What's your Minecraft Username?: ThatBurningFox
What's the title of your suggestion?: Radio Indicator (On/Off)
What's your suggestion?:
So most people that use them know how radios can be toggled to be able to see messages on them. In the case of certain special ones, you can also toggle between various 'frequencies', which are reflected in the actual item's name and the likes.
The suggestion is simple; implement some sort of visible indication that a radio is currently off/disabled. There are a multitude of ways this can be done, of course.
IMO the best one would be to have an actual little icon on the hotbar similar to how you have phone frequency showing and not showing if your phone is on or off, however, I understand if this is harder to do.
The second option would be to have it so the actual item name changes based on if it's on or off, so in the actual name of the item. "X Radio [ON/OFF] (Frequency)"
The final option, which is a bit less ideal but might still help minimally (though definitely not as much as the prior two) would be to have it shown in the flavour text of the item, similar to how a phone currently works with "Phone is turned on/off", just replaced with radio.
How will this benefit the server and community?:
This will benefit the community, particularly those in factions that actually utilise radios, for the sake of it being more clear if their radio is actually on or off. I understand it's up to us to track as much, obviously, so this is not a necessary suggestion and more of a quality of life change for those that actually use radios/walkie talkies/whatever, really. I've simply had personal experience moments where I've accidentally toggled my radio off during a heated moment and then been confused when the radio has been extremely quiet, missing vital information and communication live during a situation, only to finally try radioing myself and seeing it's currently off. WELL! THAT'S SILLY OF ME, ISN'T IT???
It's really not that big of a deal but I feel it might help people that run into situations like that just a tiny bit more.
Minor thing, but let me know if you have those same issues? Maybe if more people actually express it being a problem it'll be less of a tiny issue. But, hey! Ya never know.
