KARAKURA POLICE DEPARTMENT POLICE OFFICER APPLICATION

Out-Of-Character (OOC) Section

IGN (In-Game Name):

Maysi

Previous bans:
One for Extreme Gore (appeal was accepted) and I still wish I could go back and stop myself, I can't get over my embarrassment for going through with it. I plan to never repeat this offence or any others, and I have made sure of this by rereading the server rules frequently so I do not forget anything. Again, I want to stress how sorry I am about this ban and I really want to move away from it with a positive mind

Describe your activity on the server:
I spend a lot of time on the server, ranging from 4-5 hours per day on the weekends and 2-3 hours on weekdays since my school has started again. There is rarely a day I am offline unless something has happened in real life, in which case I will make sure to let the higher-ups know rather than disappearing without notice

Which timezone are you in?:
BST

Do you have Discord? If so, what is your tag:
Mel#4723

Do you have a microphone [Required]:
- I have a mic but I can't really use it due to issues at home (I can explain more in dms, I know it's inconvenient but there's not much I can do about it)

List your current and past applications:
College Application [Accepted]

Italian Application [Accepted]

French Application [Accepted]

Greek Application [Accepted]

Persian Application [Accepted]

What is your motivation for applying?:
My main motivation for applying is that I would like more experience in different roles on the server. I looked over the different ones I could apply for and this faction is the one that appealed to me the most since the school jobs are not as interesting to me. Having been a player since late 2019, I have only been involved in basic school roles such as Grade-12 and College. Due to this, I have been getting less motivated to join the server, even more so in the times I was suspended and eventually expelled. I've looked at the city roles (specifically the KPD) and been curious about what the procedures are and how it all works. I was hesitant in applying due to my history with my previous character, but I thought that since it was IC, it should not affect my chances too much if I apply as a new character that was never a criminal. Nonetheless, I do not expect much and I am prepared to be denied but I thought it wouldn't hurt to try.

I think it would be a great change in the kind of rp I usually take part in and highly refreshing too since I had played a character that was on the complete opposite side of the law. It was fun while it lasted but in the last month I had grown tired of playing the villain, alongside that I was running out of ideas to make it less generic or meaningful for that matter. While I did play a questionable persona, I think it is worth noting that I never really had a reputation in GangRP and didn't join gangs OOCly. That being said, I have decided to try something completely new for myself on the server and I am ready to play the role with as much accuracy and effort as I can put in. I enjoy experiencing new things as it makes me more open-minded, and by trying to do something completely different from what I’ve always known, I’d not only be developing my style of writing and rp experience but also being a better member of the community by interacting more within it.

Do you understand Japanese Laws and Basic Conduct?
Yes and I have researched the laws in more depth for this role too.

What knowledge do you have of Police Work?
Police work consists of many factors and requires determination, stamina and teamwork. There are countless responsibilities the cadets and ranks above face every day; this includes but is not limited to: lengthy hours of training, patrolling Karakura to check the overall state of the city, searching any suspicious individuals, neutralising public disturbances, investigating crime scenes, taking reports from concerned citizens, questioning suspects and making arrests. Although I noted some regular jobs the KPD have to deal with, there is far more to the faction than just surface level impressions. Communication is highly important and all of the members must know how to work together, no matter how stressful the situation they are taking on is; therefore, it is vital for all of them to get to know each other so there is no tension that hinders their goals.

All of the officers are expected to use their years of training to the fullest extent, and with this they are also supposed to know how to stay driven in the work that is set for them. Not only should they be inspired by one another to keep going, but they should also be encouraged to increase their stamina, even when they feel like they can't last working for any longer. This needs strong physical and mental ability which can be very difficult, particularly for new cadets; but, as I stated before, any stress caused can be managed so long as all of the members reassure each other. If they display this kind of will power, they will be showing the higher-ups, citizens and themselves that they are capable of maintaining a socialised city.

Why is Police important to SchoolRP?
Just like in real life, Police are significant as they help keep their city safe by fighting crime every day. Without law enforcement, any society would not last for long before chaos breaks out. From there, all sorts of offenders would be let loose and free to commit any felonies without repercussion; then it would hardly be considered a city as it would be run down and torn apart by those with ill-intentions. This would cause all of the innocent citizens to feel unsafe and regretful of ever moving to a place so unguarded; it is quite obvious that living in such a place is dangerous and unfavourable, meaning the population of Karakura would decline as more people rightfully choose to take themselves and their loved ones to a more stable location. In order to avoid anything like this from happening, be it riots, robberies, gang war, and anything of the sort, there must be a firm and active constabulary in place.

Do you acknowledge that you're subject to being demoted if accepted at any given time?
I do and if I was demoted I would not take it personally as I’d know there was a valid reason the decision had been made.

