Describe your activity on SchoolRP:

I aim to be on SRP almost everyday for up to 2 to 5 hours. I'm more active on weekends because during the week I have school work to do and an active social life. However, I love playing on this server and if I were to get this role, I would try and be even more active than I already am.

Describe your roleplay experience with SchoolRP and other roleplay networks in general:

I engage in FamilyRP, CrimeRP (but very rarely) and I know a small amount about CombatRP. The thing I enjoy the most about roleplaying on this server is creating bonds between my characters and other peoples characters. I also like the fact that everyone is very friendly on this server and it isn't difficult to create conversation since everyone is so diverse and open to new roleplay situations. In the past I have done a little roleplay on Discord and Amino with a few of my friends that were mostly fantasy-based. My first ever experience with roleplay was a small WhatsApp roleplay that I took part in with a few of my friends and it still gets brought up in conversation today.

What are your current roles on SchoolRP:

[Grade-12]

What is the subject you want to teach?:

I would like to teach Art.

TRIVIA SECTION

What is your motivation for becoming a professor?:

I've been roleplaying as a Grade-12 for a while and I want a change in experience since I've gotten quite unmotivated to play as a Grade-12. However I'm not quite ready to make the jump of not being allowed in school on a school roleplay server, so I think being a professor would be a good role to apply for. Also, I'm very passionate about art and I'm taking it in college and I would love to share my knowledge with other people on the server. Furthermore, a few of my close friends are on the faculty team and have talked about how exciting and different it is.

Work out two interactive classes you will host if accepted:

1. One interactive class I would host would be a class on still life art. I'd open the class with an explanation on what still life art is because it's an important skill to know (even just the basics of it) because it can open many doors for those who are able to understand it. In the lesson, students would be allowed to bring in their own things to draw. However if a student did not bring an object in, I'd have a few to select from at the front of the class. I'd answer any questions, and help any students who were struggling, and reassure them that art is not a thing that can be learned overnight and it takes a lot of time and energy to perfect their skills.

2
. Another interactive class I would host is one on portraiture. I'd open class by having a discussion on why the students think drawing people is important. Drawing people is important because it's one of the main art forms that people request and seek out, so not learning it will make it harder to find people who want or enjoy your art in potential future careers. Before the class, I would request (beg if needed) a member of faculty to aid my lesson and be a still, live model for the class. If no member of faculty were available, I would have an image of a person displayed on the interactive whiteboard. Once again, I would help students who needed it and explain how art takes time.

Work out a field trip (meaning a class outside school grounds) you will host if accepted:

I would take my students to the west (left) part of Kaigan Beach, near Block L, to do some impressionistic landscape drawings. I would pick this area since it has a wide range of angles and perspectives for students to pick from. I also think the scenery is very beautiful and would make a great place for landscape art since it has so many different things to capture. I'd bring along a few pallets of watercolour paints and students with good sketches would be allowed to use watercolours to better their drawings if they wished to. I'd start the field trip by explaining the rules such as no wandering off, no jumping or pushing people in the water, no fighting and no misbehaving. I'd most likely have another faculty member accompany me on the trip since keeping an eye on up to 28 students by myself would be difficult. Once arriving, I would explain the task before letting them choose the area they wanted to draw.

SCENARIO SECTION

Your character would encounter a group of college jocks surrounding a bobcat jock, what would your character do?

Dair would sigh before approaching the group and calling out to them with an easy going smile on his face. If he was ignored he'd call out again with a sterner voice and have his hand on his radio which is attached to his hip just in case he has to call for back up. He'd ask the group what was going on and why they were crowding around the bobcat jock, if they refused to tell him or choose to keep ignoring him he'd warn the group that if they kept this up there would be further consequences. Hopefully they would stop after that but if they didn't he'd give them another warning followed by threat of detention.

Your character would be supervising detention, one of the students constantly disturbs by asking stupid questions, what would your character do?

Dair would pull the student aside so he does not cause even more of a distraction for the other students in detention. He would then softly explain how asking silly questions will just end up with the student getting a worse consequence then detention and he would advise them to stop as it is disturbing both himself and the other students in the room. If the Student continued even after he warned them to stop he would threaten them with SLT.

Your character would be hosting a class, and a group of cheerleaders keeps on playing songs on the phone and call out other students in the class, what would your character do?
Dair would kindly asked the whole class to make sure their phones are on silent or off as it is disrespectful to be on them while he is explaining the lesson. If after he warned the whole class they were still playing music he'd single the group out and ask them with a small smile on his face to put their phones away and stop playing the music as there are other students in the class trying to listen to his explanation of the lesson. Even after his second warning they continued he would warn them one more time before threatening them with detention for acting so rudely and not listening to him even though he asked for them to politely wait until after he was done with the explanation.

