Meeting Norah is a memorable experience, and she makes sure of it. She’ll either joke around with you or do something so embarrassing you have to. She seemed to be a reckless, outgoing young lady leading a life with her words instead of her brain. The way she spoke makes you think she’s out of a modern comedy. She always listens to what people are saying regardless if it’s annoying or boring. Once you get to know her, you’ll begin to understand her insecurity, see her passion for the world and the people in it, and notice how she loves the spotlight. Anytime anything serious is being brought up, she’d most likely deflect it or turn it into a joke.
Her character traits majorly consist of charisma, humor, jovial, ambition, and boldness. Her charisma comes from being alone and being the background character of her sister for most of her life. She lived being an extra and never wants to feel that way again. Her humor trait comes from her friends in her teenage years who always make her have an amazing time through laughter. They’d go around boarding school pranking the serious people which would either make someone’s day or leave the girls with a laugh. Being jovial wasn’t her lifestyle for most of her life, but simply smiling herself makes her feel okay and safe. She doesn’t ever want to feel pain and always runs away from situations that could make her feel that way. Her ambition is partly her father’s fault, she looked up to him because he worked so much and was so passionate about what he did. The same with her mother, even if it was a low-paying job as a priest, she enjoyed helping others. Her ambition stems more from modeling and other forms of fine art. Her boldness is something she built throughout her childhood, standing up for herself, being a confident person regardless of what people thought, and not letting the risk of humiliation drive her from not doing what she wants to do.

From 8 to 11 years old, her ears rang of consistent whining of her step-mom judging her for eating three meals, snacks, and drinking anything other than water. Whining consists of derogatory words like "fatty","pig", and "you're really eating all of that?" That whining still rings in her ear as she eats, and she copes by running everything she just ate away.

Her parents and everyone who loved her left her, ignored her, or ended up being separated from her. She's afraid to emotionally attach to anyone because she believes that she will be left or hurt in the end.
Agliophobia (fear of emotional pain)
During her time as a child and as a teenager, she experienced numerous counts of emotional pain that turned physical. She coped with drugs, but she always woke up with the same pain. The pain of being unwanted by her parents, her sister, and having no one who understood her life.

Her step-mom not only displayed her narcissism but showed Norah a life that was beneficial being a narcissist. They always got what they wanted and were loved. Norah adopted some of these traits such as always having to be the center of attention, lack of empathy, and the need for admiration among her peers.

A street race she participated in October of 2021 resulted in a major accident that left her moderately deaf. This put an endless struggle in communication with people until she found hearing aids and people who understood JSL and were willing to learn.

BACKSTORY IN EVENTS
BEFORE BIRTH

Aera Shin was on her high school trip in Greece when she met this gorgeous college student named Aleksander Geladari. From that point, they spent countless hours together with the time she had left on her trip. That two weeks meant so much to her, she believed she had fallen in love with Aleksander.

It was a rainy night at the Statue of Athena. Aleksander asked Aera if she wanted to go back to his apartment until it stopped raining, she, of course, accepted. They drive there in his luxury vehicle. He opens the door for her and his “apartment” turned out to be more like a penthouse. The high ceiling, marble counters, and hardwood floors fit together so perfectly. It was something out of a film. The two proceeded by having a couple of drinks, the love they shared brought the birds and the bees... Aera woke up early in the morning in a rush to make it back to her tour group. She leaves a simple note and gets on the plane back to South Korea.

The night of Halloween in 2000 is the special night Aera Shin was blessed with the unexpected baby girl, Norah Eve Geladari, before an even more unexpected twin sister, Hori Geladari, in Yeinhe Ilshin Hospital. Aera was unaccompanied on her visit to the hospital, as Aleksander didn’t know about the pregnancy and was on a business trip in China.

About one month later, Aera realizes being a single mother of two girls is too much to handle and looks to the government to find Aleksander. She hoped he still felt the need to love and care for Aera as he once did, but he didn't care to hear from Aera or that she had his children. He explained that he was too busy with work and would simply send a check every month. The court ruled Aera will get custody on the weekdays, and Aleksander will get custody on the weekends.

After Aera graduated in 2001, she got a job as a priest at Redeemer International Community Church of Busan. It wasn’t her dream, but it was a start. Aera and the girls did not live well off even with Aleksander’s checks so Aera began working part-time at a convenience store to help pay. The pain and suffering that occurred with being poor drove Aera to steal money from the register. Once she was caught, she went to jail for embezzlement for 8 months. That left the girls in the custody of Aleksander.
November 30, 2008
Every time Aera had a shot at gaining custody back, even out of jail, the judges didn’t rule in her favor. She was a fraud and that didn’t go well over with them. Conditions in Norah’s life changed when she moved in with her father, he had just married an 18-year-old named Hara Hwang. She was a vain narcissist that ridiculed Norah for her eating habits and constantly contested with Aleksander to get the twins thrown out.
July 2nd, 2012
On an exclusive night at a family dinner, Hana was making comments about Norah eating “too much.” Norah got fed up with Hana and struck her across the face and assaulted her with truthful words. This made her father outraged, Hana then begged him to send the twins to boarding school in America. He agreed, believing their attitudes would change and it was for the best.