Do you acknowledge that applying for this role, you are agreeing to be 100% dedicated to the Police Officer role?
My aim when applying is to be dedicated to the Police Officer role. I do not wish to waste anyone's time reading this, and for that reason I am applying for the sole purpose of taking the role seriously and being as useful as possible.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are authorised to attend or you will be punished?
I acknowledge this and I promise to attend any time I am available since that is the main reason I am trying to be a part of the KPD: To be a devoted and loyal addition.

Do you acknowledge that you’re subject to IC harassment, and you are NOT to take things OOCly when dealing with training & situations?
I understand this completely and I like to think that I am good at separating / detaching myself from my character. I have never faced problems with mixing IC with OOC as I know my character is not me.

CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE

Describe your character; how they look, what makes them unique?

Jasmine is a solemn female who could be described as a workaholic, almost always seen being productive or improving herself in any way possible. She keeps to herself a lot, sometimes getting lost in her thoughts when she is not preoccupied with something else or when she is simply exhausted. The straightforward and no-nonsense attitude she has makes her seem like no fun, practically never joking with others or getting too comfortable. However, she knows how to respond to social cues, in which case she will try to lighten up a bit and maybe crack a laugh. Usually, she will stay away from childish confrontations as she would rather have any disagreements solved through logical debate; by displaying such maturity, she will be able to get along just fine with her co-workers and deal with anyone who comes to the station.

Appearance-wise, she has a slim build and stands at 5’7”; she keeps her figure through constant exercise and specialises in long-distance running. She has long, auburn brown hair that frames her fair complexion with tidy, pin-straight tresses. Her eyes are honey coloured and seem to glow in the sun, though sometimes she zones out and they appear glazed over. When passing by her, the fragrance of Black Orchid's perfume would be pleasantly noticeable. Her voice is of a middle pitch, sounding smooth as she speaks in an easy-going manner; she usually keeps quiet unless she is spoken to, not seeing much need for tiring herself out with unnecessary speech. Generally, she’d have a gentle presence and can almost be missed in a room full of people as she is not outgoing.

What they're like on and off the job?
On the job, Jasmine is a diligent worker who may be too focused on the goal at hand; therefore, when she is set a task, she will do everything in her power to complete it to the best of her ability and any distractions will be blatantly ignored. Her unwavering determination can cause her to be seen as non-talkative or even anti-social, especially when something has her complete focus. Even though she has been a reserved and silent person for all her life, she does try to be as friendly as possible with other co-workers so they can all cooperate effectively. Her anxiety has been a huge obstacle for as long as she can remember; even so, she has been making an effort to tackle this drawback by putting herself out there more often and she hopes to pursue her dream career without it getting in the way.

When she is not working, Jasmine tends to relax slightly and spend time outside, usually taking walks or sometimes playing sports. Alternatively, she may spend time at home when she wants peace away from everyone. That being said, there is a certain aura of paranoia about her in which her idea of ‘relax’ is slightly different from the usual ideas surrounding it. This means that even when she is off duty, she will still be quite alert about her surroundings or who is behind her when outside and alone. Her hyper-awareness can work against her in some scenarios, but instead of letting it dishearten her, she tries to see the positive side and intends to utilise it in her future career.

Outlook on their co-workers? Plans for the future?
She would respect her co-workers from a distance, remaining polite to all of them without question. Over time, she may let her guard down around those she trusts and set her nerves aside. Ultimately, she sees the rest of the members as an inspiration to her and has looked up to them during her time at Karakura High whenever she saw them pass by the school or doing their duty around the city.

As for the future, Jasmine is set on serving the police force to keep the city safe and as crime-free as it can be. Her aspirations have never been unclear to her because she has always known this is the field of work she wants to be in; it gives her a sense of duty and worth to help others who are facing situations they cannot deal with. By continuing her journey as a police officer, she will know she is loyal to the faction itself and also the citizens.

BACKSTORY

Jasmine Ansari was born on a scorching day on June the 8th, located in the city of Shiraz, Iran. Her mother, Sahar Ansari, may as well have been a single mother; Her husband had been acting strangely paranoiac, often looking over his shoulder when the two of them were out and on the whole having jolting mannerisms. The so called father was not present when she was giving birth to her baby daughter, and Jasmine was her second child. With no hand to hold on to through the process, Sahar was at the very least hopeless for the future of her children. She lay there for never-ending hours, crying her heart out until Jasmine was finally received. Needless to say, her mother couldn't help but feel bitter and sorry for herself. She was ignored by him, left to deal with a five year old son, Kasra, and new born baby all on her own.

. . .

