Teachers can choose to join the Teachers Union if they wish to complain about pay or go on strike
SRGBV - School gender-related violence
People may use this phrase in meetings to talk about violence depending on genders.
NAGRAT - National Associate of Graduate Teachers
If you are a NAGRAT, it means you recently joined the teacher crew as a graduate, you are fresh out of university
Introduction
- In school teachers are the primary source of children's education, and they must have certain rules set in stone to make the school a happy place. And to ensure the school is the best, they must have a strict CoC.
- As a teacher, you must commit service as all kids are entitled to an education
- You must pledge to do your best to make students' behavior the best
- You must promise that you will help Taketatsu Highschool be the most successful school it can be
- This CoC has been drawn up, and you must follow it or otherwise you'll be punished.
- The rules and regulations in this CoC must not be viewed primarily as a list of standards and sanctions; it should be seen as a way to make the school a better place
Main Rules Of Conduct

- Teaching Notes: A teacher must and shall prepare notes and a planned class for the class that they are ordered to do, they must not do their class randomly and must not improvise unless needed too.
- Exercises:
- A teacher must set a adequate amount of written work and practical exercises and give homework in all subjects
- A teacher must mark papers carefully
- A teacher shall not make mean remarks that will discourage the child in their book
- Working Hours:

- Performance of Duty:
- A teacher must not fail to carry out her/his work in a lesson
- A teacher whose work performance is proven to not be good enough will be warned to encourage the teacher
- After two warnings, the teacher will be sanctioned
- Any teacher who has plagiarized any tests or examinations will be sanctioned
- Any negligence on the part of a teacher, whether causing damage to school resources or students, will end up in a sanction
- Private Activities During Lessons:
- Teachers must not engage in conversations with other teachers that are private and personal
- Teachers must not trade with anyone inside school during working hours
- No teacher should perform unofficial duties during working hours without permission
- Improper Use of Child Labor:
- No teacher shall subject a pupil/student to perform any labor that is not necessary in class
- A teacher shall not use the child for labor without consent of a parent
- A teacher shall not send a child on errands for him/her during after school or inside school unless there is a proper reason,
- No teacher shall use the child's labor for personal uses, e.g. carrying water to the teacher
- You may not use the student to perform any labor for yourself

- Physical Violence: Any form of physical violence towards a student will result in a violation of the child's rights.
- Teachers must not inflict any punishment that inflicts any physical pain on the student or causes physical harm. Such as pushing, hitting, whipping, lashing.
- No teacher must put a student in a painful posture
- No teacher shall punish a student to do anything outside of school hours
- No teacher shall intentionally or unintentionally cause harm on the student
- No teacher shall threaten or make the student feel scared of the student by the means of physical violence
- No teacher shall assault a student
- No teacher shall encourage a student to harm or attack other students, or encourage a student to harm or attack you
- A teacher shall stop a pupil from violence or abuse upon another student
- A teacher shall stop a fellow teacher from committing violence
- No physical punishment on a student is justified
- Psychological Violence:
- No act of a teacher shall have a negative effect on the student, for example, intimidating, insulting, teasing, harassing or more
- Teachers shall not give students physical challenges to ridicule them.
- Teachers must not pester students into activities that they do not know how to do
- No teacher should ignore a student
- No teacher must psychologically manipulate another student
- A teacher shouldn't send a student outside of class for being late.
- Teachers must show some tolerance, and should not be too cruel
- Teachers shouldn't be cruel towards students, and their actions must be justified.
- Discrimination: No employee or teacher should discriminate a student based on their age, weight, ethnic group, economic status, ethnic origin, health status, disability, background gender or sex.
- Favoritism: No employee or teacher shall do anything that suggests or creates the impression that a pupil/student is better than another student
- Inordinate Affection: No employee or teacher must show any over-the top affection to a student, whether that be in a sexual or friendly manner. (e.g., a teacher must not act as if he/she is a students friend, this does apply oocly.)
- Role Model:
- Teachers must serve as role models to the students at some degree, showing decency in speech, manners, discipline, dressing and general performance.
- Teachers shall dress professionally. Meaning suits, not bathing suits, professional wear. No maid outfits, nothing that you would in fact not wear to a job review. It is your job to set an example, dress professionally and properly.
- You need to as well act professionally, professional language is required. Don't tell students about how you banged someone last night. Your job is to teach, and give them their education, you're allowed to be nice to students, just not too nice.
- Idea Influence:
- Teachers must not use their power to spread political, religious or other ideas amongst students.
- Debates are okay, as long as you are not participating in the ideas

