Ranking up after donating

It seems after donating to get Rich Kid I can't Rank up grades anymore. Is this a bug or is this intentional?

This is because when you donate, it auto-ranks you to the highest High school rank.
If you were college you may have experienced glitches of it de-ranking you to grade-12
