Backstory:
Maria Jõgi alongside her twin sister was born in Estonia in a city called Pärnu to Mariette Jõgi and Markus Jõgi. Maria lived the first 12 years of her life in Estonia making her mother tounge estonian. A few weeks after Maria had turned 12 her parents decided to move to Japan because they always have liked Japan and the culture. They hadn't decided to move before because they didn't have enough money but at that time they did so they moved. The first few months in Japan they lived in Tokyo but then decided to move to Kyoto because living in Tokyo wasn't cheap. They lived in Kyoto in a small house for 5 years before they moved from Kyoto to Karakura because they just felt that Kyoto wasn't the place for them. A few weeks before Maria turned 13 she was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, a disease/illness that makes someone lose their eyesight overtime. When she found out she was devastated because she had dreams of becoming a cop or a soldier and well when your blind that isn't exactly doable. After that she had decided that she is gonna spend the next few years seeing as much of the world as she can. She did do that but that soon came to a halt because when she was 14 her eyesight started to worsen and by the time she was 15 she was completely blind. So when they had moved to Karakura when she was 17 she had to learn the way around town without sight. To this day she is still learning the way around town and currently only knows the way to school, home, plaza and the hospital.
