How does your character know this language?: Cece was raised by her mother and grandparents in a small town in the country side of São Paulo, Brazil, her hometown. She grew up in a home where more than one language was spoken, however, the first language she learned was Portuguese because her mother was Brazilian and it was her will that her two daughters should be fluent in Portuguese. Although her maternal grandparents spoke and taught her Italian, it was easy for Cece to learn Portuguese first because the children in her neighborhood, most of her family and friends were Brazilian. After moving from Brazil, Cece never stopped practicing her native language, ensuring that she continued to study all the rules of Portuguese, always keeping in touch with her family and Brazilian friends, especially her sister, Venus.