Many years had passed, Jasmine had reached the age of eleven and completed her primary school education. Her father had been following his behavioural patterns, consistently avoiding his responsibilities and not playing his part for his children; more often that not, he'd just be away from the house, still married to Sahar but barely a part of the family. He was hiding something from all of them, and his wife's deteriorating mental health raised no apprehension in his clouded conscious. During the years that were behind her: childhood, Jasmine was no stranger to abuse. Her mother's self-pity spiralled out of control into a dark, twisted outlet on her own children: the ones she was meant to love. Freshly covered in black, blue and red, Jasmine pushed through with her studies in the state school her father carelessly shoved her in. Her brother would be sixteen, already out of the picture as he'd rather save himself from her. He had fled with his group of friends, taking a train to a completely different area of Iran in which they all lived together. He didn't care, he hardly knew his sister anyway.

. . .

Some more years later, she was now sixteen herself. Jasmine blocked out the customary sound of her mother's forever dissatisfied complaints; only Jasmine's mistakes mattered to her, and she was always ready to lock onto anything 'unacceptable' her daughter did. As Sahar screamed at her, she'd flail her hands and send all sorts of furniture tumbling to the floorboards in disruptive clashes. Jasmine covered her ears, tilting her head left and right to avoid her homework from being tear stained; she had been straining her eyes to read the blurry words without letting a single drop fall. Her vision of what she wanted to do in life had been gradually forming, and given her circumstances, she did well in the GCSEs she had chosen. In the midst of all her progress, her mother wouldn't have the slightest idea; often caught dazed in a forgotten memory of the husband she wished would come back, the husband who loved her and showed it too. All she wanted was to have him by her side again, but life was unfair. That man wasn't coming back, and she was stuck with the girl that hadn't disappeared as her brother did. Sahar couldn't have been happier when Kasra faded away out of her life. Why couldn't that waste of space do the same?

. . .

Life was getting better; Jasmine was eighteen, ready to take her A-level qualifications of English Literature, Criminology and Mathematics to whichever country she could afford to fly to. There was no way she was staying in the country she grew to hate, the country full of so many painful memories in which the unforgiving heat beat down into her psyche. No, she wouldn't forget, but she could leave and shift her focus. By keeping herself on the right track and following her academic career, maybe she would learn to move on from what had happened to her. Over the course of two years, sixteen to eighteen, Jasmine had also been working in a multitude of part time jobs. With non-stop exertion, she had managed to garner enough income to book a flight to a city in Japan, Karakura. She chose this country as she sought after change, and complete change at that. Japan's scenery was completely different to her home country's, and its whole atmosphere allured her.

. . .

It wasn't much of a challenge to slip away from her mother's drowsy eyes.

Jasmine simply packed her few belongings into a small luggage, making her way downstairs of the worn down house that was way overdue of its rent. She'd leave her mother completely on her own, just as she had wished. Without so much as a glance at the woman who lay passed out on the ripped sofa, Jasmine walked out, slowly creaking the door open and then. . . Closed.

She took a few long bus rides; there were some altercations in her journey, but nothing too preventative. Eventually, she reached her nearest airport, catching her flight in good time as she jogged through the spacious and ventilated building. All the way she ran, reaching the familiar stairs that led up to the Economy Class airline. She stepped into the airplane when it was her turn, hit by the crowded set up where strangers were lined up, tucking their belongings away into the cargo holds. Her heart was palpitating rapidly against her chest as her anxiety began to kick in, but she was snapped out of it when a flight attendant prompted her to go sit down as they were about to take off soon. So she did, and she eased back into the chair for it was a long journey she was about to endure.

. . .

Jasmine had reached her destination, Karakura, Japan. She enrolled into the high-school system there, studying the language Japanese itself as a foreigner so she could feel more at home there. This was extremely difficult for her, but as a couple more years passed, she eventually came to terms with it. Whenever she speaks Japanese, a distinct Persian accent can be heard even though she tries her best to cover it up. In her time at the school, she continued what she had always known, studying vigorously to achieve her dream career of being a police officer. For the majority of her life, from the age of just eleven, Jasmine was always fascinated by the officers that had passed by her in the streets. In her country, they were very different from Karakura's police but she evaluated and appreciated the differences between both of them. The job offers a chance to deliver justice to those in need, and this is something that Jasmine is highly connected to. Her perseverance has not faltered throughout her time at Karakura High, but rather prospered as she keeps pushing herself to work and work for the result she wants.

Note:

I know I wrote the book but it was just ICLY and it wasn't representative of my own feelings towards the KPD, sorry x

Also, I feel like I need to touch on the ban reason again since I believe it will jeopardise my chances. I want to say that ever since I got that ban, I have understood exactly why it was inappropriate in the server. To be honest, it was just sick and plain stupid of me for not realising that writing like that shouldn't be allowed here. I think it's time to move away from that kind of rp completely and instead I should dedicate my time to something much lighter and productive. The actions were out of line and disturbing to anyone who had to read it, so it's better if I stop involving myself in such themes of rp for the sake of everyone's mental health and my own because I was getting worse when writing things of that nature

Thank you for your time and consideration
