Backstory: Nanami Victoire Misaki was born to a French mother and Japanese father in Bordeaux, France, in 2001. Her albinism came from her grandmother, who taught her to see herself as beautiful, not strange. She got the nickname Angelique for her 'angelic' childish appearance. She was a bright and happy child, usually staying with her grandparents during the day while her mother worked at a patisserie nearby and her father worked at the hospital as a nurse. Her vision began failing around the age of seven, so she started wearing glasses. She mainly spoke French for the first eight years of her life, and her father started teaching her Japanese when she turned nine. This was to prepare for when they all moved back to Japan a few years later. When she was eleven, they packed up and moved to Japan. For a few years, she homeschooled, but started attending the local highschool at the age of fourteen, and also got contacts at that time. She made a few loose friendships, but she tends to wander around and talk to anyone who's near her. People occasionally laughed at her mistakes in Japanese, but she would laugh along with them until it eventually stopped. At the age of fifteen, she learned that both her grandmother and grandfather had died in France from a bus crash, and the family immediately returned to Bordeaux for the funeral. Later, she returned, more saddened from the loss, but still bright and smiley. She would like to start a drama club, as she feels that the city doesn't have enough opportunity.