Norah and Hori arrived in New Orleans, Louisiana. They moved into their dorm room at the Academy of The Sacred Heart, a private Christian school. Their first day consisted of orientation, bratty girls at lunch, and a church session of 2 hours. Norah felt like the Academy was a living hell. Mainly to skip class and pass time, she joined the broadcasting club and the lacrosse team. Norah didn’t associate with the right people her first couple of months, her friends introduced her to smoking, alcohol, and stick-and-pokes. She was known by headmasters, teachers, and students as a troublemaker which ultimately ruined her reputation and she was kicked off the broadcasting club. Her friends were genuinely good people who had been led off the wrong path as well. They all began a rock band named “Revelous Rebelling.” Norah was the lead singer, songwriter, and electric guitar while others did the drums, acoustic vocals, and the keyboard. A regular day consisted of vandalizing the bathroom, smoking, “going” to class and rocking out with the band. The only thing Norah did show up for at school was lacrosse practices. Norah’s life seemed like realsh*t compared to her sister who was the class president and princess.

When Norah was nearing the age of 17, her father decided it was about time to arrange a marriage for her. It was beneficial that she marry one of her father’s business partners to provide an “exchange of goods.” Once the arrangement was set, he moved the girls to a boarding school in China so Norah could spend time with the boy. Norah viewed the boy as a copy and paste of Hana, so she despised him and his prideful thinking. Norah was engaged with him for around 5 months until he cheated on her. She ended up begging her soon-to-be father-in-law to leave the engagement until he agreed and sent his son to military school.

Peering out the window of the airplane, she spots the city lights of Karakura and releases a deep sigh. The plane slowly lands on the runway, and she walks down the stairs of the private aircraft. Norah just graduated and decided to begin her life living with Hori in Karakura. She thinks it can be a reinvention. Once she makes it to Hori’s quaint apartment by the beach, she unpacks her loads of clothes and ends the night with dinner.

The next two years move pretty slow, Norah never really settled down. Party after party, drink after drink, man after man, she never really got a chance to know herself. After a sad night alone drinking, she decided to run over to the lighthouse to get some fresh air. Her life made her feel absolutely worthless, no matter where she went, who she was with, it was all pain, the worst feeling. The only thing that helped was the alcohol, it washed the feeling down one sip at a time, but it would always creep back up her spine. Once it reached her head again, the puff of a cigarette eased her mind. Drugs had her life chained down. She was so sick of it. All night she sat contemplating what to do and finally she made the decision to go to rehab. She through her bottle of rum off the lighthouse, and booked a flight to Greece.

The flight to Greece was nothing like she’d ever seen before. As a little girl she grew up here, but she never could grasp the sight of the European Greenlands at midnight. After her exhausting 15 hours of the flight, she arrived in her true home, Athens. Her father allowed her to stay in the old apartment he was in during college, during Aera. That part of the retreat crept up her skin but she was so broke, what could she do. Her first priority was a change, so she wrote down a list of things she needed to do before she went back to Karakura.

A few days after her arrival, her 28-day clinic at the alcoholic rehab center began. It was a beautiful clinic, Greek architecture surrounded her along with an excessive amount of plants. Her room was smaller than she was used to, but bigger because of her father’s reputation in Athens. The clinic not only took alcohol out of her mind, but it made her realize the life plan she wanted to follow, she began studying Buddhism and running for fun to erase any loneliness she felt.

During a Las Vegas “escape from reality” vacation Hori and Norah annually took part in, two pimps offered to give them a ride in high-class cars if they’d race them for a show. They graciously accepted the offer and revved the engines in excitement. The flag girl waved them down, and Norah sped off a few feet in front of Hori, assuring the older sister dominance. The racetrack was 10 miles long in the streets of Las Vegas. Norah was halfway through the course when she reached an unexpected turn. She tried to swerve through it, but her car continued straight and flipped over into a ditch. Hori was about a mile behind her and noticed the accident, so she quickly called emergency services. Norah suffered broken legs, a broken right arm, minor brain damage, and moderate deafness.

The flight to Greece was nothing like she’d ever seen before. As a little girl she grew up here, but she never could grasp the sight of the European Greenlands at midnight. After her exhausting 15 hours of the flight, she arrived in her true home, Athens. Her father allowed her to stay in the old apartment he was in during college, during Aera. That part of the retreat crept up her skin but she was so broke, what could she do. Her first priority was a change, so she wrote down a list of things she needed to do before she went back to Karakura.

A few days after her arrival, her 28-day clinic at the alcoholic rehab center began. It was a beautiful clinic, Greek architecture surrounded her along with an excessive amount of plants. Her room was smaller than she was used to, but bigger because of her father’s reputation in Athens. The clinic not only took alcohol out of her mind, but it made her realize the life plan she wanted to follow, she began studying Buddhism and running for fun to erase any loneliness she felt.

During a Las Vegas “escape from reality” vacation Hori and Norah annually took part in, two pimps offered to give them a ride in high-class cars if they’d race them for a show. They graciously accepted the offer and revved the engines in excitement. The flag girl waved them down, and Norah sped off a few feet in front of Hori, assuring the older sister dominance. The racetrack was 10 miles long in the streets of Las Vegas. Norah was halfway through the course when she reached an unexpected turn. She tried to swerve through it, but her car continued straight and flipped over into a ditch. Hori was about a mile behind her and noticed the accident, so she quickly called emergency services. Norah suffered broken legs, a broken right arm, minor brain damage, and moderate deafness.