Your character would be walking on the school perimeter and encounter a fight between a couple of students, your character tried to break it up but it didn't help, what would your character do?
Dair would quickly reach for the radio on his hip and request back up at the area where the fight was happening. While he waited for back up to arrive he'd watch the fight from a little bit away and stop any students who tried to either cheer the fighting on or get involved. When back up arrives and the fight is broken up he'd go over to the student and talk to them about why the fight started and what they were thinking at the time seeing as fighting among peers is a horrible thing to do. He'd sigh and hand the people involved in the fight a detention slips and tell them to do their best to just stay out of each others way so something like this doesn't happen again.

CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE

Tell us everything you know about the character you will be playing in a few paragraphs. What does they look like? What makes them unique and different? What is their outlook on Students? What about the other teachers? What is their personality like? What is their plan for the future?
Dair would have short messy black hair that stopped just passed his ears. his build would be lean and he'd be quiet fit for his age. He would have a small scar on his chin which is hidden away by stubble. His eyes would be a soft green colour. His skin would be pale with a few freckles over his nose. He'd stand at about 5'10 with a small slouch to his shoulders. There would be a small star tattoo on the back of his neck which he covers with his hair when at work. He'd wear a white button up shirt with black dress trousers and shoes.

Darius' personality is very laid back, chill, and he's very understanding, it takes a lot for him to get upset or angry. He is very extrovert in smaller groups of people he finds it easy to make conversation with most people and he likes being able to learn of different peoples opinions on things he likes. However in larger crowds he is more timid and usually just sticks with people he knows only making conversation with them as he can get overwhelmed easily when there are to many people he doesn't know trying to talk to him. Dair is different back in his past job he had to deal with discrimination against him because of his sexuality and he understands how difficult it can be being openly Queer in an environment where some people wouldn't understand and therefore treat that person harshly simply because they didn't like the gender they were suppose to. He can empathies with people who have the same struggle with him easily since he's gone through it and he'd help them the best he can because he wants them to know they have someone looking out for them.

Darius' outlook on students and other Faculty members are mostly positive as most of them are kind, friendly and are willing to help other people. However his view on some students is more negative since they do things over and over again which break the rules in place so he's forced to be stricter with them which he doesn't enjoy because he doesn't understand their reasoning behind them going out of their way to be annoying to staff or other students who are just trying to learn/ do their job. His plans for the future is to stay in the Education business for as long as he can because he genuinely enjoys sharing his knowledge with people who want to learn it. He also like to leave a lasting impression on the people he has had the pleasure of teaching.

Describe how your character ended up becoming a teacher and their previous life. It is optional to include earlier life but recommended.

Darius was born in Glasgow, Scotland on December 13th 1984. He lived with his mother, father and sister until he turned eighteen. He and his were always very close and they were seldom seen without each other. This was particularly shown when he came out in high school, where he was bullied for being openly queer. His sister stayed with him the entire way through the hardships and was basically his other half.

Darius wanted to become a professor when he turned fifteen, just a few months before his father died, for two reasons. The first being that his mother was a teacher and he got to see the positive effect she had on her students. He wanted nothing more than to be someone like that to students. The second was that he wanted to be there for students who also faced discrimination like himself in school, and he believed that being a professor would be a good role to attempt to get. Once turning eighteen, he moved to Edinburgh to attend Edinburgh University, where he studied for ten years getting his Bachelors in Fine Art and PhD in Art. During this time, he also got his PGDE certificate, allowing him to begin teaching at schools. His first choice was to work as a TA at his university, but there was no need for him, so he instead applied to be a college professor at Edinburgh College, and got the job.

Although he loved his job at Edinburgh College, he felt the negative impacts of the toxic work environment that was obviously present at the college. He’d still get discriminated against, though not for being queer (he kept that hidden out of fear), but for instead being a man teaching art. Darius put up with this for five years, before switching to work full-time at a café he’d been working part-time at to get a bit of extra cash to pay the bills.

He had a lot more free time now that he only worked at the small, family-owned café, and dedicated it to learning Japanese because he had a big interest in anime and Japanese culture. He found the art created in Japan – both animated and cultural – to be extremely interesting and inspiring, and he wanted to connect with it more. After three years of studying, he was quite fluent in the language. Furthermore, the fact that one of his co-workers was Japanese and was learning English definitely encouraged him to work on his pronunciation, grammar and spelling even more. He decided to pursue teaching again just before he turned 38, and found an opening at a high school in a small island town called Karakura. He applied after some encouragement from his co-workers, and then flew to Japan in order to find an apartment to live in and potentially some back-up schools to apply for, just in case he didn’t get this job.
