Appearance: A disheveled man often seen in yesterday's clothes, with pale blue eyes that seem empty behind his glasses. Despite brushing his hair daily, the wind renders it a fluffed up mess that covers a majority of his features if you're not looking at him head-on, and reaches around his mid-back. At 5'7", he's not necessarily intimidating, but the energy he gives off is a little unsettling. His eyes are often narrowed and his lips get chapped from the cold, giving him a particularly bitter expression. Recently, it seems he's let his hair grow out and gotten basic ear piercings, one stainless steel ball marking each lobe.
Personality: Maik is outwardly quiet and reserved, spending any time out of classes in the shopping district or in his apartment, considering the plaza is too crowded for his tastes. He’ll sit there for hours, looking like he's waiting for someone, then eventually wander off to the pool. Considering his anti-social demeanor, he’s often avoided, but he’s not necessarily mean. That's just how he is, and as a result he doesn't often seek people out. When you get to know him, he's quite nice and likes to joke around, but he's a bit apprehensive to new people.
Diseases/Illness: Aortic Stenosis and a deadly peppermint allergy.
Character Voice: Imagine Paul Dano...but younger, with a light German accent. It gets heavier the more upset he is.
Equipment:
A brown schoolbag containing most of his worldly possessions, including but not limited to; his wallet, a smartphone, a few silver rings, broken rectangle-framed glasses, a hairbrush, various pencils and pens, a notebook journal, headphones, an umbrella, a single pencil sharpener, gold-rimmed glasses, a photo of himself standing beside his mother and a girl with short blonde hair at a birthday party, and a rosary made of beautiful blue pearls.
Clothes: The only clothing he seems to own include his typical school outfit, pajamas, swim trunks, and some basic outerwear for the cold months.

Serious Problems/Flaws/Addictions: He has a tendency to push people away, and an even worse habit of not eating that well. Most of his diet consists of fruit and sweets, and he seemingly has no plans to change that.

Extra: Maik managed to win the genetic lottery, at least in terms for his own life, and is flat-chested entirely. This allows him to swim without too much worry, and to anyone else he seems like a perfectly normal teenage boy other than his unrelated off-putting demeanor. He also refuses to wear his glasses a majority of the time, resulting in poor depth perception.
Backstory:
Born to his mother in Hamburg, Germany, he lived near the port of the large trade city for many years. Their life was peaceful and quiet, and he had a handful of friends that lived in the small section of apartments his family resided in, though only one he truly enjoyed hanging out with. She was his best friend, and they spent practically every waking minute together, happily running around the port and apartment buildings to play pretend. However, on his thirteenth birthday, Maik returned home to a catastrophic tragedy; one that left him afraid and running for his life until he ran quite literally into a tall man. The man had smiled at him and claimed to be his father, an odd American man who didn't seem familiar in the slightest, though he knew enough information about Maik's family for him to believe it. Under the man's supervision, he was flown to Japan and put into school there, then told to fend for himself off his allowance "in preparation for the adult world." Since the first day of school, he hasn't seen the man since, and has been unsuccessful contacting the phone number he was given.
