Why are Teachers so important to SchoolRP?:
Teachers are important for a number of reasons. The core reason is the classes of the school, which make the school a, well. . .school! Ofcourse, teachers also make sure students behave outside of classes.
Let’s start with the first one. Without teachers, there wouldn’t be classes for the Highschool faction of SchoolRP. The Highschool faction is one of the most populated factions, because it’s also the default faction. Although classes serve no real purpose Out-Of-Character (mostly because everyone already knows it all), it’s a critical part of In-Character roleplay, scenarios and conversations. Classes can shape a character to who they are, giving them a subject to hate, love, teachers to hate and love, etc. It can also interest them in future jobs (or factions, whatever you want to call it) for when they grow up.
Secondly, teachers, much like all of the other staff of the school (Professors, Employees, Councillors (Councillors aren’t really employees, but you get me)) make sure all students behave and follow the school rules (see below). If, for example, a fight breaks out, it’s the teacher’s job to make sure it stops, and the right people get detention. Incase of a fight, all people involved in fist throwing get detention.
1. No trespassing after the gates have closed.
2. No masks are to be worn on school property.
3. No alcohol or cigarettes allowed.
4. No bullying on school grounds.
5. No weapons allowed on school grounds.
6. No stealing allowed on school grounds.
7. No animals are allowed on school grounds.
8. Don't disrespect faculty.
9. No vandalism permitted on school grounds.
10. No P.D.A. (Public Display of Affection) is permitted on school grounds.
11. Do not converse with people at the gate.
12. No assault on school property.
13. Do not leave school during school hours.
14. Do not litter on school grounds.
15. Do not use school equipment without permission.
16. Do not use intense profanity in school.
17. No transactions on school grounds
18. Do not falsely report individuals
19. Report any suspicious activity.
20. Dress appropriately. Costumes must be removed.
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you may lose your role?:
Yes
Do you agree to undergo teacher training if your application is successful?:
Yes

In-Character Section

What's your character's full name?:
“Hruh? Ah- uhh.. .My name is Akie Magimoto Nakazumi!”

What is your character's nationality?:
“Well, to my belief I was born in Japan, just like the rest of my family.”

What is your preferred subject to teach?:
Performing Arts (Music)

Describe your character:
Akie Magimoto Nakazumi is a 75 year old lady. She has grey hair, and usually wears a green kimono, which is specially designed for her family. Her husband owns the popular shop Henki-Do, giving her a bit of an insight into the youth of these times. . . Akie usually acts pretty chill, not really being strict and instead allowing people to do what they wanna do, as long as they follow the rules and have respect. Akie doesn’t mind people not doing things, such as practice or doing homework, since it won’t be her problem if they don’t understand.
If a fight were to break out, Akie wouldn’t dare to intervene, knowing damn well her body can’t take the students. Instead, Akie quickly calls for backup using her faculty radio. At home, Akie would spend hours planning lessons, as well as outings for her family, family events such as an easter breakfast, christmas dinner and such.
What makes Akie stand out, is that she, compared to most grandma’s, knows a lot about modern tech, memes and the internet. She knows all the brain rot memes (I am currently questioning whether I should put this in the final app or not), and actively engages in doing things with her great-grandchildren. They show her modern tech and explain her new things, allowing her to get closer to the younger generation and understand them better.
Akie is obsessed with music, and always uses it in her daily life. In the 70’s, during the Showa Era, Akie used to teach in a local highschool in Fukushima. She used to teach Drama, but later switched to music. After a while, she moved to Karakura, tutoring music to students who didn’t quite understand the lessons. In the 90’s, she left the school to help her husband with his shop. Although she did leave a gift at the school. A pie, which was never removed and is still molding away in the teacher’s lounge to this day.
For the future, Akie plans on just continuing working until she’s too old. After that, she will rest, together with her husband Kogoro.

What is your character's outlook on students and co-workers?:
Akie really enjoys being around children. She has a large family with lots of children. Akie always tries to strike up a conversation with everything and everyone- animals included. One time, she got one of her great grandchildren to date a guy without them even knowing. Crazy shishh. For her co-workers, Akie would make coffee in the lounge (That is, if the coffee machine is working (throwback to april 2024)), make pie and even hotdogs. . .Just. . ignore the molden pie in the lounge-
As for the students, Akie would send a kind nod and smile their way, and maybe even strike up a conversation with a few. Maybe even about songs and music. .

What is your character's motivation for teaching?:
As said before, Akie used to teach P.A. at multiple schools in Japan, giving her a lot of experience in the subject and the job. She has a lot of experience with students misbehaving, but has more positive memories than bad memories. Akie strives to educate more students about music, and teach them how exciting it can be to create it. She wishes that students use music more in their daily life, rather than to shrug it off as “too hard” or “too difficult to understand.”
Akie wants to make the teacher faction a better and more comfortable place by bringing her grandma love and elegance to the staff.
Furtheron, teaching in general makes Akie happy, knowing that she is actively educating and helping children form their lives. Even with PA!

