teams, and working towards becoming a college student and eventually graduating. Without teachers and faculty, students would get awy with anything they wish and have no interactive classes to go to that provide more of a roleplay experience. Another big reason that teachers are so important to the server is because as teachers you help keep the peace among students and stop any fights you may see which makes the roleplay experience more realistic. In real life schools, teachers don't tolerate fighting and will give detention or send them to the principal. Having teachers and faculty allows that same realism in the roleplaying experience on srp.

Describe your character:
Lapis Zindel is a woman in her late twenties who has long, brown hair. Her features are gentle with soft skin that is littered with scars due to her past. Those she cared for as a child hurt her quite often which contributes to her need to be a lifeline for those who need it. She is a very kind and quiet individual, however while teaching she tends to be somewhat strict and very outgoing, allowing herself to create a safe and fun environment for her students. She is understanding when her students struggle and works hard to help them all understand the lessons and answer any questions they may have. As a child, she enjoyed her drama and design technology classes. As she grew, her love only grew, eventually playing a role in her decision to become a teacher. She went to college for both design technology and drama, hoping she'd be able to teach one of the two. She intends to teach her students in a way that they find a love in these subjects just as she did.

What is your character's outlook on students and co-workers?:
Lapis cares a lot for her students and coworkers as both are important to her job and to her as an individual. Although shy at first around her coworkers, if help is needed, she doesn't mind offering her assistance. She respects them all as she knows their jobs aren't easy and are just as important as hers. Having good relations with her coworkers is one of her top priorities as she is well aware that in the end, if she needs assistance in any way shape or form during school hours, she'll need friends to go to. As for students, she cares deeply and tries to understand what each and every one are going through. She works with each student to be sure they have everything they need but isn't afraid to punish them if necessary. She does not tolerate fights and will personally host detention if she gives multiple detentions for fighting. She doesn't believe in violence being the answer for anything and will keep that belief all throughout her teaching days. Students are the groundwork for the school as without students, there would be no school. Due to this, she holds them in high regards and expects them to act their age and not cause any unnecessary issues. Students can be difficult sometimes but having a younger sibling as a child who she was constantly babysitting, she knows she must be strict and work with them for them to grow up into well rounded citizens once they graduate, and she plans to do just that.

What is your character's motivation for teaching?:
Lapis Zindel's motivations for teaching stems from her love for helping children and the subjects of drama and design technology. She was a good student when in school, drama and design technology being two of her favorite classes. She was even adopted by two drama teachers, one passing away, and the other one disowning all of his kids. She found herself in awe of the teachers she watched teach her classmates and herself, allowing her love for the subjects to only grow more. As Lapis grew older, she worked hard to become a teacher, getting her degrees from some of the top colleges in the country. She dedicated herself to her studies and came out in honor roll. Throughout each school play and drama and design technology class, Lapis' love for the arts grew, eventually leading her to her calling,

Roleplay Scenarios

A student in class is struggling to understand the content, what would your character do?:
/me notices a student is struggling to keep up with the content that she's going over during class. Letting out a small sigh of worry, Lapis allows the students to have a few minutes to rest while she walks over to the student, kneeling down to speak to them. "Hey, Reggie, I noticed you were having a hard time keeping up. How can I help you understand this better?" her voice comes out soft and caring, she was being sure none of the other students could hear her conversation. The student began explaining what he didn't understand, Lapis nodding as she listened closely to find a solution. "Alright, well how about this. We can talk during break and I can help you understand this better by explaining in more detail and finding a language you can understand. How does that sound?" The student gives Lapis a smile and a nod, agreeing and letting her know that would be very helpful. A quick thanks was given before Lapis walked back up to her desk.

A student is continuously being disruptive in class, talking out of turn, and making jokes with classmates. What would your character do?:
/me walks back and forth, watching as each student works on their current projects. Noticing one student talking loudly and causing an issue for the others around them, Lapis walks over and glances down at their work. "Ellie, could you please lower your voice and work on your project? You are making it difficult for your peers to focus. I understand if you aren't interested in this, but it is important that you do your best for your grade." she speaks quietly, being sure not to disrupt her other students as she does. The student gives a small groan and a nod, allowing Lapis to walk away. After a few minutes, the student begins again. Lapis takes a deep breath before walking over once again. "Ellie, we talked about this. You need to keep your voice down and work on your project." her voice was a bit more stern this time as she spoke to the student, knowing that after this if the student disrupts again she'll be forced to remove them. The student lets out yet another groan before agreeing to stay quiet.

This demonstrates Lapis Zindel's three strike rule where after two warnings you are removed from the class.

Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas related to your preferred subject:
SAFETY FIRST!
During this lesson, Lapis Zindel will be going over safety procedures and guidelines with the students for when they are working with any tools for their projects. During this lesson, students will be given the chance to give ideas of how to safely use tools when working and what they think the proper procedure is. Once students finish giving their ideas, Lapis will then go over the proper rules and regulations of safely using tools. Once she finishes doing this, homework will be assigned to the students to be sure they understand the material we went over.

UPCYCLING FUN!
During this lesson, Lapis Zindel will go over what upcycling is and what it consists of doing. She will explain the definition, then give some examples during the lecture portion of the class, then once the lecture portion is finished, she will allow students to pick from a pile of old items, each one no longer working, in order to make something of their own to show their understanding of upcycling! Lapis will also be giving homework on the definition of upcycling and what they made when allowed to be creative!
