Backstory:

Chapter 1 Early Childhood​

Maenna Matthews was born in St. Louis MO, USA to her parents on a early rainy thursday morning. She was the second child in her family when she was born after her older brother who was older than her by 2 years. In her toddler years she briefly got to meet her grandparents until they sadly passed away and her fathers parents were deceased long before she was born. Her father's best friends family had become her family of aunts and uncles and grandparents and cousins. She learned languages growing up in the diverse city of St. Louis. She learned to speak spanish, german, and japanese when she learned she was going to move to Japan. She grew up in a middle class family where her dad was a stay at home dad and her mom worked as a nurse.
When she started kindergarten she had a blast until she got a bit older and started to notice the differences between herself and other girls. She found that most girls weren't tall or curvy like she was and was told so by her peers in the form of bullying her and calling her names. She was loved by her peers but she had soon grown to hate that many saw her as the dorky friend of ppular girls and she didn't care about popularity like most kids did when she went to school, she just wanted to be with her friends. She had learned to read and write faster than most her age as well as her skill in mathematics, social studies, and science though she says this was because everyone else in her family is good at math. She got on the honoral for multiple years in elementary school and she did really well and her parents were proud of her, even though they were hard on her.

Chapter 2: Moving to Japan​

Maenna's parents urged her to join a foreign exchange program to go to school in Japan and Maenna tried her best and got accepted with flying colors. Her mother flew over with her as Maenna was scared of flying and her mother was going to stay with her so that Maenna's progressing anxiety didn't get any worse. She applied for citizenship and was granted Japanese Citizenship along with her mother.