- Absence from Duty:
- No teacher may leave the school in school working hours without permission from the Principal
- If a teacher does get permission to leave the school and informs the head, they must also inform the head their whereabouts
- Teachers may only be absent for five working days over the year
- A teacher may not call him/herself sick or ill without granting permission
- If a teacher is confirmed to sick or ill, they are allowed to have (1) day off
- If a teacher is sick for more than ten days, their post will be removed
- Property of School:
- A teacher should not cause deliberate damage to school property
- A teacher shall not use the property of the school without permission or authorization from the Principal
- Protection of the School Staff:
- A teacher shall not released classified information of any working staff to students or other working staff
- No teacher shall disobey orders from up above and should not disobey lawful instructions, or reasonable orders.
- No teacher shall engage in any argument with the Principal unless there's a valid reason
- Fired:
- No teacher shall complain about being fired or any sanctions given to him/her
- If you believe the sanction is invalid, you can report it to the NUT
- Health and Safety:
- Teachers must do their best to not endanger any other students
- Teachers must not do any activities that puts students in risk of danger or injury
- Presence of Babies in School:
- Any babies inside school is not allowed, if you happen to have a baby you can either hire a baby-sitter or temporarily post-pone your role
- No pupil/student may be used as a baby sitter.
- Illegal Contraband
- No teacher shall use illegal drugs in their workplace.
- No teacher shall involve a pupil/student by sending him/her illegal drugs
- No teacher shall involve a teacher by sending him/her illegal drugs
- Committing a offence of illegal contraband is serious misconduct.
- No teacher shall drink alcohol while on duty or be found drunk in work hours
- No teacher shall smoke on the school campus
- No teacher should involve a student in drinking or smoking.
- Unauthorized: Any fees a student owns as a sanction for breaking an object can only be taken in by a higher official such as a Principal or Deputy-Head.
- Giving and Receiving Bribes:
- A teacher shall not give bribes to a student for personal or work gain
- A teacher shall not receive bribes from a student for their personal gain or academic gain
- A teacher shall not bribe teachers for personal or work gain
- A teacher shall not receive bribes from a teacher for personal or work gain
- Public Examinations:
- No teacher acting as a supervisor shall offer or assist any students at National or public examinations with the intent to cheat
- No teacher shall leak internal or public examination questions to students
- No teacher shall impersonate at any public examination
- Publications:
- No teacher will give opinions or expression permission of the principal as an act for any newspaper, social media without their permission
- No teacher will give press interviews or releases without permission
- No teacher will publish any obscene material outside of school
- Political Opinions:
- Every teacher is allowed to have their own political opinion.
- No teacher must engage him/herself in political controversy.
- Strikes:
- No teacher shall involve him/herself in students strikes, riots.
- A teacher can only go on strike if it is confirmed by the NUT
- Anonymous Letters: No teachers shall write anonymous letters with malicious intent
- Ruining the Schools Reputation:
- No teacher shall involve him/herself in anything that with degrade the schools reputation
- The teacher should preserve him/her own dignity, honor, and integrity.
- Prompt Action on Disciplinary Matters: All acts of misconduct will be dealt with
- Offences not in the code:
- You must use your common sense
- You must follow all the Japan Laws outside and inside school.
Penalties
How penalties work:- Misconduct or breaking any rules listed above is either classified as 'Minor' or 'Major.'
- The penalty from Minor offences to Major offences will different
I. A written warning to the teacher
II. A fine of a certain amount of money
III. One month suspension with loss of salary and pay.
IV. No payment (No payments for one year for the teacher)
V. Termination - They are fired from the school
Penalty for Major Misconduct
I. Postponement on increase for their salary.
II. Reduction in rank or salary (They may be degraded to a lower teaching position)
III. Suspension (Suspension for a maximum of one year, with no payment.')
IV. Removal from the NUT if in one.
V. Dismissal (Forced retirement, with retirement benefits)
VI. Termination (Being permanently fired)
VII. Withdrawal of Teacher Certificate so they can never become teacher again.
