Describe your activity on the server:

Recently I had taken a long break mostly due to the things occurring in my life at the moment and I hadn't had much encouragement to get on the server until recently, I'm more on during the morning hours rather than later at night due to my work schedule, I enjoy playing with my friends and my partner as well. I would mostly consider my activity now more than ever, and I want to keep it as such.

Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you will be demoted?:

I completely understand that my inactivity will result in demotion of my role. I believe that this role will require activity to make interaction with students more immersed and feel more lived in as a result. Consistency in activity is the key to immersion of not only other players but also me as well.

I will be applying for the role of Librarian.

In as much detail as possible, describe the employee role you are applying for:

I will be applying for the role of caring for the library, which includes, maintain the cleanliness of the shelves, tables, and any other surfaces, as well as making sure books are organized and stowed away correctly, and to interact with others and assist those in need.

What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?:

I have plenty of experience in casual roleplay as well as detailrp, crimerp, and gangrp, I’ve been on the server for about a year, and this coming February will be 2 years. I tend to just stick to casual roleplay since I no longer participate in gang activities. I've built up plenty of involvement in casual roleplay that includes smaller actions and conversations, but I'm not impartial to longer and more detailed roleplay.

Why do you want to join the School Employee faction?:

My reasoning for joining this faction would be to put myself in an area of roleplaying that I have not yet experienced, I believe that being put in an authority figure role has many differences compared to normal roleplaying as a student. Also, it adds barriers to roleplaying that I believe would be helpful to go through since I would be roleplaying as an adult rather than a high schooler. This role would also be more fun to be as and to be able to get to know more people that are also within the school faculty to interact and roleplay with.

During a work-shift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how does your character react?:


Alain would think for a second, gathering his thoughts before moving to his feet. He’d then maneuver around his desk, which he sat at before going up to the student, offering to chat at one of the tables to properly address as to why the student might feel this way. He would assure the student that he meant no harm and wanted nothing more than to understand where he might come from.

You notice two students are physically fighting in the hallway, – multiple punches have been thrown – how does your character react?:

Alain would reach for his radio, calling anyone who might be nearby for assistance, he would then walk up to the altercation before asking for them to separate, making sure to ask for both sides of the story, if the altercation continues past asking to stop, he would then demand they separate, ensuring he has eyes both students before another faculty arrives, then getting both sides of the altercation before giving a suitable punishment and sending anyone to the nurse's office for any injuries.


Another school employee is clearly acting inappropriately, doing something very dangerous on the job, how does your character react?:

Alain would approach the employee, making sure it is safe to do so before acting, he would then guide them towards the nurses office to check for any substances or injuries done to themself. After that he would file an incident report to ensure that the situation is well documented and taken care of by people who can do more than himself.

When in the employee break room, how does your character act?


After entering, Alain would look around, the coffee maker would catch his eye, he was feeling a bit thirsty. As he approached the machine, he’d pop in a capsule and set in a mug at the spout before starting it, waiting patiently as the room filled with the aroma of bitter coffee, a scent he quite enjoyed. After that he would pour in a packet of sugar and a small portion of milk, stirring until well combined. He’d observe the liquid quickly before satisfyingly taking the first sip.

Provide us with at least three detailed /me's of your character whilst on your chosen role:


/me would glide around his desk, setting down the various books he had chosen from the shelves, he’d open the first one, he noticed that the pages were coming off the cover of the book. He’d grab his glue, lathering the spine of the pages and the crease of the cover making sure to put enough to work. He would then slide them into one another before closing the book and putting another on top so it could properly cure.

/me would wander around the tall shelves of books that surrounded him, grabbing books of different sizes, thicknesses, and height. All varying in different cultures, he’d plop himself on a nearby couch and table; the couches were way more comfortable than his swivel chair behind his desk, making sure he had proper view of his desk in case a student needed any assistance.

/me would push his little cart filled with returned books around traveling from shelf to shelf putting each book back in its proper place, double checking every so often to ensure that all the shelves were well organized and did not stray from his reliable system. Once he’d finished, he would return with the cart behind his desk, parking it where it belonged before checking the bin for any more books to be put back on the varying shelves that he took care of.

Backstory

Alain grew up just outside of Rouen, France, where he studied hard throughout his adolescence, fascinated by the world around him. As he grew older, his curiosity only deepened, and he became captivated by the many cultures of the world, learning about their foods, dances, wardrobes, and every small custom he could uncover. He absorbed everything he could throughout high school and later in college, eventually graduating with his master’s degree in Humanities. Afterward, he applied for numerous teaching roles in various universities and community colleges, hopping from school to school. Yet once he was hired, he quickly realized it wasn’t what he truly wanted. The routine lectures, the disengaged students, the repetitive assignments. Though none of it truly fulfilled him. ‘What was the point of teaching?’ He wondered.

He found beaty in education, but why didn't any of his students not see the same thing, was it him, was it them. He didn't know. He wanted to find out what exactly was holding him back. He longed to escape the monotony and start fresh somewhere completely new, Alain had rarely ventured far from France, and though he knew his family would miss him greatly, he understood that leaving was the only way to find the of purpose of his life that he craved.

He filed through many places, noting their scenery and their demographics, however none of them seemed to intrigue him; nothing caught his attention, and he was about to give up and just quit this endeavor. After thinking it through, he tried again, looking through various places that were hardly named at all and focused in on those, after extensive searching, he settled on the town of Karakura, believing its diversity and lively atmosphere could offer the new experiences he sought. There, he hoped not only to explore unfamiliar cultures firsthand but also to share his own discoveries with students who might finally appreciate the passion that had shaped his life.

Motivation for Joining KHS (Character perspective):


“Well honestly, moving here is sort my new start from everything, it's my chance to make new friends and hopefully something more with someone too, being able to work at a prestigious school with just as prestigious staff and alumni would be life changing but would also make me so happy for my future and I know that I won't be totally alone here. Not to mention being surrounded by the vast number of books, the vast amount of pure history that line the shelves would be such an honor to browse through.”

Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?:


“Well, I feel that my determination already sets me above most in terms of wanting and willing to do anything possible to join this amazing team of faculty as well as my longing to do anything better with my life knowing that this school would be the key to that. I know there are many other great candidates but, I know that with my expertise I can be a very valuable person to the roster of faculty.”
