Reiji & Amane both ran from home and they had to fight tooth because both parents were scummy people. So back then yeah they had a pretty rough childhood growing up but they've adapted and grown a lot from there until present day where both characters are thriving.

Midori however she's just traumatized by her friends but family life is relatively normal living in a loving household.