Roleplay Scenarios

A student in class is struggling to understand the content, what would your character do?:
Akie would be actively on the HUNT for students not understanding her lessons. Suddenly, she spots one! Akie walks over to them, and asks them how the exercises are going. She asks if the student understands everything. The student explains that they do not understand a part of the explanation given. Akie would stand up and walk to her desk, taking out a small, portable chalkboard and bringing it over to the student. She started to explain the content again, as well as give a few examples and small exercises whilst she supervises the student, to see if they do it well.

A student is continuously being disruptive in class, talking out of turn, and making jokes with classmates. What would your character do?:
Akie may be nice and chill, but she has limits. OOoohoohoooh, you don’t wanna get over her limits!
Non-Verbal 1: Akie would glare at the students with a judging expression, laying a finger over a lip and shushing them
Verbal 1: Akie would calmly ask the students to calm down and follow the lesson. She would remind them that they are in the class to learn, not to be joking around and denying others their education.
Verbal 2: Akie would once again remind the students to calm down, explaining to them that continuous behaviour would result in removal from class or even detention.
Verbal 3: Akie would tell the students to calm down once last time, allowing others to learn in peace, and allowing her to continue her lesson without disruption
Action: Akie is DONE! She walks up to the students, and tapes a detention slip over their mouth, then picks the students up (with super grandma strength, ofcourse (After her back snaps)) and kicks them out of class. “I’ll see you after 3’s, darling!” /me SLAMS THE DOOR &l&oSHUT.

Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas related to your preferred subject:
Musical Puzzling

The students will get two lessons to prepare and get educated for the puzzle. Then, the day comes! Students get grouped into small teams of 3 that must solve a series of music theory puzzles that will unlock new clues and ultimately open a box with- you guessed it! CANDY!!! This activity can transform the classroom from a boring learning space into an investigative space where everything can be a clue.
Here's how it'll play out
Around the room, there’ll be multiple tables with puzzles that will give hints. Each table has a different kind of musical puzzle, for example music-math, Sharp and flat puzzles, intervals (If you don’t know, a correct scale has intervals of 1 - 1 - .5 - 1 - 1 - 1 - .5 - 1. If it doesn’t, it sounds and is wrong), as well as sound training (For example, two notes will be played and the students need to guess if it’s Prime, Seconds, Thirds, Quarters or Fifths.
The students will make groups of four, then each get assigned to a starting table and everyone moves clockwise through the room

Singing With Ease (Double Period)
As the class opened, Akie would stand on stage introducing herself. She would slide over the course of the lesson, explaining what will be done. She sets the mood; comfortable and safe.
Then, Akie would start to do breath exercises with the students; body relaxations and vocal warm-up.
Afterwards, the students form groups of two and start to practice a song of their choice. After about 10 minutes, Akie would call everyone to their seats and ask who wants to go first.
After everyone (or a few people, due to time constraints) have sung their song, Akie would explain the homework. She would walk to the whiteboard at the back of the classroom, and write down some questions;

- What did you find interesting about the singing and expression of your favourite act?
- What did you learn about your voice today?
- What would you like to further develop?

As the bell rings, Akie reminds everyone to stay motivated to practice and keep fun with singing.

Goals:
Awareness of the body and breathing during the singing.
The development of the voice, clearness and sound.
Daring to sing expressive and emotional.
Increasing good self-reflection by performing in a safe environment.

Have you read and understand the Teacher Application Guidance thread?
Yes

Further notes about your application:

I think I’m very well fit for this subject and role. I am a part-time musician, and have been doing music for all my life. As of now, I’m a saxophonist, giving me BIG knowledge on music, both practical and theoretical. I also have a diploma for music.

I understand that my reputation on the server isn't. . .the best- But if I get accepted, I'll give it my best shot and prove I'm worthy of this role. As always, I'm not doing it for the tag. I'm doing it for the fun that comes with roleplaying in the faction. The reason my reputation is pretty bad in the community is mostly because of my severe ADHD, which makes communication for me harder, as I sometimes want to say something, then immediately forget what I was gonna say, yap too much or say things that I don't want to say. It's a problem I'm also struggling with in real life.
Allowing me to join this faction will give me a chance and space to better my reputation and prove myself worthy of the role, whether it's by Out-Of-Character reputation, or In-Character reputation.
Believe me- I don't want a bad reputation and I'd do anything to improve it. Becoming a teacher would allow me to better my reputation whilst also enjoying a new faction and roleplay scenarios
Thanks!
